nostalgia for my old favorite tv shows feeling intense lately.
we had Barbara Eden, Carolyn Jones, Elizabeth Montgomery.  then was Linda Carter, Lindsay Wagner.

who are the beautiful women of today?

was lookin at magazine covers today, don't recognize most of them.  saw old b&w Shirley Temple on a cover today.

There is turkey bacon... Which is really vaguely bacon flavored turkey... The sweet and low of meat.

That is not bacon.  That is blasphemy.

And I solved the video card issue too.  I had to make sure the old drivers were totally gone before the right drivers can be used.

I had to give up with the second freebie page.  Looks like somebody played 52-card pickup with all the products.  Bigger mess than I've ever seen over here.

I wish you could go to my sister's old dentist in Houston.  First thing they did was ask you "Scotch or bourbon" because he said the alcohol cleaned out gum pockets.  Actually, it relaxed the patients to the point they didn't really care what he did.  Sometimes not having a car sucks.  Saturday I overheated on my pharmacy trip and one of the homeless guys walked me home to be sure I got here okay.  Since then I've been inside with the A/C, but may venture out this morning.  Rain dance may have been successful because we now have rain in our forecast for late this afternoon.

...well big "doctor day" for me today.  Has a follow-up to my blood tests and discovered that am Diabetic-II. Fortunately it is not a serious stage and can be handled by simple meds (no injections *whew*) and diet. Don't even have to perform daily glucose monitoring.

So looks like no more Mexican Coca Cola or pre-sweetened Ice tea though (fortunately I sort of lost my "sweet tooth" left so no candy withdrawl).

Also have to lower the old cholesterol level a bit so looks like lots more lean stuff on the diet (fortunately I like things like fish and chicken breast stir fry).  Doesn't mean I can't still have a burger now & then, just not every other night. Going to try my street tacos with ground turkey (natural/organically fed) this week & see how that works. Probably will have to forego bacon though which will be a real downer.  At least I'm not gluten intolerant, that would be real tough.

Also was sent over to the nearby hospital for imaging of my right hand that has been bothering me over the past several years. Had to get "stuck" again for a blood test to verify my rheumatoid arthritis.

One good thing, I was handed a form to apply for a "Honoured Citizen ID" with our transit system.  This will mean I can get a monthly bus pass for 28$ instead of 100$ and get those "yutes" to get up and give me a seat.

Glad you dodged the bullet on the diabetes.. I take my 2 pills daily and am happy.  Dropping the sugar will be a  pain, it took me ages to learn to check EVERYTHING for sugar, it's even in bread and tortillas!

    Take care of yourself!!

Not to mention that just about everything you eat turns to sugar in your blood!  Not nut, meat, fish...generally proteins.  But fruits, breads, a lot of veggies (especially corn!), fruit juices (not cocktails, that would be obvious, but pure juice...there's more sugar in Welch's 100% grape juice than in Dr. Pepper!).  I have determined that if something tastes good, it's not good for you.  And even some things that don't taste good are bad for you!
