As I was cleaning up the kitchen, some water came from a leak above the stove.  It got into my soap water I was trying to heat up to disinfect the colander I used tonight.  Somebody might be on their way to look at it.  I don't know what is going on.

Photoshop behaving itself now,  finally~   For the time being at least!

Just kind of out of nowhere it wasn't working for long, and after spending some time doing other stuff I come back and it's just fine.  How strange but at least its letting me draw xD

one side of the nib on my tablet's drawing pen is worn.  I should look for a replacement nib.

The model I'm using isn't in production anymore, so if my stylus goes out or gets lost I'd be in big trouble T_T

I experienced the annoying bug that happens when I try to render certain skin textures in 3Delight again.  Time to close Daz Studio 4.16 and open it again.  edited for clarity

Check the log - it looks like what happens when a shader fails to compile preoperly and you just get the default surface. If it is that then it should be enought to clear (from memory) the /render/brickyard/ folder in your Daz Studio Temp folder (see Edit>Preferences)

i never knew that the "/render/brickyard" folder existed.  Thanks.

I'm a fan of music, but I found an album that is just a fan.  It is like the artist is just blowing air around.

Just a quick post to advise of a "treasure for tuppence" at NewEgg.  A while ago, I talked about my wonderful Dyson vacuum cleaner that sucked gobs of crap out of my carpets everytime I use it.  Love it!  KK was looking at Dyson stick vacuums but the price was too high.  Well, not today.  Same price as I got my Dyson "V7 Motorhead" for.  ($200 instead of $300 or $400).  This is about as low as they go.  So if anyone is interested in a "Dyson V8 Motorhead", here's the link.

    https://www.newegg.com/p/0JA-000S-000D2?Item=9SIADVWJGC3507&cm_sp=Homepage_dailydeals-_-P3_9SIADVWJGC3507-_-08202022&quicklink=true

I can't guarantee that it's perfect for everyone, and it's refurbished but is shipped directly from Dyson, so it's probably not a scam.  And is worthy of consideration for someone with small vacuuming needs.yes

The "V8" differs from the "V7" by the motor design.  It may be a little beefier than the V7 but the V8 also has a HEPA filter (the blue cannister at the back end of the motor) in addition to the vorticies and the central foam filter.  And yes, you need to replace the central foam filter after it's been cleaned too many times.  (they're not expensive and last quite a while), but I don't know about the HEPA filter, my V7 doesn't have one.   Another thing to watch out for with the motorized head, is to periodically remove the rotating brushes and clean out the ducts to keep them clear of debris build up.  It's super simple.  Just use a large coin to twist the slot on one end of the motorhead.  The first time I discovered that was when the motor started  pulsating slow then fast.  I thought my wonderful vacuum was kaput.sad  But it's a feature, designed to let you know it's getting hard to suck.yes

Oh, god!  I'm blathering again. frown

    Back to lurking.

We didn't say or do anything about the squirrel - considering Chohole's posts still have her club we would be on shaky ground if we did.

Minor Complaint  -  Hoffmeyer's  lernaen hydra's a nice model, but ouch at the polygon count.  230,000+ on the teeth alone, multiplied seven times because seven heads!  Since the teeth don't really have much in the way of texture it was pretty safe to just toss them into zBrush's  Cinema 4D's  Remesher object and then rebind the lower teeth back to the jaw segments and parent the upper teeth to the Head joint.  Doing so reduces the total of a given head's teeth down from 234,064  to 5,870!

It's just a matter of separating the teeth geometry from the heads and running through the above steps for each head.  That's a million less polygons in the scene! :D

The bw wooden mace set 01 for genesis 8 and 8.1 didn't say how big it was and now I found out it can't fit onto a simple floppy disk.  Probably it would need about ten or so floppy disks.  I don't have that many floppy disks.

Wait!  I don't have a CD drive or a floppy disk drive on thie computer!  Also to come to think about it, I don't think I have any floppy disks to put the mace set on.

I don't think that some people know what boundries are.  They might not know what a floppy disk is either.  I think boundries are more important than floppy disks?

Also I think that majority of the quick computer fix software are junk at best. Probably bloat ware and malware at the same time too?

...been away for awhile. Was with some friends on the Oregon coast for the week (first "vacation" in years).so had a lot to catch up on when I got home as I was away from my desktop computers  The forums are really terrible on the phone, too much scrolling to read posts while any images are all stretched out of proportion. Also a pain to write anything of length as it means manually inserting codes for things like page breaks, italics, bold text, etc.

Was extremely relaxing to get out of the city and away from things like news, emails, strung out people shouting at whomever in the middle of the night, and such. Took a few of my kites with me to fly.  Also dodged another heat wave that hit the city as well.

@ Sfariah, good to know you are OK

@ LeatherGryphon don't be too much of a lurker  Will miss your thoughts and tales of adventure.   As to the vacuum, sadly even at 200$ it is a beyond my budget. Trouble is the cheaper ones are just that..."cheap", and often don't a good a job either.  Yeah, would be nice to not have to sweep it (somewhat painful, particularly for one lie myself who has back issues)  Supposedly for next year there is to be a big boost in SS benefits (hearing 10.5%) so maybe after then when there is another sale.

Something good today no "bad gateway" errors yet.

Wanted to give painting  hoffmeyer's  Giganoto in Substance Painter a spin, but had to abandon those plans because the thing's split into 20+ separate textures (WHY is the tail in need of five individual textures on its own?? Wouldn't just one be enough?)  and  Substance treats each and every one of those as materials that can't be painted across,  making painting it almost impossible.  I don't understand why every tutorial and guide I see on the matter says how easy it is to load objects into Painter and paint across materials, when in practice I just see the exact opposite.

Our ex-stray cat has gone missing. My Mum seems to think he's gone off somewhere to... "leave this mortal coil". He hasn't really been around for the last five days, and my father hasn't seen him for eight hours (since this morning). I saw him at 6:30 this morning. He seemed okay to me. He came over, sat down, and had a bit of fuss. My father brought him inside, but didn't want to stay in.  We lost our girl last September. The thought of losing our other cat within a year is hard to process.

EDIT: We've got him. He's in a pretty bad state. His nose is dripping, he's lost a lot of weight, he's losing fur, and he won't eat. And now my father is taking his anger out on my Mum... There is an emergency vet, but we can't afford it. Welcome to the sh*t show.

    EDIT2: He's gone out again :(

...so checked the 48 Hours of Summer Savings sale page and under "legacy items", the first 40 pages of character based content is for G8  (some even G8.1).  Whne I hear the term, "legacy" it usuall means "old" and out of production, sort of like my computer which has an X58 motherboard, Westmere generation Intel CPU, DDR3 memory, and PCIe 2.0 slots, or relating to Daz content, Gen 3 & 4, G1 and maybe G2.

G8 is still sort of Daz's "state of the art" figure.and 8.1 sort of an expansion..

Thank you, both. But it's not looking good.

I went to look for him about half an hour ago, he was hiding beneath our hydrangea bush (it's raining). I'm just going out (again) to see if he's still there. I just wish that he would come in. :(

EDIT: He's still under the bush. But he's stopped "chatting" to me.

Thank you for the best wishes. But he didn't make it. He had Saddle Thrombus (a blood clot). He deteriorated within 2 hours. A cat that I followed on Facebook had one (also PTS)a couple of years ago, that's how I knew what was happening to our boy.

The grief is killing me at the moment. I knew we were going to lose him at some point, I just didn't think it would be this soon.

Plus, my father is causing a lot of problems/stress. At the moment, he's refusing to bury him.

I'm getting to a point where I don't know how much more sh*t I can take from him.

Looks like I'm on hiatus from computer work, again.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss... I'd offer hugs, but I smell horrific at the moment and even if they were electronically conveyed hugs, I'm afraid they might still smell bad.

    Be well.
