Non-complaint:  Yay, my USB-C back panel slot port arrived and I've installed it.  Wheee...  Yet another motherboard socket filled.yes

Complaint:  I tried to test the new backpanel USB-C port and the only USB-C device that I have is a thumbdrive.  Unfortunately the screwheads holding the USB-C socket to the backpanel slot prevent the thumbdrive from seating properly into the socket.frown  I've had to order a short (3.3 foot) USB-C extension cable.

Non-complaint:  The short USB-C extension cable will permit me to route the female socket end to the front of my computer where I can hook or tape it into place and voila I have a front panel USB-C port.  Wheee...smiley

Complaint:   The 3.3 foot USB-C extension cable cost as much as the USB-C backpanel adapter.crying

Non Complaint: Finally got my refund for my dysfunctional coffee warmer. Ordered a new one. This time I made sure it was UL certified and had an off button. It's green!

...bananas, tasty soruce of potassium, excellent if you suffer from leg cramps.

Found a good way to store bananas to keep them from bruising under their own weight. I put them in the wok that is on top of a cabinet .

My cabinets are flush with the ceiling so that doesn't wok for me. (*groan*)

It's not new, at least in the form of coeliac disease - I would be wary of doing statistics with self-diagnosed gluten intolerance - as I recall an item on a science programme (Tomorrow's World) when I was still in school about improved forms of gluten-free bread for those affected.

Complaint I don't actually care about...

(File it under "it's your car, drive it into a brick wall, or beat it with a sledgehammer if you want, I don't really care")

So the other day my daughter suggested DAZ to a friend who seems to be interested in digital art (a kid I may add who's parents just shovel money into her hobbies)... so apparently she went to DAZ, saw the main page and didn't get why my daughter suggested a site that sells NFTs.

I was like "What?"... so I looked at the main DAZ page... like the one you get if you Google "DAZ3D" and it's pretty stupidly focused on NFTs with them leading at the top of the page and the rest of what DAZ is about following...

Admittedly, the NFT nonsense is only the Diigitals video for their Shudu NFT collection, and the two buttons underneath, "Shop Now" and "Learn About NFTs", but the kid is actually pretty smart, and the way the ad and graphics are focused, I could totally see why she immediately rejected DAZ thinking it was some kind of NFT site... if you click on either of those two buttons without scrolling down or investigating more, that's what it seems like DAZ does...

My daughter later (today) clarified that's not what DAZ does, but her friend "wasn't really interested, or maybe not... who knows..." as my daughter said.

I would have posted this in that "NFT and the future of digital content" thread, but that's pretty pointless, DAZ gonna do what DAZ is gonna do and that is that.

This totally reminds me of a friend who years ago, despite everyone telling him not to, made a trendy modification to a car he raced on weekends and ended up blowing the engine because of it... also of a friend who started selling AmWay, but that's another can of worms...

A head shaker, I for some reason felt like mentioning, but don't actually care about at this point.

The gluten allergy thing coincides with the Day Of The Triffids time frame... Beware that genetically modified Triffid wheat...

Has DAZ been having problems the past few days?... I keep getting timed out a lot today with the cloudflare notification that it's the site's servers.

One plus for the 502 bad gateway error is that it just reminded me to fix the driveway gate hinge which has gotten a bit out of a alignment from me kicking it open constantly.

At the moment I have a gateway without a gate.  I think the gate is going to be the last thing on the landlords list of storm repairs to be done on his properties.

I can see his reasoning.  Gates do little to keep storms at bay.indecision

It could work if you get one of those reciprocating demolition saws... but your bananas might get wet if there's no attic above.

I got a new writing desk. Also known as a student desk. Tomorrow I hope to put it together. I was allowed to get a bunch of stuff to get my room in order. I'll try to take pictures when it is finished.
