Up and somewhat awake though seriously contemplating returning to bed - but had an dream/idea for my story that I just have to get in Daz or I might forget

I'm a bit irritated that most of the 'running' poses in my library look like people going for a simple jog around the block. I could have sworn I had more 'mad dash for freedom' stuff but I'm not finding them now.

New sale out meant I finally broke down and bought Nano Suit for Genesis 2 - I'm not changing Sam's suit for this story but it will get updated when I'm done. I also bought the Mill Puppy so I can try to create that sweet little doggy I posted several pages back. I tried with Mill Dog and they just don't morph down to Small/Cute/Sweet little dogs.

A little motion blur applied to an object makes it look like moving fast, alternately you move a camera with the object and the background blurs, either way is a cheap trick with not much overhead that's often overlooked :)

Morning. Dawn's first orange glow kidnapped by bland grey and white as the sun rises into fog and skyline scraping cloud :)

...hmmm...never tried loading Dawn into Carrara to use the Glow shader...

    ..oh wait,...wrong Dawn...

    ...apologies.

Which version of dawn should be used in Carrara
...the Daz one, First you need to save a version of her as a .duf before loading into Carrara. The Poser version will load but distorts badly when posing as Carrara uses Daz's TriAx weight mapping and not Poser's.And do not forget for proper use you need a full stick of dynamite and a fuse of at least 6 inches in length. You tape this to the side of your PC as soon as Carrara loads Dawn. Any tape will do it will not be needed long, you then light the fuse and walk away rapidly. Please warn all others in the house you intend to bomb your PC as it may upset others. But it solves the Dawn in use problems in one big Flash. It actually solves all other render issues as well, and if played right you can even get free room and board for the rest of your days, known in some places as a cot and 3 hots.
    >This has been a tongue in cheek pun and is not to be taken any other way.<</span>

Maybe your Austin dr can give you a referral to someone up there. Worth trying.

True. Thankfully, one good night of sleep has helped a lot - and hydrating, apparently 2-3 cups of water a day isn't enough to keep a trout healthy!

    *chug chug chug*

Trout are supposed to be swimming in water. Drink lots more, pour it over your head and body. Don't dry out.

I found a pose pack that I had bought but apparently didn't download, which I'm kinda kicking myself over cause it also had some really nice somersault poses that I could have used earlier. Has more running poses that actually look like 'mad dash' so I'm good there for now.

Someone has fireworks going off two, maybe three blocks over. Going to have to watch the dog extra careful when she goes outside. She gets excited easily and I don't want her to run off or bolt into the borgenvia bushes(thing has lovely flowers and god awful thorns >_<)</p>

So if the relative humidity is at 60 percent and water freezes at 32 degrees F. When will Ebays forums begin to make sense?
Also, why can't canines or felines run for political offices? my mini schnauzer "Gator" would make a great Mayor of Oregon City, OR

Ok, I now own Vicky 6.

My Renderosity account is still active, so is my RDNA account, so I have swords and temples.

Someday I'll need a Mike to slaughter. And a Stephie, and I guess an Aiko.

I have Rons Blood brushes so messy gore in post shouldn't be an issue.

    What a bother!! :ahhh:

Your old content from DAZ 3D is still there under your old Email Address my Friend. If you knew that the Powers that be (Richard or DAZ_Ann or one like that) may be able to link you back to that account. Could not hurt to look into it.

I'm starting over fresh and minimal. Only buy what I need for a scene,, etc. etc.

If Vicky can't live in it, hide in it, or stick a sword in it - I don't want it!! :gulp:

You can select what downloads and installs and leave the rest. And you have the option of hiding the item(s) in the Ready to Download list so the ones you don't want don't show up and clutter the view. For the most part, the DIM turns out to be a pretty nice tool. Especially so if you're starting fresh, which I did because I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro and had to reinstall everything anyway.

And you already own that cool Bone Cathedral from here. :vampire:

    heheheheheheheheh!!!

re: Fireworks - on an interesting note, it is *totally* legal to shoot off fireworks here of any type.

... and it is totally quiet outside (and has been)!!! Crickets and katydids are chirping... ideallic summer evening (not even hot here today)

    laws often cause criminals! ;-P

On the topic of pub names (in a fantasy environment - ala "Prancing Pony" etc.):
one of my favorites from back in my DMing days: The Pink Pegasus
Group had been complaining about the 'typical' pub scene in towns during the week prior to game night, so when we were playing that Friday and they got to the next town and decided to hit the pubs to find some 'adventuring work' (i.e.: trouble), they had two options: "The Pink Pegasus" and "The Well Hung Orc" all they knew about the two (they were new to the town - a port city) was that the Pegasus was in a nicer part of town and the Orc was down on the docks... and the innkeeper had given them an odd look when they asked about them.

Deciding that any place called "The Well Hung Orc" (a sailor hangout no less) was not where they wanted to go, they headed to the Pink Pegasus.

... and it was ***FABULOUS*** (said with an almost squeal)!!

yes, I introduced a gay bar into my campaign (complete with floor-show - the things you can do with illusion spells!), though it took them a bit to realize it (I think they were partially in denial that I would do it, and also there were some x-dressers they mistook for women). They suddenly got extremely self-conscious about asking for 'work' and fled the place like a flock of Pit Fiends was after them! (the couple of players who were gay IRL were about to bust a gut laughing)

After a quick regroup (and some foul language directed at the totally innocent DM), they headed off to the Well Hung Orc - to find the sign showing a lynched orc hanging from a ship's yardarm. Despite the run-down and disreputable area, they felt a lot more at-ease and sauntered in.

It was also a gay bar - though more of the black leather and chaps type... a rough place.

... another hasty retreat followed by more cursing and accusing.

Finally they bothered to ASK the innkeeper what was up, only to learn that the local temple was a very strict, conservative faith and did NOT allow most things - like drinking... so the only people going to pubs were those few who were otherwise not members of the 'faith' (and I showed them where this was in my notes all along) and pointed out if the cleric OR the paladin had *bothered* to go to check out the local temple before hitting the bars, they would have already known this...

ended up as a great couple of sessions though :) and extremely memorable (brought the Pink Pegasus back in a few other campaigns later much to the groans of those players still part of the group over the years).

    ok, I have a complaint:

So supposedly I can use my V4 clothes with V6 (Gen2 female)...

... if that is so, why can't I use V6 clothes with my V4?!?!? either they are not compatible or they are!

yeah, yeah - I am dragging my heels, but I have too much invested in V4 to upgrade to Gen2... I am only a hobbyist and cannot afford to sink the kind of money involved in switching (especially considering V4 works just fine for me... heck, still use V3 occasionally too).

That is because going up a generation from already rigged to a next generation with just minor adjustments is much easier it appears than going down the generations and down modifying to the older type of rigging. The Converted stuff is not still in the original rigging type once converted. All up goes to Triax type and Down is not Triax Weight mapped so It has to be the weight mapping in my view. I have heard of people creating the downward clones but I doubt those will be made for sale.

...nice. I always love throwing the players for a loop.

In my Seattle Shadowrun campaign the runner hangout of choice was not Club Penumbra or Matchsticks (two prime locations mentioned in the Seattle Sourcebook), but an unassuming low key establishment known as the 24 hr Flapjack House on south Lake Union (patterned after the 24 hr Hotcake House in SE Portland).

I tended to transplant a number of cool RL locations into the game. In the Vienna segment of the story there is a bar called Die Unterzatz that was inspred by a pub here in Portland known as Ringler's Annex which has a cheeky underground bar that I thought would be a great setting for "shadowy" deals. A good part of both the campaign and story that revolves around Leela was conceived and written there because the atmosphere was so perfect.

yeah, but the thing about any converter app/utility is that bidirectionality is implicit... unless you just don't bother! I wrote code for years and managed coders for years more - if I knew enough about the formats and changes I could almost do it myself even WITH my current 'rustiness' and mental function!

heck, once you have the process solved/working, adding the reverse is neither difficult nor time consuming. If you are adding something, you remove it. If you are modifying (since you have to know how much), you modify by the opposite. If you are changing format/order you already have BOTH built in - it is just which one you save and which you read.

    ...
