My daughter's bird dog (German Short-haired Pointer) loves to chase lizards along our back fence here in Austin. I've only had 2 cups of coffee so far. No newspaper when I got up, but it has already been redelivered and read. Statesman is always skimpy on news. Now I'm ready to get another coffee, get dressed, and empty a bedroom. Troutface, please keep the Tulsa heat up there. We don't want it.

My weatherworking abilities suck, so don't *literally* sweat it (lololol)!

Going to hide indoors all day, it's open mic at 4PM at the club so I might run over for a cold beer and music.. last Sunday was decent but according to the bartender it's a crapshoot. I apparently missed the guy with the singing dog... :bug:

Tulsa, iz pretty much landlocked, eh? you have any major rivers?

There are rivers and lakes all over.. one river runs through downtown, like Lady Bird Lake in Austin.. we apparently have a Riverwalk as well. I need to get downtown next weekend, plus I need to visit the Aquarium and see LOTS OF FISHIES!!! :cheese: :cheese:

Sounds kind of like a White Russian kind of thing. Luksusowa is a very mild vodka, I bet it'd be supertasty! :cheese:

Me, drinking beer. Vodka when I go to Open Mic!

I don't get those shots. I get sick about once every three or four years. And it's not always a flu, at least I don't think so.

Part of it is my dislike of the Content Manager... too much of my content isn't DAZ material, and needs to be easily organized for both Studio and Poser (just did the upgrade to PP14), to the extent that material is usable in both programs. And I never did like the 'official' category system. And part of it is the 'what happens if something goes wrong?' If I'm downloading and testing one item at a time, I KNOW where the problem is. If a bulk system is doing it, I might not figure out what went wrong, or even that something DID go wrong.

It seems to know when something goes wrong. Well, at least when something will not download or install. And you can view the log to see the errors. But sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why the error occurred. There have been a few things that just don't install. At the end, I've been told to just install them manually. But out of the thousands of items, there a list of about eight that haven't been installed. And a few of those are things I don't want installed the way it wants to. And a couple that can't because I don't have the required software. Like the DAZ Bridge to Photoshop. it requires 64 bit Photoshop and I only have CS2, which is not 64 bit.

I am considering switching the content management to PostgreSQL, though. I am just a procrastinator and also have other things to tie my time up instead. But I'll get to it.

eta: If you can find one of those tutorials on creating the Meta-Data files for other things, then you supposedly can use the DIM to download and install zips from other sources. I think I've seen someone say they do that and it works for them.

...I switched to PostgreSQL and my entire database went *poof*. Not about to uninstall/reinstall all my Daz content (some of which is from the old Freebie vault days or has been discontinued) through the DIM.

Also like yourself I have a lot of content form other sources, as well as a massive collection of freebies, some of which are no longer available.

...well been a meh kind of day today that even the reminder bots are ambivalent about things

Was up far too late (early?) working on my contest scene again. Could probably use a photo backdrop but not sure how well that will go over. for the challenge. Kind of have the water looking OK (still not what I really want). Still wish I had purchased Ultimo Paradiso back when I had money when it was also on a Flash sale.

Been a "Donner und Blitzen" (the weather, not not reindeer) type of day. Heard the rumbles this morning, decided to lay back for a little longer, dozed off, then yikes it's early afternoon. Fired up the "puters only to hear more thunder again forcing me to shut everything down. Being cashless (bank still hasn't posted the refund credit) really had nothing else to do. Thought about laying down again but instead went for a walk as I don''t need throw my sleep schedule off any more then it already is Sun finally came out and it got hot & and stickingly humid. Finally looked like the worst has moved on through so finally felt safe booting everything up again.

Hips, legs, and ankles aching like mad, not supposed to happen in summer.

Germany won "la Copa Mundial 2014" (didn't someone here predict that was going to happen?). Fun little video from Canada concerning the issue of "flopping" which seems to be rife in international footy.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvsuYssoTw0

Teryaki Beef and Wok Veggies for dinner tonight. Then back to work on the contest scene (almost done). Probably a longshot for the theme of the contest, but hey, have to give it a try anyway.
