    I feel your pain. (frownie)

Poser Pro 2012 is useless on my laptop because the 15.6 inch screen is too small for the UI.. DS 4.6 is at least usable.

I need an external monitor/keyboard, those are slated for purchase in July. Le sigh.

I should post a screenshot of Daz Studio 4.x on my 1024x768 desktop.

I'm sure I read something similar in the Prose Edda, or the Kalevala... (bug eyed face)

Complaint: I can't see all of the animation timeline/editor window on my laptop. There isn't enough room on my screen. I have to hide a few toolbars everytime I want to scroll down to see the rest of the objects =/

Sorta hard to explain, but when there's so much stuff crammed into a small window... XD

Yeah... I wish I had my desktop with me.... Everything fit on that XD
I think my desktop might be jealous because I almost exclusively use my laptop. Not because it's faster or anything (It isn't) but because... I guess because it's more comfortable :3 I dunno. Ah yes, one major shortcoming with my desktop is that it CRASHES a lot. nothing worse than an overnight render locking up and having to start the whole damn thing over again. XD

My laptop has never crashed - not once - and I've done all sorts of stuff to it (Even dropped it once ><)</p>

That being said, I can hide windows and stuff in Cinema 4D to give room for the Poser panel and the Timeline panel (which is sharing the same window as the IPP Runtime/Options window, but in a different tab) To be able to see all of it though, I have to hide the animation bar (With the play/stop/pause/add-keyframe buttons) and the "Tools" bar at the top.

My next laptop will have a 17in screen, which should help immensely. Until then, I'm hoping I can make do with a 19in. external monitor as that's all the room I have on my compy desk! (ahhh face)

...well, just went to their site and got on the support chat to get a better description of the service.

Seems I can just get internet without all the other stuff and at a very good introductory price (29$ for the first 6 months which goes to the regular rate of 44$ after that), Have to add 7$/month for the modem but that still is less than what I am paying now (for the first 6 months and just 1$ more after that) for a 20mbps connection with 300GB month (DL/UL). Yeah I know speed will vary from what is advertised, but to have a stable connection so I can actually stream vids (great when I need to pull up a tutorial on something) and with a router (not very expensive) I can hook to both systems so I can DL app, plugin, & utility updates direct to the workstation.

Going to head over to the office tomorrow (short walk away) to check into this more. The good thing is my place already has a lead and junction box from when it previously had cable service so installation should be fairly quick and inexpensive.

I'm really happy for you that you've made this decision! It was painful for me to keep reading about all your troubles with the wifi connection. :)

...news to me too as the last I knew, to get the best monthly rate for internet, one had to do the whole telly/phone bundle thing. DanaTA's response prompted me to check into it again.

Still not completely sure about how much I will really pay as the fellow I chatted with mentioned something about the best rates being available with a bundle package so when I go there tomorrow (well later today) I'll inquire more (and there is still also the installation charge and equipment deposit to deal with). The one other concern is whether or not it involves a contract period rather than being month to month. If so, then it's all moot as that is what usually kept me away from considering the larger established telecom services.

Well, I do have the TV and phone, too. But I was paying the same price for my sister's Internet, and she only had the very basic TV service, not many channels at all. I think it's called Lifeline service.

I don't think Comcast does contract periods, but I'm not sure. But that's not always a bad thing. I've been with Comcast for a lot of years. Their customer service has only gotten better. Years ago, when I complained about dropouts of Internet service, or times when it got painfully slow, they'd tell me it's my fault, and I had to go through this bull of shutting down my computer, unplugging the router, then the cable modem, then turning it all back on in the reverse order. Then if it didn't work, maybe they'd send someone out. But in the past few years they've gotten much better. A few years back, I called about slowness. The rep stayed on the phone with me and sent a ping to my modem. She said she noticed it was slowing down a lot as it approached my modem. She sent someone out the next day, the guy checked some things, then went to his truck, dropped a new cable from the pole to my house, and gave me new equipment. It's bee great ever since. And more recently I called about my rates and got a reduction, more channels and was put on the highest speed tier of Internet service. So I'm pretty happy with them. I met someone who had gotten Verizon FIOS and he said it was not ready for prime time, there were all kinds of problems with it. And a friend of mine has it and I saw his HD TV and it didn't look all that great compared to my other friend's HD with Comcast, and they were about the same size set and both were the same brand. So I'm sticking with Comcast for the foreseeable future.

is the magnito compatible with IE8?

i saw KK's avi with Safari last night. but can't see some avies on dayjob compy with IE8. plus it's too wide. i have to shuffle the horizon bar back and forth to read.

    screenshot

okay, changed the view to 100%, but now is so small reading makes me dizzy.
firefox browser would word wrap so i didn't have to do the shuffle thing. woes IE8.

So why aren't you using Firefox then? I never had that problem with IE8, but I did find it was slower than Firefox, and behaved oddly. For instance, I use MS development tools to build my website...and yet the site works better in Firefox than in IE8. (confused emote)

well, no woes for squirrl pic-a-nic :)

Squirrel is so cute, and so is that picnic table. I might have bought one of those when I had money a few years back. But I tried putting loose corn in with the peanuts in the munch box and the squirrels around here didn't seem to like them. They ate the peanuts but left the corn. Then I had a mess I had to clean up, so I never did the corn thing again. Odd. Now I can't afford the peanuts, so the box sits empty and I don't get the visitors anymore. Even my bird feeders are empty. :(

PPro 2014 has to wait until I get a better laptop, I'm afraid. (sad face)

I suspect I can do it in DS 4,6 with D-formers...

Where is it? I don't think I have that model anyway, but maybe in the future.

My computer is still in the shop, I haven't heard from them yet. I'll be calling in another hour or so.

Complaint: *Sigh* NDAs. No one quite seems to get that the resounding PA silence to a question doesn't mean we don't like you, it means we're under contract 'til the product in question is out!

Non-complaint: I'm playing with my new water shader today as I work on a product. It's fun and shiny.

Skiriki, I think with the right shader you can make Genesis look like water. For a second I thought you were looking for a wet-skin look.

Dark clouds are finally moving in. The neighbors down the street are working in their yard. They should start putting away their tools soon.

...well let's not celebrate yet. Until I get the actual details from their office (will be going there tomorrow instead as the weather today is majorly icky rainy) it is not a sure thing. As I mentioned if I have sign up to a long term contract, then all bets are off. At least the service I have now will not penalise me If I have to miss a month or so and then restart later because finances are slim (I just will not be able to connect until I go in and pay up for another month).
