Blech. Got into the 40s last night. Brrr! :bug: only hitting mid-60 today, then back into the 80s tomorrow. Texas weather is weird! :gulp:

Gotta cut back on the spicy food, it's causing me "issues". :ahhh: :bug: I think a weeks break from hot pepper laced goodies will be beneficial. :-S

Tons of stuff on sale at Rendo.. must.. not.. buy! :ahhh:

    Yes, it can.

My mum found some high school photos of me and I was thin then. Now I am chubby. I thought it has to do with the anti-depression medicine.

Yes, but note that it is "it can". It is not "it will".

Weight gain is not straightforward science of "amount of input vs amount of energy used" -- there's so much more nuance to it; there's a wide range of things that affects it, from gut bacteria to amount of stress to amount of sleep you get to what exactly you're eating to water retaining to...

You should consult your doctor and qualified nutriologist about what's up.

But equally exercise, coupled with a good diet. can help immensely, especially the exercise. Walking instead of jumping in the car to go everywhere is a good start. by a good diet I don't mean a diet as pushed by all the slimming companies, but a good nutritious diet which uses the good foods and only allows the bad foods (like simple carbohydrates and fatty foods) in small amounts only.

exercise is actually really good therapy for depression, helps you build self esteem, gets you out and about helps you get to sleep which in turn helps individuals take on more positive outlook on life. The trick is, making exercise part of your daylie routine, and too keep at it. :)

A close friend of mine has developed and suffered from depression for quite a lot of this year and last year. She and I would talk about it with each other allot, since I am in that same boat myself. She finally got herself back into exercise and immensely improved her diet, since then she has continued to stick to it, and she is positively GLOWING. The change she went through is incredible, loving life now she is! Healthy, happy, sleeping well, eating well the list goes on. I'm so proud of her! :)

So Yeah, I certainly agree with Cho and Ski :D

    @ Kulay
This is all good advice from your friends. Please give some thought about self-image as well. Who you were in High School has no real importance; what really matters is who you are now. No one can be who they used to be, nor should they want to. Look to the future with the attitude of doing your best each day. Live in the now. The past is gone. :)
    You'll do fine. :)

    Oh yeah, here's the thing...

You can't go back to high school proportions sans extreme surgery. Pretty much no one can. Because usually when we hit that age phase, we go through growth like crazy and burn calories at astonishing speeds and parts of our bodies seem to occasionally grow out of sync too.

Don't yearn back to that era, work with what you got now, as a mature adult. This means you should focus on staying healthy, and get some tone to body, and not fret about HS figure. Celebrate being an adult in an adult body.

I echo this. It's important to be a healthy weight, but healthy weight for a HS girl is not the same as for an adult. ;)

I'm still plush-sized myself, regular exercise doesn't really change that, but high school? Yech. My high school had a higher percentage of anorexics than the national average. Even when I was thin I was the fat kid there.

I saw this error message when I tried to browse the Daz 3D store:

There has been an error processing your request

Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons.

    Error log record number: 445839251120

Nothing else is new. It is still windy outside.

Urgh, DAZ got some of my money today - been looking for 1920s style stuff and they have some excellent bits here, so I bit the bullet and bought. Got a nice dress, some extra textures, and a super cute short cut hair. :-S

I'll try to sit down this weekend and actually produce a 1920s art deco type drop. :red:

Ate too much pizza for lunch.. uurrppp! The Pizza Hut thin and crispy crust is addictive, with light sauce and cheese it's not even all that damaging to eat! :P

Now to decide: go out tonight after work, or get a new cheapie cell phone? Argh... :blank:

...up until my late 40s I had pretty much the same "svelte' (read extremely slender) physique as well as the metabolism of a high schooler. Had a lot of people envious that I could put away a lot of food and seemingly not gain an ounce. By the time I hot 50, all the years began to finally catch up to me with a vengeance. I've had to give up a lot of things I liked (Wooly, I hear you on the super spicy stuff).

Like Skiriki says, you have to deal with it, go on, and take care of yourself.

You cannot turn back the clock no matter what you see on the telly, or read in the scandal rags. All of those "get slim get trim quick" wonder pills and treatments they advertise are nothing but "snake oil". You have to stay on them to maintain that look, at a cost to both your bank account and your long term health. Your best bet is to speak with your doctor and set up a plan of activity and diet that suits you. It will take time and patience, but in the end, you will feel better physically and that will go a long way in helping you fell better about yourself.

Yeah - time happens, everything ages, and there's no going back.

I was in pretty decent shape until about 42-43, then things started to flake out on me - muscle tone was harder to maintain, my eyes weren't as sharp, started having a bit harder time rousing myself from bed in the morning.. and discovering that yes, I could get fat! :ahhh:

It's hard to face, but eventually you have to start dealing with aging. It blows goats, but with some extra effort you can look and feel reasonable without resorting to pills.
