We know that! wink They come naked in the first place. If you were fixated on nakedness, you wouldn't clothe them at all. laugh Oh, think how much frustration that would save! We would save a fortune on Daz clothes not purchased... We wouldn't need Fit Control at all.... But we could never post an image in the forum or gallery...

I think what Hookflash is talking about is the unfortunate glitch that happens when a morph pushes the mesh beyond the bone it's assigned to, such as, for instance, lowering the pants of a figure and then posing that figure leaning forwards. The waist of the pants, which could be at the thigh bones, will still react to the movement of the waist, making a very weird curve that renders it unusable. Same thing happens when moving a strap to the arm and then posing said arm. I normally get around this by using dforce after using the morphs on the zero pose and then animating the transition (said he, as if he was productive enough to "normally" do anything) but having the rigging automatically fixed would indeed be a very nice feature, like Aeon Soul has done in some outfits with different versions (not that the outfit automatically adjusts to the fitting morphs, just that there are are two pants to load, one normally worn and one halfway down GF8's leg, for example).

Ah ok. Ye best solution is to adjust clothes when figure is roughly in it's final pose. No way around that regarding the bones.

Indeed it would be a tragedy, being unable to share our creations because nowhere on the internet is there an audience for naked skin. Thankfully, we have our truckloads of skimpwear to preserve the graceful modesty of the digital form.

  • ATA for the update? every time I foget to delete the eyelashes... CRASH!

  • I mentioned a potential useful function in the Dial Control thread, in that not only would it show the paths for morphs on a character, but also the paths for clothing items?

Having thought about it,  I added that it could be potentially more of a function of Fit Control.

You mentioned that because clothing typically had fewer morphs, it would be of limited use.

What I am thinking of though, is that I often, & I suspect others do too, save kitbash outfits as a wearable preset.

If the paths for clothing locations could be shown, perhaps via a seperate related script, it would ease finding installation of individual items to facilitate morph adjustments & texture changes.

How is the update to address the Fit Control for Genesis 8 Female using the current beta coming along?

The update will be finalized as soon as we get XTransfer G8 to G3 out. We are running behind at the moment unfortunately........We thought a reversed XTransfer was going to be a quick process but we hit quite a few issues because of the slight differences in the UV's. So once XT module 2 is complete Fit Control all versions will get the update. We haven't forgot about it..It it is highlighted in red on our to do list, but XT is way behind release schedule and that urgently needs to go out....

Has this crash situation been fixed yet?  Not interested in the workarounds

    DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\QtScript4.dll" at 0033:00000000A3CCE1BC, QScriptEngine::signalHandlerException()+18380 byte(s)

I haven't used Fit Control on Genesis 8 Female in a very long time (last August) because of consistent crashes. I was just checking to see if anything new had come along.

This is my first time using it for G8. Crashes every time. Just checking to see if it was something I was doing

do you still need crash logs, zev0?

i really miss being able to use fit control.  but it's been crashing immediately after applying the morphs for months.

I need logs yes. I need to see when it crashes and at what stage.

Thanks @Zev0.  It crashes as soon as you select the item to apply the fit control to and accept

Crashes Daz every single time once it says morphs have been added and I click "ok", crash, Daz fatal error message pops up and nothing is added to the log file, it just dies. From what I can tell, users on other forums are reporting the same thing regardless of Daz version so is there anyway it could be a problem with the program clashing with a recent windows or a recent Nvidia driver update as everyone seems to have been getting it within the last few months? Maybe @Zev0 isn't able to reproduce the error if you're working on an older version of windows, older driver or something along those lines?

  • attached is a log file from when it crashed. i sometimes get it to save while pressing the save button as it's working, but otherwise, nope. I really miss being able to use it.

  • I have the same issues with the G8F version. All the other model versions (G3F, G3M, & G8M) I own work fine. I have the same crash report problem some are reporting because it CTDs so fast that DS doesn't even attempt to add info to the log.

If you don't have a backup of the install files you can try opening a support ticket to ask if Daz support team can provide you with a copy.

Hmm, I'm on 4.12.1 und would not like to go back as some other products rely on the latest.

@Zev0: Any chance a fix for Fit Control on 4.12 is coming?

  • Zev0Zev0 Posts: 7,091

Partner has been swamped with day job responsibilities since this corona thing. We are aware of the pending update that needs to go out. It will be released when time has been dedicated into finalizing it. Even XT G8 version has come to a halt for now.
