I am not seeing the prince that was promised, Kit Harington. I am seeing the wunderkind, Wil Wheaton.

I can see Wil Wheaton there...  But I do see Kit Harrington there....  Under a layer of Wil Wheaton, certainly.

Mouth is way, way off, and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to bake a characteristic eyebrow crook directly into the texture.

Imperfect characters are great. There are too many perfect characters already. In the end it is at the discretion of the PA.

I think Its pretty close actually, I immediately thought of Kit harrington when I saw the image, then decided to compare it to actual photo's of Kit.

The cheeks need to be a touch fuller around the mouth, the chin a shade wider and the face a touch rounder, and you would get even closer, all achievable with basic morphs, but I can see why you would also see Wil Wheaton in this too.

Yes. And Kit's eyebrows are normally straight, he just crooks them a lot playing Jon Snow. So poor likeness and very much lack of attention to detail. ;)

He looks like a sexed up Wil Wheaton, and the promos make him look strangely depressed. I can sort of see what they were going for, but I cannot unsee the Wil meister, LOL.

Anyone seen a young Mark Hamel, as in Luke Skywalker?

I agree, I think it's the eyes, too big. The King in the North is kind of squinty  The Mad Queen is pretty good

Jon Snow is always depressed because he knows nothing.

On GoT it's more depressing to know things, especially the future.

I told myself I wouldn't buy any more characters, then with the last sale I noticed Octavia again.  I saw her before, thought she was pretty but passed as I didn't have Teen Josie.  I instantly made the connection with the character Octavia from The 100, as I have been watching it now.  She's played by Marie Avgeropoulos.  She's so pretty I had to pick her up.

I can see some resemblance to Marie Avgeropoulos. With a similar hair do the resemblance should be better.

I love the 100 too, and yes, i think she looks really close to Octavia. I'll have to put her on my list but I wish teen Josie would release as a G8 version first..

There is a new character up on Rendo named Vanilla that is the spitting image of Chloe Grace-Moretz

Which one? The only one I see is this older one.

    https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=95233&AID=666

The space between her eyes is far too wide, her nose is wrong and her lips aren't wide and thin enough. Also her chin/jaw line is too short.

I fear your definition of spitting image and mine differ wildly. Not that I don't want one.

I've been trying to create several using FaceGen and I have a lot of morphs at my disposal. Yet some features seem to elude me in my quest to emulate a face.

Some of the most unique features of a face are the shape of the nose and the shape of the mouth... and in ways that morph developers don't seem to support.

Indeed I have trouble discovering the names of the physiological features I'm trying to alter/match, much less relate them to named morphs. Sometimes I can get lucky with some ethnic dial, but more often than not I'm shooting in the dark when I use them.

Sorry, didn't notice my phone autocorrect ed her name. It's Camilla, not vanilla. Heres the link https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/camila-for-genesis-8-female/122329/ad

  • Thanks ChangelingChick for the hot tip. Alex Hair keeps rendering as gray when I choose black. There are several versions of black to choose. All gray. LOL. (so far) I kind of have the same trouble with the Lord of Snow outfit. I even go into materials and try to force black (which is already selected). Still too much gray. Oh well. Sometimes the lighting is to blame.

  • Never mind, I fixed everything (hair and costume) by going into render/materials/advanced and messing with the infernal little boxes with the strings. I made everything black that should be black, then made a few things black that shouldn't be black. May have lost some subtle highlights in the hair, but maybe I can tweak that later. Couldn't fix the snow white shoulder fur, so had to fake it with retouching the render.

And my own face tweaks. The other one was reminding me of Keanu Reeves. Now I'm done. There were a couple nose and chin morphs I needed that may not exist for M4. This might be the best I can do. For now.

That's a much better likeness.  Is that a dialed morph or a custom sculpted one?

  • Thanks! It's a dialed morph. I wish I knew how to do a custom sculpted one. I don't have Lightwave or ZBrush. I'm an actual painter and sculptor in the non-digital world. :-)

Probably a long shot, but has anyone made figures that resemble actors from the TV show Twin Peaks? Specifically I'd love to see Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper), and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne).

Maybe if I ever get good at character modeling I will try to make these...

That's really good for working only with the dials - they can be restrictive.  I don't think you need a high end app for just morph creation.  I know some people even use Hexagon or the free Blender.  Your sculpting experience can only help.  :)

@unizen  I have a Kyle morph but it's for Michael 3.  I know there's a way to transfer morphs from Generation 4 figures to the various Genesis figures but I'm not sure it can be done with M3.   In any case, here's a link to it - it comes in a bundle with many others.   http://www.sharecg.com/v/34481/favorite/11/Poser/The-Many-Faces-of-Moggadeet

I tend to make a lot of hybrid characters so I can use the head from one and body and clothes from another.

  • Trying to do a Felicity Jones head morph.... Any critiques or notes I can use to fix the head (I'm also using FoRender's JynEnso Character to help)

IIRC you can morph with Sculptris also.

  • Seems to me that most the celeb morphs show up at Rendo. At least the ones that are very close likenesses like those Game of Thrones ones and not "this sort of looks like x". Does Daz shy away from accepting them in their store or is it just a coincidence, I wonder...

  • There are straight match likenesses in the DAZ store also. I think the naming and advertising shots are just less blatant.
  • Daz is more cautious about direct celebrity likenesses because it can get them sued. If something is too close, lawsuit. Aside from a specifically licensed exact likeness (that the celebrity was involved in the creation with), I haven't seen any in the Daz store that weren't blends or had very specific differences from the inspired celebrity.

  • Bad news, I didn't save the progress of the last Felicity Jones Head Morph so I had to start from the first one.... :-(

Good News, I tried to recreate what I did and I found to way to show the teeth, It might be a pose preset if choose to use it....
