Ignore the dead people - walk around them, just keep moving. Good humans.
And I didn't even program them to walk around the casualties, so it could have been more orderly still.
Interesting fact is that if one has cap lock on and didn't know it, it can mess up putting in passwords. Actually I used to know someone who used her computer almost all the time with caplocks on. Never figured out why.
when my dad was younger he would type notes in all caps into Microsoft Word. Now he just writes on paper.
...*Sigh*...
....would love to disable the Caps Lock key but it requries messing around with the registry.
I guess if you only use a limited number of softwares
but it actually serves a function in some like Carrara (move pivot point)
and a few others it does stuff too
...due to he lack of dexterity in my hands I've looked up to see a portion of what I was typing in all caps. as I accidentally hit that key from time to time..
I also used to have issues with the "Windows" key that would initiate a shutdown of the system but found a utility that disables it.
Well that sucks... Could the framing be some sort of form?... Usually the building codes require the stairs in a multi storied building like that would be concrete (poured using a form) or steel framed... or something fireproof... As it tends to complicate fire fighting efforts when the stairs are on fire too.
I use Format>Text>tOGGLE cASE in Libre Office Writer in those cases.
Hi, everybody! Long time no see. I hope you're all well. I'm cooking trays and trays of bacon this beautiful Florida Saturday, and there's a lot of standing around and waiting...so I thought I'd duck in here and say hello.
Have a lot of you been moving to Genesis 9? For those who have, how's it going?
These days, work is over the top busy with performance reviews and pay raises coming up soon. I've also been getting my garden ready for planting in March. Planting seeds indoors on those cold days that we still have. It's fun watching the little seedlings come up; feels like I'm a kid in kindergarten all over again, lol!
Well...gotta go. The last tray just finished. After I bag up and fridge/freeze these, I think I'll make up a crate of hard boiled eggs. And after that, I'm going to have a BLT with egg that's fit for a king!
I am trying to figure out my storage issues as my laptop doesn't have much storage.
This sounds like at least two simple math problems to me. The first requires figuring out how much storage you need to add, and the second is how much money you need to subtract in order to make that happen. The power of math is always yours to wield!
I wonder if there will be a Girl 9?
...welcome back.
To have a few of those "cold Florida days" for some of us up here in the north country would be a welcome January thaw. Lows the next few nights here in Portland OR will be in the low to mid 20s which is about 15° (F) below normal even for us. Likely it's due to the same cold air mass that hit Japan and South Korea earlier in the week.
As to G9, Not even considering it, Not only are there compatibility issues, but need to put money towards a system update/upgrade to move to W11. Yeah, W7 finally hit the end of the line as the latest Daz Public Release requires a new Nvidia driver that doesn't support the older OS and Google is also dropping W7 support as well which means no more "zero day" patches.
I'm cold. Probably because I'm wearing a tank top. I'm wearing pink sweatpants, but with a tank top.
...just had a serious situation occur.
With the 4.21.0.5 General release and Nvida driver 472.39 I've had display driver failures from time to time. Today the programme completely crashed while I was in Iray View and on working just a single character with no scenery or props. The crash also caused my display driver to fail as well/ I restarted the system and everything booted up fine (I had both displays functioning again so I decided to roll back to the original required driver (471.41) however the install failed part of the way through leaving me with no video driver at all. When I attempted to install it again it told me there was another "install wizard" running that needed to be closed but it doesn't show up in the Task Manager Applications Tab.
There are four Nvidia processes showing in he processes tab two named: nvcontainer. exe (one of which indicates it is disabled) and two named NVDISPLAY.CONTAINER.exe. I'm guessing one of each pair must be a duplicate but not sure which one. I'm afraid if I click "end process" on either of them I will lose all video.
Not sure what to do as I've never had a driver installer fail before. Afraid to do a restart as I may get nothing afterwards. I downloaded a fresh version of the 471.41 driver as maybe the one I had became corrupted but again am able to do nothing until I can track down that open installer wizard and close it.
Update
Not sure what happened, as I decided to install a newer driver I hadn't yet used and it installed fine, no crash, no error message about another "installer wizard" still running. Strange indeed. So I'll see how this one does with 4.21. If the issue persists I'll go back to 4.20. Still wondering if there is a bug in the general release as there have been a couple 4.21 betas since and I didn't bother with them as they require a driver that no longer supports Windows 7.(516.93) The last viable driver for Windows 7 is 474.11.
Booting into Safe Mode might help.
Dana
...everything still worked save for I only had one display and there was noticeable lag in graphics performance. At least it didn't default to basic VGA which meant the GPU was still passing the video signal through but without all the Nvidia enhancements and speed..
I'm pretty sure it may have been the driver I was using, as since I installed a newer one, haven't seen any issues, even the white flickers I was getting as a character or scene loaded.
Eventually when I get enough put away for the upgrade, things should run a lot smoother. The newer meshes and textures, along with dForce, are just too demanding for decade old hardware.
Florida is great. Except for the heat, zikasquitos, alligators, and snakes. But I'm still alive, so that counts! So far, cross fingers, not even Covid has gotten me. But I work from home now and 98% of my time out of the house is spent in the garden or the butterfly sanctuary, and the rest is spent at Publix, Lowes-Depot, or Lukas Nursery, haha. But I've been thinking about finally getting another health club membership, so that may be on my horizon.
Not surprised at things going out of support. We have to get tough with our corporate users for running old versions of Windows Server, Linux, Unix, Oracle, or SQL Server. Corporate issues the edicts for us to enforce current software requirements (plus it's getting harder to find parts for hardware), but doesn't really give us authorization to be militant. By militant, I mean give the users a full year notice to upgrade or lose it, and then shut it off after a year + 1 day. I think we still have Windows Server 2008/R2 out there somewhere, and there's really no excuse for that.
On the personal computing side...when I built my new Windows computer over the summer, I also rebuilt the old computer, just with a new case, GPU, water cooler, SSD, and monitor. This "old new" machine, which is in the kitchen with an also-new 32" monitor, could run any music, graphic, or other creation apps almost as well as the new 12900 can do, but it gets flagged as not compatible with Windows 11. I'm not in a hurry for W11, but eventually I'll need to make the move too. I think the old board may just need a TPM module.
On one hand, I'd hate to let this go to waste since the CPU and motherboard are only 7 years old. But on the other hand, I've got a never-used i7 11700 CPU just sitting in the living room, so all I might need to do is just buy a new motherboard and memory for it. I forget if the Alienware laptop can run Windows 11, so I'll need to check on that one of these days.
And then there's the whole drama with Nvidia. The 12900 machine has a 3080 TI in it, and this one has a 3050 in it. Would love to get a 4090, especially if I think I might be able to get back into rendering in the next year or two. The power and heat requirements are pretty stiff, but worse than that is what Nvidia has been doing to its smaller board makers. See either the Gamer's Nexus or Jayztwocents YouTube channels on EVGA's exit from the business of making boards using Nvidia GPUs if you want to know more.
But building PCs is a hot-summertime activity for me. This time of year, I'm getting the garden and butterfly sanctuaries ready for business. Only about 4 weeks 'till planting!
It's probably the all that steel armor plating... in some case reactive armor may add a little bit of insulation, but if it's cold you shouldn't really wear tank parts, especially the top, because the turret is notoriously the coldest part of tanks in general... modern western armor has better air circulation, but if you are wearing some of that old eastern bloc, Soviet era armor like a T-72 (lots of spare parts these days) you are just going have to deal with the cold... in general tanks are just giant rolling heat sinks, sure they look great with pink sweatpants, but they are hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so it's always a losing proposition unless people are always shooting at you... then it makes sense... unless you are wearing a T-72 turret, in which case you might as well just surrender.
Disclaimer: The previous statement is in no way meant to imply that wearing tanks parts manufactured by any particular nation in the context of fashion will or will not make you more popular or interesting and should not in any way be construed as an endorsement for used armor, intact or still smoldering to be purchased as a fashion accessory. Furthermore, in the event one finds themselves being shot at frequently they should contact the authorities before purchasing heavy steel armor.
I want to take a nap, but llama says NO!!!!
I have been procrastinating too much!
I've never seen a llama made of buckles before! That's a bit frightening. I think I'll stick with Florida's alligators and snakes, both of which have been seen around my house!
I actually quite enjoyed this except for maybe the brain damage part. And a possibly fun fact about me is, I'm equidistant from each coast in the United States. At the time I'm typing this, people in this area are fairly excited that some big game is going to be played here instead of some "neutral location".
One day my prints will come! I ordered some prints weeks ago, but I don't know where they are?
Hmmm, very interesting! I never had that problem because I was born with mine. I have one on the end of each finger and toe.
I want to play with Genesis 9 but I don't have much content for Genesis 9.
I don't feel well. I think I have a headache so I took a pain killer.
I took a nap while I thought my iPad was charging. Apparently I accidently turned off the power strip around the time I plugged in the iPad. I didn't notice until after I checked the battery level of my iPad and went to investigate why it didn't charge at all.
Does anyone know where I put my glasses?
...that happens to me a lot lately.
