@stezza, not a bad idea. I was going to make a small library of eyebrow styles for V4 and M4 but no reason I couldn't do the same for the younger lot.

You should save him for Christmas,  hang some baubles and fairy lights from his horns,  better than a christmas tree any day.

Mistara - I have been playing with G8F with a view to looking at animations, as part of which I exported the skeleton as a BVH. And the bones in the feet looked very strange, with some toe bones pointing up and being much longer than they should be - this reminded me of the results you were getting on the feet so I thought that I would mention it.  Something is definitely very odd on those feet!

if they dont fix it, it'll carry over to shoes, the next '8' character, might carry over to g8m

I've submitted a support ticket on this as it can't be right.

I remember Fenric reporting a problem with the feet of Miki4 and similar Poser "weightmapped" figures for his CR2 plugin.  Wonder if it a similar issue with G8?  (sorry about the use of the term weightmapped, but unfortunately that was the jargon Smith Micro used to distinguish pre- and post- Poser 9 figures).

Here is the old Fenric stuff to address the Poser 9+ figures.

    http://fenric.com/wordpress/downloads/
    Poser Weightmap Injector (free!)
This is a .NET 4.0 utility and instructions to help you prepare weight-mapped Poser figures for use in Carrara. This also includes a Poser Pro 2012 Python script that will automatically merge all “old style” rigging zones to weightmaps. This results in far better performance when the figure is imported into Carrara.

    Thanks Phil :)

    it's fun to do.

Those look great. I've never had much luck getting that set to look realistic.

  • magaremotomagaremoto Posts: 1,227

    thank you Brian,

but where or when did you find issues? shaders, lighting or what? maybe I can help

in my opinion you must act first on shaders since they have been prepared for iray, in carrara they look unrealistic, too dirty and unbalanced

another shot here with a morning light

My renders of the Streets of London just look flat. I've adjusted the shaders by changing highlights, shininess, etc, but they still don't pop like your image. Here's a couple of mine. Any suggestions?

here is another couple of shots after normalization in post

as you can see some textures look darker as if wet with rain, some others seem too dirty or too bright

about your renders maybe I would increase the light intensity and/or the GI, and would add fake lighting from the horizon line and from the sky (I often use a double ring lamp like in the screenshot below to avoid IL and lower down the sky light)
