I was going to get dressed and walk up to the Corner Store. Just checked and it's 38 F here right now. The expected high today is 66. I believe I'll just wait a bit before walking anywhere.

34F here at 6:30AM, high should be 50F. :blank:

someone is using my email address to sign up for Facebook and Twitter. Huh? I just received some confirmation messages from Facebook and twitter. Now I need to create a new e-mail account and then I need to change the e-mail address associated with the Daz Store. Ugg.

As far as I know, no one else has actually logged into my account. Still, I am nervous.

Fiance should be over his sinus infection - he's finished both of the antibiotics. But he still has this horrible cough when he starts to exert or even talk a lot. And now, he's sometimes coughing so much he's gagging. I'm ordering him to go back to the doctor today cause this cough scares me.

Sounds like it could be bronchitis. I had it 4 times this year. They have anti-inflamatory shot and pills for that. I started on generic zyrtec after the last time. Hasn't come back since.
Hope your SO is feeling better soonest.

Since the account is under your email address, you should be able to contact them and tell them that it's a fraud account and want it cancelled.

On second thought, just don't confirm it. But be watchful...it might be an attempt at identity theft.

Oh, right, confirmation...if there's no answer they won't create the account, right? I guess the real worry should be why? An attempt at identity theft? That would worry me!

My concern would be where they got my email from in the first place. Why would be a short list of reasons - identity theft is one. Could be an attempt to smear your reputation by getting in and posting inflammatory material or defamatory stuff.

With the identity theft, they could pretend to be you and get personal information from friends who think that it's you.

Email address info is readily available if you know where to look. There are lists and lists, distributed among vendors and marketing companies. Plus, there is software, I believe, that just generates email addresses...on the theory that at least a good portion of them would be actual addresses.

As for smearing a reputation, that is a concern. Many people already have accounts at FaceBook, and it is known to be easily hacked in the developer community, so that isn't very difficult. Look at what happened to that woman minister last year. Someone hacker her FaceBook account, locked her out because they changed the password, and then started posting things that she would never say or do. There was nothing she could do about it because she couldn't get into her own account.

But a more frightening concern is someone getting more of your info and getting a credit card in your name...you'd be left with the bill and debt. I already have plenty of that, thank you.

...I'm thinking of getting a set or two. The battery powered ones are both low voltage (4.5v) and LED (no heat) so I can actually use them on an aluminum tree.

...Thank you, one of the first "big" scenes I did with the workstation back in 2013. Took forever to render as I was still using UE light sets at the time and between the plants and flutterbys, it was overloaded with transmaps. The scene actually crashed in open GL mode (while working in the viewport) several times as it was taxing the 1GB of memory on the GPU with all the complex textures and transparency maps.

If I had the patience and about five times the memory, I would love to animate that scene. Would have to do it in Daz 4.7 though as to do it in Cararra I'd most likely have to rebuild the entire scene from scratch as there is no Daz - Cararra import (or at least a working one). Not about to create and set up nearly three dozen fluttebys as instancing has too many limitations (yes, each flutteby was loaded individually).

If I had and knew Lightwave, the animating would be so much cleaner and smoother.

BTW the public stable release o 4.7 is out. So far from what I have experienced, it's is a huge improvement.

I just installed a new free item for Genesis. Now I see the message "Duplicate IDs found." Ugg, not again. I'm gonna read about duplicate IDs and how to resolve this issue. I'll be back later.

edit: I found Mr. Richard Richard Haseltine's tips in this thread: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/665354/

    (snip)

I found the error message: "Unsupported formula" in the new dsf file that I installed. Ok, I know how to continue now.

edit: Hmm, looks like the duplicate ID isn't really related to the unsupported formulas. Ok.. I'm going to temporarily remove the offending DSF now.

I'll have to look for flutterby lights. DD and I already have a few flutterby ornaments on our eclectic tree. A professional decorator told me many years ago that my tree was trashy and I should have a theme. My response: Each and every ornament has a special meaning to me and there is no way it will change other than adding more ornaments each year. So there! Surprisingly, he and I are still good friends.
