I've tried opening a number of things with Notepad++. Either I get readable text, or a bunch of gibberish. If it's gibberish I close it quickly - Usually means it's something you're not supposed to touch ;P

Apparently you can modify CivIV savefiles with Notepadd. Change the difficulty of a save, even the leader and civilization you're playing as. Fun ^^

On another subject, I'm getting an art from a friend of mine (Commissioned, but the end result is the same :B ) of two of our dinos racing and having fun. Is looking cute so far :3
Mine is on the right, hers is on the left.

    Awesomely teh cute :o_

Apologies, but the way I see it, this is becoming more complicated then it needs to be.

Doc Type Definitions are like standards, the wonderful thing about them is there are so many :o)

I'll have to go to the local hot-spot to download later (just 6:25 am here now).
They don't look that different in the promos though. Mostly different in the base mesh for joint bends, etc.

confirmation of that, from the latest email http://www.daz3d.com/newsletter/2013/special/06-20v6/06-20v6.html?

In order to produce more realistic facial movements and expressions Genesis 2 includes a dynamic and movable jaw as well as significantly increased facial polygons and a new eye reflection mesh.

    i tried.

i dreamed my buppy and a kitteh i never met were trapped in a pet store and the people there forgot to feed them and their cages weren't cleaned. it was pretty awful. my anxiety is high, my buppy can't make it up the stoop's 2 steps anymore. this morning he didn't even try, he just stood there waiting for me to boost him up. my new job, doggie booster helper.

i don't understand where the kitteh in my dream came from. it was gray and black stripes. ohh, maybe, cuz i saw trekkiegrrl's banner before i signed off last night, there's kittehs. maybe there was a gray tabby in it the banner.

just as well i guess. a gal could hurt herself on my virtual bf's bump map. :D

    Genesis 2. Victoria 6.

Bah! Humbug! I'm just getting into Genesis 1 and now they're making it obsolete?!?!?!?!

FIE ON DAZ! FIE! (angry face)

I won't be "upgrading" this round. Grr...

Vinyl -> CD -> MP3, buy the same music over and over again.

Gen4 -> Gen5 -> Gen6, buy the same assets over and over again.

    Fehhhhhhhhh!

    Rant over.

You don't have to. Besides, if you run DIM now, you will get the BASE Genesis 2 morph FOR FREE. And it can co-exist with your current Genesis 1.

Bah, humbug on Genesis 2! Definitely not going to bother until (or if) I hit the wall with what I have.

I'm just in a Mood(tm) today. Bah, humbug!

Genesis 2 Starter Essentials should be in your product library or in DIM as a free download. Doesn't hurt to download it. So far a lot of my Genesis content is autofitting very well so it's usable - well clothing and hair tried one of Wilmap's free shoes and Daz asploded on me will have to try something different in the footwear department later.

The base model gives you a much more pleasing shape to start with and the changes to the lower jaw and the ability to manage eyes seperately make it a much easier to get more realistic expressions. I could see using it for closeups and still using G1 for the vast majority of your work.

I'll probably bite on the V6 Pro bundle because I can and well...new shiney. Still, I don't see anything so far that says it's a must buy for most people. More of an evolution than a revolution.

Why? Genesis 2 isn't in the listings yet! I think it's a bit too much too soon. But that's just me...oh, wait, it's not. I've already heard rumblings.

Let me see...Genesis was all things to all men, and that was supposed to be a big selling point. Now Genesis 2 will have a male and a female base, separate. Huh? Genesis was much lower poly than the Gen 4 figures...this was supposed to be in order for it to work the way it does. But Genesis 2 has "2000 more polygons than even the Genesis base had". I bolded "even", suggesting that Genesis was high polygon? Huh? When Genesis first came out and I saw the promos, I thought that the males looked a bit effeminate. I was told that's nonsense. But now, Genesis 2 has separate male and female bases, which "allow for more masculine and feminine figures". Hmmm.

Wolly's right, a lot of people are just getting into Genesis, and now they're ditching it.

I found the Genesis 2 base female figure in my product list, took some searching but it was there. Downloaded 4 files, not sure I'm going to bother installing them, but I have them.

I suppose in the fullness of time we'll see Genesis 2 base male figure show up. Meh, though. Bah, humbug!

I'm still screaming into a pillow about the lack of options on the basic figure. Genesis was feature rich out of the box and Genesis 2 is, well, Victoria 4.4

    *muffled screams of moderate frustration*

I feel your pain. Over the past 3 weeks I've invested in a pile of morph packages for Genesis 1 to get my Gen3 and Gen4 characters and clothing on to Genesis 1.. not to mention all the monster creation morphs.. will I have to re-buy all that if I move to Genesis 2? If so, forget it! FIE ON DAZ, BAH HUMBUG!

I don't recall G1 having a great many morphs, without the Evolution morph sets, though I've not yet had a chance to see what G2F has.
