Ok, here's an attempt at adding some bumps around the ear. I couldnt get much detail along the jawline because of the mesh I guess. If this works for everyone then I'll upload it soon.

    Oh, yes!

Was playing around with Sculptris and came up with this vorta like morph. I realize now that the ear hole is a little high, but other than that it looks pretty cool, I think.

    David

    that looks really good

Paul's request for a larger TOS era Romulan bridge set me thinking . None of the Romuan bridges had seats so all the consuls would be standing only and of course you would need to incorporate a central periscope unit. Just playing around in Hexagon this is what I have so far. ignore the garish colors I am just setting up seperate walls so i can have different views. Comments suggestions welcome

Say, Bluto! That's pretty slick work!

Nabbing your bump map and using no morphs, just your texture plugged into the bump and displacement channels, I was able to whip up this. (Ignore the mismatched ear.)

    Sincerely,

    Bill

OK...I need an opinion here. I have been working on adding the uniform stripe to the M4 and V4 uniform textures put out by jedman67. I think I may have cracked the code on the M4 uniform, using his TWOK uniform as a template on how the stripe should be shaped.

If it's good enough, I'm tempted to put them up on ShareCG - it's two replacement files (the diffuse and bump) and notes on how to change the diffuse color of the appropriate segment of the tunic.

Thoughts? Be gentle. This is my first time doing anything like this.

that looks pretty slick bill .
it could almost be one of the undiscovered country cookie cutter klingon ridge patterens

i just wish that there were more and better paint tools built into sculptris.
as it is i had to take it into gimp and blend and smooth the map a bit .
oh well at least now i have a kind of way to add an extra level of detail on top or my morphs
. its a bit tricky though , i got most of that by trial and error, but as they say practice makes perfect and as i do more the better they will get .

    stay tooned

I'm sure zBrush could do better, but that program is just out of my budget range.

david , dont feel all alone i would love to own zbrush as well , but it just costs too much.

I think it looks really good and responds well to mixing with other M4 morphs.

I don't know how you create these, so this suggestion may be impossible to implement, but here goes.

Could you do a 'no ear's morph, then concentrate the Vorta shape only on the areas where the face texture is? That way, a bump map could be made to give the look of the horizontal ear ridges without competing with the ears where it would get all distorted?

    Yes.

Do you need it poserized too or would you prefer to do that yourself?

Here's the V4 version (finally)...need to tweak the uniform on this character a millimeter or two, but the cuffs came out as expected....

Thanks. :) I'm debating trying to develop an admiral's version of each set, although I can foresee the belt and rank being an issue (more the latter - I've not seen a set like there is for the officer and provisional ranks).

Props to blubeetle3 to pointing me in the right direction.
