eeeek reminds me of the big inflateable fleas (a product promo) in the vet waiting room
do you think its parents wil be upset?
lovely render :) you not using that gamma thing? it gives a weird glow on fur
weird and true combination :) congrats!
he looks like a dancer, great pecs ;)
Thank you, Andrew. You guessed it, I thought of him as a dancer.
I did something sort of similar about a year ago for a book cover.... kit-bashed Cat Folk from that 'other site' with Genesis and DAZ Cat Character... adding makeup and wings, all kinda weird but he liked it. Silene
I am doing some tests with lights and mirrors.
Also learning the VWD-plugin. The raincoat is the Genesis Pirat-Coat.
another test on G8F: cloudy fog + hdr + area light

cool renderings
I'm waiting on some ants to turn up at Hivewire3D
Peabugs?
nope.. it's a flea
my Mum told me off for burning ants with a magnifying glass
she said it was cruel
so
she sprayed them with Mortien
I thought at least some had a chance of escape from me
yep.. was fun being a kid and sizzling them little things
I bouned my tennis ball on them it was less smell, now I wouldnt even kill a cockroach - strange aye? (though there is a possum I have me eye on) ...
I haven't seen our possum since last summer!
ah, I will let you hav ours, it breaks into our studio and eats our paints, then defecates on the really bad paintings - good to have a critic....
maybe put out a canvas with contact cement to stick the poo to when he visis, and sell it as marsupial art
platypusses a sneaks in critter?
No, platypuses are shy and like to stay in and around their watering hole...
I had a random idea just now, don't know if this has been done before, but I created a 'fake' lens to put over the camera and distorted the 'lens' geometry. I'm sure it is not grounded in any optic reality at all, but might have some interesting applications.
The 'lens' is just a default clear glass shader (selected geometry) and the cylinder part is black.
Edited to add: Don't understand why the background turns black looking through the fake lens, but I'm sure there is a work around.
DesertDude, what a cool idea! I too wonder if someone has done this before.
Just finished an animated render...a crude experiment but may spark ideas...no doubt easier to achieve in a 2D compositing app, but this is Carrara so, lots of possibilities because... we can!
Probably could be just a flat subdivided plane over the camera 'lens'
Really cool idea, ShadowDude!
One can do that in a compositing software but it's difficult to follow the camera movements, here it's done in the render.
Good for underwater scenes or alcoolic views.
Light to transparence is enabled, I suppose (black background), may be you render with alpha?
Thanks for this tip!
Hi DUDU
I was very close to those alcoolic views last evening, which is now turning into today...
Strangely, rendering through the fake lens, the background turns black. I don't know why (...yet).
I did not render with an alpha channel.
I had this problem a few time ago with a helicopter, the camera was too near the window...
Very cool effect, especially when animated!
Thanks Phil!
carrara6 - victoria2 - p4 casual man - p5 don casual - etc
