I want to brush my teeth and go to bed. Is that okay?

does your toothpaste fight cavities, tastes like bubblegum, and sparkles?

It fights cavities and whitens teeth I think

It's OK with me! But that shouldn't matter to you...do what you want, not what others want you to do.

    Dana

    okay will do.

Does anyone know of any freeware or open source software that can examine a HDD and say what areas are using the most disc space and by what percent?

Thank you! I got that installed and running. I will let it analyze my HDD while I sleep.

Dad is wondering why the keys on his keyboard are sticky. Um, he is eating food at the computer desk.

Smilies don't work. I think an addon is blocking the script for the smilies. ok, time to do some chores.

Starion, be a good son and blow out his keyboard for him. It will just take a couple of minutes. Emoticons...hmmm, might take longer.

Is difficult to set up for those long sunset shadows....

I see what you mean. The Sun is so distant, you don't get that kind of divergence (convergence?). But I don't think that's easy to overcome in 3D software. In my (little) experience, the DS distant light will work properly for the shadow, but is a bit too much for sunset light.

Or maybe I'm totally wrong about the shadows. :blank:

    Dana

Yes is much more pronounced with a point light, not sure what the "best" approach might be, perhaps some light emitting geometry...

It would seem that those shadows are a bit mysterious, too. That is a hill, grading downward in the viewer's direction. Yet there are shadows and light all the way to the crest of the hill. But there is no sun in the visible sky. If it's below the horizon, then there should be shadow from the hill engulfing the area.

I haven't done anything with IDL or HDRI, but maybe one of those would be your solution?

    Dana

Physical lighting model is closer :)

...well Saturday morning has arrived. Feeling much better than yesterday.

Sun trying to burn off the morning clouds but not dong a good job of it. Really not looking forward to more grey skies and rain.

Found a Claymore Freebie for my Margo Grande scene, Still looking for an "express" big game rifle (preferably free). Unlike Sci-Fi and Steampunk firearms, substituting a different historical one (like a Winchester or a Mossberg shotgun) just doesn't work as they are too recognisable. Too bad they vaulted all the old freebies for I think there may have been one in one of Questar's firearms sets.

I thought I just saw an announcement the other day about them being back up, not on this site, but somewhere with permission. I forget exactly where, but if you look in the General Freepozitory, you might find the topic I read.

    Dana

I somehow doubt that Questor's freebies would be back up anywhere, given what he said on the forum a couple of years back
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/3092/P15/#126870 particularly this part

It is unlikely that I would agree to the guns being hosted here at Daz again simply because they are very old. The mapping on them is beneath basic and the mesh quality isn’t that great either.

...compared to the only example of a big game rifle I saw over at TS (for15$) the Questor's Firearms I have have are of much better quality.

You don't see it like this? o.0... the only "curiosity" I can see, is that she missed a colon before her second quote segment (because she was quoting Questor's post, not yours).

It's as if her and my comments are mixed together somehow.

Even so, it should have her Avi and sig not mine.

It doesn't look that way to me. Yours is self contained, as is mine, and hers and her quote of Questor, are all delineated well to my eyes.

Oh, I was looking at the wrong post (judging by the screenshot you produced)... and I presume you are the one who said "...compared to the only example of a big game rifle I saw over at TS (for15$) the Questor’s Firearms I have have are of much better quality."... so why should it be her Avi+sig and not yours? (fwiw I read it the same as Dana's screenshot).

The Avi+sig on all posts corresponds to the person who _makes_ the post, not what they're quoting... (so this post has MY sig on it, not yours).

My phone plugs into a socket in the wall, if I glued it to my ear I wouldn't be able to move around very far.

Is that like "tethering" with a smartphone?
