I had it in my cart briefly until I noticed it was for G8. At this point, I'm no longer buying G8-specific items like shapes and utilities.
I saw that but I still use G8 charaacters as well as G9 ones. I also hope there will be a G 9 version forthcoming
I didn't notice, so thank you paulawp (marahzen) for alerting me to that. I have pretty much stopped working with G8 and G8.1. I also am not sure that I wouldn't have to pay full price for a G9 version of this utility if/when it was released, even if I don't return it. Now I have to decide if I will return it to DS within 30 days. I have only done it a few times.
I never thought anyone was still releasing ONLY for G8/G8.1 at this point!? Of course this is great for those who have not moved to G9.
I totally missed that product. Looks mighty nice. Only thing always gets me are the textures. Young, midlife, and old, elderly. There is a lot of difference in the skin as we age. The skin texture products are just not there for the under teen kids or the oldsters. Very few overall.
Ok, I'm loosing the 'battle'... Lightning deals sweatened the deal with "Bachelor and Bachelorette Mega Bundle" at 93% off ($6.82), so they are practically twisting my arm to make a purchase on a Wednesday...
Now I have 2 hours to pull the trigger.
This is the drawback of the shapes products. I like to render my characters at various life stages, but it is difficult to get a consistent set of textures across the age periods that either look like the same person at a different age or don't look like every other character at the different ages.
At that price it may be worth it. I bought it when it first came out. I have used most of it except the sets and that pink sweater which still seems to have an issue with its ribbing. But 3 hairs for a sale price of 1! Yeah good buy. Add in a good standing pose set, two characters, it is a score.

I don't think the years treat her that good past forty, especially the chin and the nose start standing out more than I have noticed them to do
Ages 0 to 3, the character has a baked in fetal pose that gets lesser with age
Ages past 60 get a baked in slouch
But, I like it very much

Zev0 has assured us in another thread that there will be a G8M version. Like Auto Muscle Enhancer for G8F, this is a product that D.Master was working on a few years ago when tragedy struck, so the priority was to get those out first before developing new products, like the G9 equivalents. I don't know how much involvement D.Master has in these new products outside of turning their files over to Zev0.
According to the page description: The set includes larger buildings designed to give your scenes a greater sense of scale. Most of the doors, windows, and gates open, and basic interiors are included.
I did a quick check, and doors do open. Interiors are very basic at a quick glance.

Sophia 9 says 5' 10.8" (189.8 cm) in the listing. 189.8cm seems like an error in the listing (should more be 179.8cm if in the fact the figure is just under 5' 11").
Anyone with measure metrics able to confirm what the actual figures height is?
I was relieved to see the promos for dForce Salvage Tech show the outfit actually functioning as clothing:
The thumbnails for both the outfit and the texture expansion, and also some of Sophia's own promos, just show the outfit as basically sexy cosplay, which I have no interest in. A functional set of coveralls, though? All day.

Short Pixie Cut looks neat, but why is there not one single promo shot from the front?
Yes, the promos of that are very tempting.
I rather like the character. Seems a very good "character actor" type. But I'm not sure that I need her. I have way too many characters already.
Sophia 9 kinda reminds me of Sofia Coppola. Pity about the clothes in her bundle.
I really like the character, but the bundle ... SciFi AGAIN?! No thanks ... Why do we always have to ride these marketing themes forever?
The mechanics suit seems nice and useable though. Would have loved for the bag to have some more natural morphs, no bag hangs as stiff as that from a hand. But the suit itself is very nice.
Does anyone know if the new short pixie cut hair strand based? If it is I can't use it, ...to resource heavy ... If it's not strand based I will probably buy it.
