I don't know. Have you asked the PA? I don't know who "rigger" is, but there's a website with tech support contact info. The original link has gone bad, tho, but here's a new one: http://www.gmccsoft.com/

Really, really would love this for Poser/Daz. The detail is so perfect even including the famous "Beavertail" parlour car.

Only rode the successor of these trains in the diesel streamliner era that followed, but they were still unique. Long and sleek in their yellow and silver livery, with a full length dome car and end parlour car on which the entire back end was all windows.

It was a beautiful ride through the farmlands of southern Wisconsin, the Wisconsin River Dells (a popular destination during the summer), then northwest to Lacrosse and along the the Mississippi (with spectacular towering bluffs on both sides) on up to St. Paul/Minneapolis.

...and they were still fast, all the way up to the "end". I'd often go out to Oconomowoc (a small town west of Milwaukee) to watch the afternoon Hiawatha hit it's stride, flying by in a blur of yellow and silver at 100 - 110 mph.

Until the Amtrak took over all rail passenger service in 1971, there were still both the morning and afternoon Hiawathas and they still were quite popular., particularly during the summer.

There are a huge number of really cool car models... for 3DS. (angry emote) I'd buy 'em if they worked in Daz/Poser...

Sad about the state of train travel in the US.. I'd take trains before planes if the routes permitted. (frownie)

OK...this is the complaint thread and I want to complain!! UGH!

OK...so, to sum up: Approx 6 months ago some stuff happened that really hurt me and stressed me out and I took a break for awhile. Well, I got to missing everything and everyone so i decided I would go through some of my downloaded and yet uninstalled stuff and install it in my libraries. OK... this was kind of a disaster. Not only was stuff not working properly, but I was getting error messages and warnings during renders and stuff, plus I saw that DS had a new version (yet again) so I just said ... OK.. I give in, I'll do a complete fresh install of everything. Good time to check out how the DIM thing came along, right?

OK... First day.... just get started and the DIM goes down... for like 2 days.... sometimes I could log in...sometimes I could not. OK, I discover this is something that others are experiencing too, and realise that is just my bad luck and poor timing... I decided to not hate this process just yet... things got up and running and stayed going really well, until I noticed that I didn't have all of M4 stuff showing up in the DIM. Hmmm??? So I do a little investigating and discover that I got most of M4 (including morphs ++ and Hiro) from my purchase of the Daz book. That content came on disc. OK, so I send in a ticket and try to explain that this stuff from my book purchase wasn't showing up in my account. I bought the book from here, so i included the order # and the content I was missing..

I get a response today telling me they can't find that order....

    ???huh???

How is that possible? It's showing up in MY account on my end!!?!?!? WTF?!?!?!! I bought the thing from here. I included all the information I have... I'm sure it was just a typo on their part in the search or something....but how aggravating!! I included the order number information already...

... oh yeah.... the headaches.... now I remember....

Thanks - I might pop this person an email tonight. Maybe they just gave up on DS, in which case I'd better brush up on my Qt!

I've dealt with content management systems and content wrangling software in my gamedev days, and DS is in sore need of something more universal than their built-in CMS. (grumble face)

Not really. It is mostly the phase "I actually have energy to harm myself, and the medication hasn't yet affected the cloud of perpetual gloom". Since teens tend to be more impulsive than adults (and occasionally medication may have greater effect on them), they are in special need of observation, hence most warnings targeting teens. It is not medication itself that does it, but depression being lifted just enough.

...Advertising had more of a social impact then than it does now...

That's one theory. I look at the lines outside of places like Apple stores, Ikea, other places when the newest, "greatest" version of something that you just have to have is released and wonder about that.

If advertising didn't have much impact anymore, fashion would not change so drastically. Cars would be kept longer. People wouldn't jump up and say, "Yes, I need that!" when the latest, greatest, "ground breaking" technology came along in 3D.

    'Nuff said.

...I gave up on the whole DIM thing when it kept corrupting my username each time I tried to log in with it. I'd add a new account (as advised) to fix the issue and the next time I tried to log in I'd have to do the same all over again for it corrupted my username again by substituting the letter "a" for the "@" character in the email addy.

Then Taozen released a new version of his wonderful History Manager. Never bothered with the DIM anymore.

Probably because DAZ3D is always releasing updates that break it, and he's tired of keeping up. Or maybe they did something that permanently cripples it? Or maybe because of the direct competition of the wonderful MetaData system...even though it's only for DAZ3D products, really...and recent ones at that.

I've avoided the DIM, too. There were a few things that I didn't like that I read in forums here. And the service going down...I foretold that issue. It's not mysticism to see that coming. On the other hand, the Product Library in your account seems to be pretty good. You can do a good search and download just what you need right away. And setting it to be in date order, oldest first, you can see all those really old things that you might still want but can't find on your system...or plain forgot that you ever had.

His site doesn't appear to have been updated sine 2006, too.. not a good sign.

I suspect you are correct in BOTH your surmises. With the HUGE delay in getting the DS 4.s SDK out, and what a bother it is to have to wait forever for a new SDK each time there's a major upgrade, I'd be sick of the whole affair myself. (grumble face)

If DS 4.6 exposes a drag-and-drop target interface, I could write a standalone app or a Windows Explorer extension that would be a Finfer-like thing.. I'll have to test my theories tonight.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to see about getting the SDK... and I',m not sure how simple that is any more.. (blank face)

So far I haven't done any desktop, WinForms, development with Visual Studio 2010. I've only been working on my website. Slowly. Excruciatingly slowly. Although I have made good progress over the past year or so. I can't get back to it until I get my computer back, though. (cry emotie)

Yeah, I don't know if I like the DIM thing or not....but I definitely don't like that they can't find my order!! I think I know what happened, though. Although it's just a guess. See, when I included the order number information, I just copied and pasted. That put the order number in this format:

    #0000000

OK...when you make a ticket for any reason and you type a number in that way (with the numbers beginning immediately after the # symbol) the ticket system automatically highlights and creates a link to another "ticket" order... not a purchase order...

so...if whoever it was that took my ticket tries to click on the link (that the ticket system automatically created) it links to nothing.... they come to a blank page.

BUT... the person taking the information should have a BRAIN and understand that I have no way possible to link to my product order account from within the ticket complaint system (they should certainly understand that I am not referring to another ticket number) and should have looked me up and looked up my order with the ORDER number I gave.

    ...geesh!...

Sorry to puke all my frustration out on you guys! lol

    ...hanging in there.

Not sure if you had heard, but I'm out of work for the time being (company I worked for lost it's major client after over 30 years of business - long story). Looking daily, but not finding much for someone of my age and skill set. Finally got some feedback on a few applications but it's the usual line, "not quite what we are looking for, but will consider for future openings."

Other than that, taking advantage of the extra time to really sit down and learn all this 3D stuff (and enjoy some uncharacteristically nice weather for this time of year where I live).

Got the new workstation running and been busy working with ideas for scenes/characters I had to shelve because the old system just didn't have the horsepower to render them. Been playing with shaders and the new SSS feature in 4.6 (my, there are so many parameters). Got Blender 2.67 and Bryce 7, going, still need to install Carrara, PoserPro 2012 and the latest update to Marvelous Designer.

Took second place in the May Toon challenge over at the Fantasy Attic which netted me a couple nice GCs at Rendo and Xurge ("real armour" for "real warriors" , both fantasy & SF) as well as some individual content awards.

Currently weighing the decision of whether or not to cash in on the big Filter Forge sale (119$ for 3 Pro), being that my income is about two thirds of what it was (which even then wasn't much). However, as I am getting more and more into surfacing and texturing, it would be an excellent tool as it also works as a standalone.

Well, the 4.5+ SDK is freely available.. so if DS4.6 doesn't expose a drag-and-drop target interface, I can do things The Hard Way.

If I do this, I'm going to give it away for free. I'll also make the source code freely available as I don't intend to be spending hours on tech support for what's basically a personal tool! (chortle)

I should write an eBook: "How To Create Your Own Webcomics with Daz Studio 4.6". Sell it for $1.99, I could probably make chicken wing money that way... (smirk emote)
