I suppose I shouldn't be answering questions at 1 am... I realized the "'wait' dingleball," or swirly, meant something was allegedly still working. What I meant was, I had no idea what process was causing it to continue to swirl. LOL
In any event, I'm happy to hear clearing the cache solved the problem. These days, anytime I screw something up, the first thing I do is clear the cache...
I'll certainly be remembering to clear the cache from time to time. You're a lifesaver!
So, how can we convince ZevO that not every woman's nipples and areolas should be dark brown, or magenta or purple? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed that in real life, some women's nipples are pink.

With my rudimentary texturing skills, the hard way would be well-nigh impossible and the end result would show it.
Not to snivel, but if I had known that adding tone to a certain part of the skin was a one-way street (to the dark end of the street), I probably wouldn't have bought SB3. I've been trying to create a fair-skinned Scandinavian character who could leave home pale and come back from her holiday with a tan, complete with tan lines (or not, depending where and under what circumstances she acquired it). No prizes for guessing what color I thought her Nordic pre-holiday nipples should be.
SB3 looked like the answer to my prayers, especially since the included tan lines are more convincing than some others I've seen. Oh well.

No worries. It is a powerful and very useful tool, but I'm surprised and somewhat disappointed by (what seems to me is a) major limitation, or oversight. Guess I'll have to try my hand at retexturing. *gulp*
Photoshop and most editing programs have the ability to replace a range of colors within a selection with a different range of colors. The colors you pick will be the dominant ones. This may take some experimenting. Don't forget to duplicate the image layer first (and work on the duplicate layer), in case you're not happy.

Now, why would I want to work on a copy instead of the original? Thanks, fastbike1, it never hurts to be reminded...as I found out time after time playing Morrowind, which doesn't have an 'Autosave' function. Ah, those simple bygone days...
You could use map transfer to convert stuff G3F<>G3M, I think (I THINK it works with G3 mapping), but that's a few extra steps. Also you then can't use it as a merchant resource.
If you have the G3F map for G3M, of course, you could then use the output.

Speaking of the hard way, I came up with a solution for Vwrangler, who wanted white freckles. For a one off, it may be the way for you to get those pink nipples. Once you have the base skin, you won't need to create others, will you? Anyway, here's a link to the comment: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2401831/#Comment_2401831
It isn't the most elegant solution, but it doesn't require you to make any changes to Skin Builder 3. You'd only need to do this with the torso map, and you might have to try a couple times before you end up with something you like...

Yes the Genesis 8 version will have lots of changes, eg applying lashes to the seperate eyelash geometry, possible eye map rework to cater for Genesis 8 eye geometry change, possible shader changes, as well as texture order renaming in order to make it MR ready for Genesis 8. For those who have the Genesis 3 version they will just pay an upgrade price if they are interested in the Genesis 8 version. Hopefully after that I can add in the addon pack that I had planned, but it would be easier to develop once I have both G3 and G8 versions complete.
Just for the record, the Genesis 8 Update you're working on is at "shut up and take my money" levels of priority for me when it comes out. I've just bought this product to add to my ever-growing catalogue of Zev0 content and utilities.. However, my first impressions are far from being, well, impressed. Firstly, try as I might I can't seem to create a skin with any gloss/specularity (Iray) - they are all coming out dull mat. Secondly, the sliders don't seem to work for the vein settings (it's all or nothing). Thirdly, the lowest setting for freckles is still far too crowded over the nose and cheeks. Fourth (and this is still first impressions so I have not explored everything yet) the nipple colour blend starts at dark and only gets darker which looks awful on a pale skin. Even if I set the blend colour to white and visibility to zero the nipples are still too dark. And yes, I've seen the comments about nipple colour above but am not paying for a product that required me to use Photoshop or some other tool to achieve a satisfactory result.

I do have to kinda defend Zer0 here, but gloss/specularity isn't a thing you can create from skin textures (even if you can force add them onto the texture, it is a very very very bad idea to do) which means it is actually not a thing you can do from SB3. You might want instead to look for some good shaders to apply onto the texture you created from SB3 that does not look flat

Ok, that shows my lack of understanding. I thought it was a kind of shader but I guess it just produces textures. Or maybe that's the wrong word too.
EDIT: I'm not sure what I was doing wrong earlier but I've just messed with the slider (Oily, etc.) in SB3 and managed to get the skin to shine. Perhaps there is a specific sequence that must be followed?
Now I'm on to second impressions and I'm considerably more impressed. I still have some of those initial reservations - especially about the nipples - but I'm now finding out about the potential of this product so it definitely won't be returned for a refund.
I'm creating a skin for a character that was originally G2F based (Belletrix) and is now, thanks to GenX-2, a G3F morph. I didn't have a way of transferring the original skin but I'm having fun making a new skin for her.
I found out what was causing SB3 to lock up on me, and it wasn't the program caches: 3rd-party naughty bits, i.e. morphable female genitals. Once I deleted those from the character I was working on (simply making them invisible won't do) everything was hunky-dory...except, of course, for those dark-as-night nipples.
It seems SB3 can handle the 'gens' included with various V7 packs, but doesn't know what to do with certain others. Sorry if that sounds rude or suggestive, because it wasn't meant to.
I only mention it because others may have invested in both, and wondered why SB3 was locking up. And it's not a criticism of SB3, since I don't see how ZevO could have allowed for the possibility.

If you mean the 3FeetWolf set, you don't need to load them initially. Set up your skin and when you are happy, add the gens which will duplicate the underlying torso/hip texture. You can even add PH to the figure and the 3FeetWolf set will inherit that too.
What I've been doing today: set up the skin and all overlays, eybrows, p.hair, etc. Then add the 3feetWolf gens, then use the Screen Optimizer product to reduce the texture sizes and "bake" the LIE textures created when the gens are added.

It's best to only load the gens after the skin has been built so it can copy all the skin details over to the genitals afterwards.
I’ve been working on several Z Brush morph for the G3F for a while now but I had no luck in creating a decent skin for any of my figures mostly due to my own lack of art skills. So when I first saw this I was so excited that I may be able to use this as a merchant resource to get some of my figures out on the market. I had been saving to get this for a while and just purchased it today. To my dismay it does not seem to be working for me. I tried to see if anyone here has had the same problem. After finding nothing I decided to post the issue. If there is a more appropriate or troubleshooting thread for this please let me know.
For reference I did the download and install through install manager. When I go to the product and attempt to activate the script I get an error that the script failed to execute and to check the log. Where I find this message.
Loading script: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/people/genesis 3 female/materials/skin builder 3/skin builder 3.dseFailed to load script: C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/people/genesis 3 female/materials/skin builder 3/skin builder 3.dse
So I uninstalled, and reinstalled and got the same result. Is there a problem with the product and the recent DAZ update? or could I be having another issue.
Hi, I'm back to ask more annoying questions. Can you or some one here explain the pupil color control? I am looking to make differently shaped pupils. Like cat slits and heart shapes etc.. I would like them to change color with the pupil control if possible. I have tried doing black shapes. These cover up the pupil so no color. When I do white the shape changes color with the eye not the pupil. Then I end up with a black pupil in the center of my shape.

I have the exact same problem, I don't know what to do :(
Do you have a G3F figure loaded and selected before you run the Skin Builder script? You have to start that way, Skin Builder needs a figure to build the skin on.

Yes I am making Shure to have it selected. I'm using the default genesis 3 female with the default base UVs for all attempts in order to minimize possible issues from non-basic UVs.
I have been trying this with several different system setting over the last few days with still no luck. I have an older system that was considered High End back in 2009 but it’s starting to show its age. My system lags quite heavily when running the LIE and I know skin builder works on some similar principles. So I thought it could be a issue with video card, memory or processor compatibility.
However in all cases it seems that the script dose not even attempt to process. In other words the failed to load message is instantaneous without any system lag like it is trying to run the script and then failed due to insufficient resources. This leads me to think either the file is corrupted or some of the scripting and/or installation paths are incorrect.
The Skin Builder interface windows are too long for my monitor (the taskbar at the bottom of my Win 10 64 bit covers the bottom of the Skin Builder window), so I can't access the settings at the bottom.
The bottom of my screen (1920x1080) has a taller taskbar than usual (2 rows). But I'm assuming tht those with smaller screens will have this problem as well (say if you are using a 1366x768 monitor).
I cannot resize the Skin builder window to make the window shorter by grabbing the corners, although I can widen the window. Obviously, I can't grab the lower corners, 'cuz they are under my taskbar. Grabbing the top of the window only moves the entire window down, and won't resize the window.
There are no resizing options (i.e. maximize, minimize, etc.) in the upper corner of the window.

Help!
The resurgence of low displays (768 pixels) is a pain - they seemed to be dieing out, then manufacturers switched to 16:9 aspect reation and back they bounced. One option is to put focus on the last visible control (click/unclick so you don't chnage its state) and use the tab key to move it to the desired button (a bit of trial and error may be needed) and hit the space bar to push the now selected button.

Any timeline for the Genesis 8 version? or at least a port of the actual one that works on 8 directly?
I have the exact same problem, I don't know what to do :(
@ Rose Reaper and Realityshiftga:
I'm having a problem using this product.
