neat and useful tricks about shaders EP, thank you; may I ask you how you would proceed to get a fake sss on ears in my model (LIilith 6) by using the torso map and considering that the lighting comes from hdr image only (see image below)? I'm going to try to build a depth map or such, what do you think?

Here I enhanced the micro reflection by using the curve filter and lowered the shininess; the second shot shows as comparison what you get in daz studio with the same character (totally different, she must be the little sister).

ps thank you bigh I dloaded it

I decided to hand paint my earlier posting.

Trying for a comic book effect.

    (Coloring can be very therapeutic.)smiley

    I don't know if I have a destination. They're actually just doodles.

de3an, thanks for the generous sharing of your recipe. Each of your posts has a great flavor of its own. I like the color versions, but am totally intrgued with the B&W effect you're nailing down.

As far as I'm concerned, you're not boring me. It joins Jeremy Birn occlusion sandwich in the workflows I want to experiment with (in that matter, you"re in good company).

Sorry that I didn't get back to you sooner, but I've had deadlines to meet! I will come up with something in the next couple days. I am presenting a scholarship from my theatre group this evening, so no time tonight I'm afraid.

Something I been working on for a last couple of days, still WIP, public domain model from BlendSwap ( http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/82875 ) almost completely reworked and retextured (Substance Painter), UV's redone and rigged in Mixamo, maybe I'll do a full scene, lol, doggy is also another public domain model from BlendSwap. Cheers smiley

    Wow, you've been busy!
    As usual, excellent work.

I don't recognize the first image (the one labeled Jon). What is it from?

  • stu sutcliffestu sutcliffe Posts: 274

Thats my friend Jon... He does great little thumbnail sketches that I am compelled to recreate. This was his self portrait.

  • 3DAGE3DAGE Posts: 3,311

I recognised your friend Jon,. ,. .....but I've no idea who Mr Tarkin is

Mr Greedo reminds me of "the first men in the moon" creatures

Good to see your work again Stu :)

    stunningly good

Star Wars: A New Hope. The original. Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) and Greedo who shot second in the Cantina scene despite Lucas's attempts to re-write cinematic history in the Special Edition version.

  • 3DAGE3DAGE Posts: 3,311

Sorry EP :) I was joking,.(i have a strange sense of humour sometimes) i know it's Peter Cushing ,...grew up watching Dracula, Frankenstein, all the Hammer House of horror movies,.  i don't know jon,. but he looks like fun.

but didn't know about Greedo,. so thanks for that :)

I'm wondering how stu did the hair ,. it looks great.

  • stu sutcliffestu sutcliffe Posts: 274

    Hair......just practice...

When I saw Star Wars it was just called Star Wars....thats the way its gonna stay.

I dont think Greedo got a shot off...on the grounds of being deaded.

I think you're right. Anytime I hear someone talk about Lucas's re-editing of the scene, it seems to be that it should have remained Han that shot first, which seems to imply Greedo shot second. Now I will have to go and have a look.

I wonder if they got rid of the Storm Trooper clunking his fool head on the overhead door?

  • stu sutcliffestu sutcliffe Posts: 274

I think they left the head bang in but actually added a sound effect to it.
