For those of you that don't buy every figure that comes out and decide that the prices just don't work for you, the good news is that this isn't something that will change how things work for you. If anything you might come out a little better off if the people that are getting the figures early want to show them off and give you a little preview of what the figures are capable of in the forums or galleries.

This is a small part of a larger post from DAZ_Rawb (full post from him can be found on page 5). I believe he was talking about the release of the base figures, and I don't know what it is you guys have (base figures, free items, etc) but at least it is a little information on what they seemed to be aiming for as far as giving you (pass holders) the items early.

Sorry it took me a while, but yeah, pretty much an exterior environment, at most you could use the sofa inside the house to take a shot from outside of people talking or something there. Pretty much default render settings, 500 samples each so expect some noise, etc, using default sun sky dome and default scene lights. The five renders are using the included cameras.

Thanks for posting that. The pines are nice, but that house.... those rocks are just a texture. Hard pass.

It doesn't really look like a real building to me... too small and narrow. It seems like more of a facade. But when you're viewing it from the front and nearby, you probably can't tell.

  • Well, I'm assuming it's not complete since it's only supposed to be used for the front yard area, not like someone modeled that house thinking that would be the full house.

How do I install the DAZ Deals?  and where is it located?

Wherever you get extensions for your browser.  Search for "Daz Deals".

Thanks for the preview mazinkaiserzero... I like it... Sometimes you don't want a whole building in a scene... I like small spaces... The camera can only look so far anyway when you have a character in the scene.  I've seen similar front yards in a few condo complexes by me.  (thumbzzzz up)  If it's not too expensive... I'll probably buy it!

Not 100% sure what do you mean with that, but if you meant that the rocks are flat surfaces with textures on it, nope. Better lighting could have helped but I preferred to use something generic for the renders to avoid over embellishment.

Pd. something I forgot to say, I was hoping Brooke 8.1 would have been also available today, before the platinum pass was over, I feel that would have helped more people on deciding whether to get it or not since, again, I think Gold and Silver are absolutely not worth it. It's nice we got to confirm the extras are not just shrubs but the meat and potatoes are the characters.

    True. Thanks for clarifying.

The house is definitely nothing I need and I rarely use Daz core characters and only buy them because I like the bundle. This deal was not for me but I would have liked the tutorials (assuming they are advanced) and ability to win decent prizes in a contest. But all in all I have very little FOMO.

This looks that there is very little to interact with so it appears to be nothing more than a background, Something I wouldn't even look twice at, so far your attempt at dangling a carrot has fallen flat. Now if it had been a great sci-fi set I might... MIGHT have given it a second thought. Enjoy your cute little 'forum flair'  while I used part of the $149 to buy some great Lilflame outfits somewhere else.

Seeing this, I certainly don't regret spending at the Blender Market sale over the weekend... Of course, the five characters may be wonderful and everything I've always needed in Studio LOL

Between the new season pass and the nft's I have spent 100% of my 3D art budget at other stores, and don't regret it at all.  I don't use G8 and any clothing sets I buy I convert to G3 so the figures never really mattered to me anyway.

same for me. Instead of buying this pass I bought some Blender addons for much less than $150 wink

The first "freebe" is an super easy pass. That house doesn't meet my quality expectations.

To those who do not have a season pass, but yet are disappointed in the "Sunrise Hangout" house, could you describe an asset that you would have been happy to receive as a so-called "free" item?

Not in detail, but I have too much content as it is - so I doubt I'm the target audience for the Pass anyway...

Hard to make everyone happy I am finding.  I myself think it's a wonderful 'free' item.  Since I suck at modeling... I am in awe at what people create for Daz .. and am very thankful ;)  Keep up the good work PAs ;)

The thing is, you just paid $149 dollars for a season pass, do you really think that item you just recieved is a "freebie"? Regardless of the hype and what you read, that wasn't a freebie anymore than a BOGO is a feebie, you had to buy something to get it.

Since no on else has posted...

It's called "Sunrise Hangout" and the images look to be the outside of one, possibly two floor home. The zip file size is 345MB so its not a small model.

The contents of the zip appear to only include exterior maps, so I am assuming its an exterior only or its an empty interior.

My DS machine is currently occupied with maintenance, so I can't render an example. If someone hasn't by tomorrow morning, then I will.

Did you mean to post this in this forum thread?

Edit: Ah, I think i have found the relevance.

I realise it isn't a freebie - which is why I referred to the "Sunrise Hangout" as a "so-called 'free' item". The point is that the two (so-called) "free items" aren't supposed to be the main focus of the season pass; rather, the focus is on a lucky dip of HD base characters, rather than a lucky dip of random 3D assets. But still, what random 3D asset could have been included for you to be left thinking, "Okay, that's acceptable"?

As for me, the "Sunrise Hangout" is an environment I would have paid for at some point. Not at its current price, of course, but it is something I would have eventually picked up. I do hope that Daz never makes the "Sunrise Hangout" an actual free item in future. That would be very poor form, so if someone from Daz reads this - please make a note of that.

Yes! To entice people to take a chance with the Season Pass, it would be good if Daz used highly-rated PAs and then advertised the Season Pass as "Including two new items from [PA names] that won't ever be given away for free later on." If anyone from Daz is reading this - feel free to make a note of that.

Hold up now. I don't want them taking free Stonemasons off the table. Think of us plebs who can't afford a season pass. We want Stonemasons too! But how about this? The season pass holders get to have it first and the item in question can't be given away for free for... idk... 2 years.

I am not interested in in the G8 characters and their HD morphs so this was a no go from the start, but if I had been interested in teh figures, for the price they want it would have needed to be something Sci-Fi, fully interactive, modular and with seperate parts that allowed for customized backgrounds. Especially since you are only getting it 24 hours or less than everyone else.
