I just had to get a new computer the old one was dying the death .....and the new one came with Windows 10 and I'm still trying to figure out alot of stuff

I think I missed something when I transfered my stuff to the new computer but even stuff I've installed since getting it aren't showing up in the compatiblity window ........so now it's looking more like something I've done or not done right

and no nothing is coming up under compatability for the male hides

I suspect you're not keen on Daz Connect, if you're doing manual installs. However, you could try using Content Database Maintenance to "Re-import Metadata." (It's the item directly below Content DB Editor. See the first image from the mini-tutorial on the previous page.) When I run it, I just accept the defaults, which re-import everything, but won't overwrite any changes you've made. I think it's worth trying.

yu are right I'm so use to manually installing  and not the least bit interested in DAZ Connect but I am willing to try Re-import Metadata ..........

My kids just recently got me to let go of my Lp's and 45's ...... slow and stubborn ...

OMG!!!!! You did it !! you are a miracle worker to me!!! I got the meta data imported and was hoping that would fix the issue ...........but while I can now find/ add add compatibility yeah no it hasn't changed the female not taking the male hides ....

 

Crud I jumped the gun all the stuff is showing up in the ContentDB Editor fine and it shows that the skins are(suppose to be compatible with both the male and female centuars) but the ones for the male are still throwing up the error message ... oh well I needed to make some changes any way .. Now I think I'll just go stab some wool.

So I'm wondering, DAZ, if the "Centaur 7 Female Hides and Breeds" animal hide will also work on the male Centaur 7 and vice-versa? They are both "Centaur 7" and the 16 total hides, between the base figures and both "Hides and Breeds" products, include all the hides for the DAZ Horse 2...

I know this one, and the answer is yes. The male hides and female hides are interchangeable. One preset will apply to either one. On a related note, if you already have my IDG Iray Essentials for the Daz Horse 2 and Centaur 7, the male hides in that set will apply to the female centaur already, and the free update to add the female hides for both centaurs is working its way through the system right now.

 

@ DestinysGarden   you say there was suppose to be an update to add the female hides for both centuars .....I am confused and I am still wondering if this is only happening to me but while all the textures will work on the male ,the males textures won't load on the female ....I don't have your IDG Essentials for the DAZ Horse2 and Centuar 7,when I made a bug report the response I recieved was "nowhere on the product page does it state the materials are interchangable" which I admit pissed me off .but I've deleted ,reinstalled cleared the chache .gone through and manually uninstalled every bit of the Centuar 7 male and female ........and still the female will not take any other skins but hers ,and now the male will not take any skins made for the female ....... and I have a very bad headache from all of this .But to the point finally I don't use Iray but do you think if I get you IDG it would make them work?

Ivan 7 HD as the centaur with Victoria 8 as the mermaid, had to post edit a certain part of the horse body so wouldn't get into trouble
