    That's awesome, very nice work.

I seem to be having some issues with Centaur 7's clothing. There seems to be a fair amount of clipping with some outfits. And suits like the Empire torso piece is asking to be autofited when I have centaur selected.

some bits need to be fitted to the horse half

Nice work, but this is still too masculine for my tastes when it comes to a female version.

Here is the one I put together with GF3 a few months back. It works for my purposes, but is a pain to pose/change materials, which is why I would be interested in a female version of the new one. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

    Stunning.

I like Centaur 7... a lot. Thanks to the day 2 glitch, I was actually able to afford him.

Still pretty crappy, but you can make the Horse parts a little more slender/smaller (since it was clear that FSMCDesign's image was an older kitbash). Starting with the Arabian morph (which is a more slender horse than most others), you can scale back everything from the Pelvis node and down on the Horse.

The seam is still wonky, and extra so for a kitbash using Genesis 2...

    (Really basic test render attached...)

nice work Blurst of Times. Yeah, I used the Mil Foal for mine since the horse was just too cumbersome for what I was wanting.

What version of Daz Studio are you using? I've had the centaur in an older 4.9 beta as well as the current 4.9 release. The transition didn't work in the older beta, but works perfectly in the current release...

My first attempt at a centaur. Diesel for Elijah 7 looks good as one. Not wild about the way the light bounces weirdly off the horsehide. Seems a little plasticky. Other than that, I really do like the bundle a lot. Fun to work with!

A couple of Centaurs from me...first was just messing about with male morphs, second was an experiment in converting an old Millennium Horse texure to Cenatur 7 (via that rtencoder method via Horse 2)

okay I have a question how the heck do you save a material for the centuar body ??I've been making some toony skins for the horse half but can't figure out how to save them so that they will apply to both the body and the geoshell ........with out having to hand load the textures ....It's possible cause the skins that come with the centuar load on the geoshell as well as the body .......I know I'm missing something but can't figure it out .......kinda like I'd really like a morph to lenghten the legs .....can't figure that out either ......ugh!!help please

Have G3M selected and save as a Heirarchical Material instead of a material. Check the pieces you want to include in the file.

    Great pics! Keep them coming!

    Sassy Centaur

It turns out that Damen makes a wonderful and very sassy centaur! The Leather Warrior kilt took some fiddling in DAZ and Photoshop to look decent. My postwork skills are still developing. I learned quite a bit on this one. Not perfect, but certainly fun.

Damen: Yes, I'm anatomically correct. (rolls eyes) No, I don't wear pants. Ever.

    "Scottish Centaur"

Another way to handle the seam: uses the hat and scarf from Autumn Chic Outfit for Genesis 3 Female

Love the Sassy Centaur, Llynara- perfect expression and comment from Damen, too.  I agree with the skin on the centaur portion looking plastic-like, but I do like Diesel as a centaur as well. Well done!

Glad you like it! Damen is fun to work with. So is Diesel.

Rich, I love the render with Autumn Chic, Would've never thought to use that. Looks great! Scottish centaurs rock!

I find it a little funny that people spent all that money on centaur only to diligently work to hide the seam like they'd do with the old tricks to merge figures.

I haven't I'm one of the few I guess that's ok with it yes I know of others that are too. To me it's a lot like what we see in style and look of centaurs are in many movies and tv shows  whereas Raws does look more real if one existed and is the style of fantasy pinup artists like Boris Vallajo I think they are both good

I agree, I like both of them.  Yes, I do prefer Raws, and his is what pushed me over the edge into getting the figure, but I love both of them.

I don't care for the seam, or the horse 2 rear quarters. In fact, if I didn't want to keep the male characters or hair, I'd return it. Horse 2 is just dated looking to me and shiny and plastic looking.

I wish they'd at least done some newer textures with some better detail on the hide. The seam area could've been so much better with some options. For those who like the High-waisted torso, they can use that option. For those that want a low-waisted torso there should be some variety. It is kind of limiting to me. Like only having high-waisted jeans for Vicky to wear. Okay if you like that style, but an eye-sore if you don't.

I don't think the ones using clothes on their centaurs are doing it just to hide the seam ,but cause it's fun to put clothes on the figure,I don't mind where the join is cause it can be easily fixed either by working on the texture map or postwork,I personally appriecate that my figure does fly apart when I change poses ......that to me is a major plus

Serene Night I don't know if you use Iray or not but in 3DLight if you have the old MilHorse there was an excellent Bump map with it that could be easily used on the centuar's body to get rid of the smooth shiney look

Are you still using version 4.8? I'm not seeing this issue in 4.9...

In 4.8, whether I load the Actor "Male Centaur," first or load a G3M figure/character and then load the wearable "Male Centaur Additive," I see the "human" sections from both the Male Centaur Body and the Centaur Shell at 50% opacity. Selecting both in the scene tab and then opening the surfaces->editor, I can remove those by setting the Opacity to zero for all surfaces except those that correspond to the "coat" and "hoof."

    I hope this info helps.

How to scale the horse part to look bigger in proportion to the human part:

-Select "Male Centaur Body." It's a component of "Genesis 3 Male Centaur." Scale it up until it's proportionate with your concept of what a centaur should look like. The horse body will move upward and the join between man and beast will freak out, and so will the plume of the tail. Please remain calm, and y-translate the horse body until the join looks ok again. Select "Male Centaur Tail" (a component of Male Centaur Body), and y-translate and z-translate until the plume of the tail sits properly on the tailbone again.

-All done. You are now free to gripe about how much work that is, or how Daz should have taken that into account. You are NOT free to claim that it can't be done, or only by very advanced users :P

ETA: Deleted centaur pic because it didn't turn out well.
