Peh. Really are too many people like this: http://taesospiritdragon.deviantart.com/journal/The-Nerve-of-people-asthma-related-350204038

Is really making me hate people right now >_>
Can barely think or move, and people around her mocking and taking advantage of it. "Hey let's ram her over with this cart" and "Ohh so sorry, but you have to pay 40$ extra because you forgot to use your card while nearly coughing to death. Sux to be you loser."

If I had the money I'd commission her for something, but until next month I'm broke DX

Diet Coke really isn't the sort of thing you should be having just before bed, and while feeling out of sorts... ($0.02c <(v_v)).</p>

Rum and hot milk maybe? ;-)

eta: actually, scratch that, the milk is likely to interfere with the absorption of your meds... just the rum then? ;-)

Thanks, but rum is out because I'm diabetic.
Sipping a Diet Coke has always helped my stomach settle. Just enough to bring the gas off my tummy. Used to be regular Coke, but you know - diabetes. :)

Try ginger ale then, you still get the gas to bubble up, plus ginger has benefits, and there's no caffein. I generally don't care for diet sodas, but the Waist Watcher's ginger ale isn't bad.

Oooo...want Chocolate Cake! Can't eat it because of the diabetes but that doesn't mean I can't WANT it.
What I really want is some Hershey Kisses with the liquid caramel centers. Someone please eat some for me!

I just had a Dark Chocolate kiss...same brand anyway.

Complaint: flu most of the weekend, flu Monday, flu Tuesday. Still feeling off today but at work.

    Blech, blech, blech!

Coffee time.. might help me feel less blecherous and cantankerous..

some of the campbells chickie soup?

I have Campbells Chunky Chicken Noodle, it's going to be lunch! :)

I feel a LOT better today than I did Saturday, no fever, just tired.. but I'm earning money even tired so I'm happy-ish. Only going to get 23 hours in this week, but February rent is already in the bank so it's not a big deal.

Gotta save for that i7 monster machine!

I'd love to get an i7.

Hey, didn't you used to be a fish? :-P

Second, even though the GPU is seen in the BIOS, I am stuck with crappy VGA on the display. Putting things together was a lot easier than I thought. getting it all to talk together seems to be another thing.

I have thrown out all the shoes that were not originally mine. the house lady wants me to throw out zebra print shoes or something with zebra print. I have nothing with zebra print. I only have three pairs of shoes. A white tennie pair, a black tennie pair, and a blue flipflop pair.

I was not happy that the House lady made me throw out those shoes, but I did not do anything to fight against her. From what I understand, the shoes used to belong to another client. House lady had a hissy fit and threw some of the client's shoes and shirts away. I do not think the house lady had any right to do that.

Another thing that happened the other day, the house lady woke my roommate and I at three am to do a closet search. I am already suffering from insomnia so that was not good for me. Also what was she doing awake at three am and worrying about some missing articles of clothing of hers. She thinks I might be responsible for the missing clothes because some of my clothes was found in her hamper. The hamper is in front of the washer but behind the dryer. They must have dropped while I was putting the clothes from the washer into the dryer.

I do not steal from someone's clothes hamper. I know that someone wants them instead of nobody wants them. Also why would I leave some of my clothes into her hamper if I was trying to steal from her.

Yeah I took the shoes out of the garbage, but I thought once it is in the garbage, no one owns them. Also the shoes and shirts reminded me of all the stuff I lost when I moved to this state. I was evicted and I could not save everything. It was amazing I could get anything out of there.

I have no reason to take some clothes in a hamper that is not mine. I do not take stuff that is being used by someone else. House lady has asked twice to look in my car for lost items. WTF? She does not understand me at all. Also her logic seems screwed, specially the clothes in her hamper. Also she does not seem to understand why I took those shoes.

...your houselady sounds like a totally insecure person who wants to blame others for her shortcomings so she can feel she's in control. This does not seem to be a positive living environment, particularly as others have apparently have been talking about you behind your back.

If this house is administered and/or supported financially by a state, county, or city agency, I think you may have some grounds for issuing a formal dispute.

..but if ,as I mentioned, she is under the auspices of a state or local agency, she may be overstepping her bounds.

I have a very low tolerance of seeing people in need being mistreated. From what I have been reading, Kulay is being unfairly mistreated, not only by the "house mother" but others in this group home. This kind of thing has been the subject of headlines and inquiries before. Just because someone is given some title doesn't give them the licence to make someone else's life miserable. Negative reinforcement in a situation like this is not beneficial, it is destructive and only makes matters worse.

This has touched a very sensitive nerve of mine.

I guess you got lucky. But still, the general idea is not appealing to me at all. I spent time in a commune in the 1969-1970 era, but that's not quite the same thing. It was probably a lot more fun! I only stayed there on the weekends during school, now and then. I mostly visited, spent a lot of time there, and went home most nights.

There should be an applet like "Disk Manager" or a "Manage Disks" button somewhere, you will need to use it to PARTITION the drive, is easy even I can do it, but I don't have much win hardware around and not win 7 or 8 so not sure what everything is called now. But Partitioning the disk is what you have to do to assign it a drive number that shows up on the windows desktop :)

I'm sure that happens a lot. I'm not saying everywhere, of course, but I bet it happens a lot more than they would like you to know. I'm not going to comment any more on it, because I don't know her situation...well, not totally. I do kind of know how she ended up in that place, though. I didn't know about this development until I just joined the conversation yesterday.

Partitioning hard disks is very old school...and I don't see it as required. I am still running Windows XP Pro 32 bit and I had a 1TB drive that wasn't partitioned...until it died and when the shop I brought it to replaced it, they partitioned the new one. Again, probably because of old school thinking.

But as I said, I hate doing hardware, and I'm not up on the latest. But I would think that things have gotten better with the newer OS's, not worse.

...through these forums I consider Kulay to be a friend of mine. I don't take very kindly to having my friends being taken advantage of.

Yeah, I'm a bit old school in these days of "disposable everything" When it comes to people, particularly those I care about, it crosses the line. This is a major theme in my namesake's backstory.

...apologies, but this kind of stuff really chafes my hide.

Partitioning doesn't mean dividing, although you can do that. Once a drive has a partition you can format it and assign a label.

As I said, I'm on your side. I hate that kind of thing, too. I've been taken advantage of enough in my lifetime, not the same situation as her, but it doesn't matter...it still hurts, and sucks. I don't wish it on anyone. And I've never thought of friends as disposable, believe me. The same can't be said of those friends' attitude towards me, though, it seems.

That's odd...since the word partition means a separation or division. It seems nobody cares what words mean these days, they just use (or I should say misuse) what they want and assume everyone agrees with their definition. That is, when they can even spell the word correctly.

Good to know, then. I'm sure I'll have to do something like this in the future. My best friend, who also did my hardware and setup for me a lot, passed away unexpectedly in September. So I have to learn stuff now, to keep my own machines working. I miss him (not because of the computer stuff).

KK? does the (new, blank) drive show up in the Computer Management->Storage->Disk Management section? (screenshot attached of my drives, but all mine are partitioned, formatted and visible...).

Under Win7, the "Computer Management" icon is hidden away under Start->Programs->AdministrativeTools->ComputerManagement.

(I have a little addition called "Classic Shell", which gives me a sensible (read: WinXP-like) Start button etc etc).
