Concerns about the PA Sale Setup

Does this exclude new items? i.e. items less than 60 days old that haven't been released as part of the festival? It doesn't mention in the promo material.
ETA: I did not create this thread I don't consider this to be a concern. It was a question.

Up to 50%? It used to be 50%, period.
That's OK, I'm pretty broke anyway and can't afford even 50% on most items...especially when it comes to Stonemason! :bug:

Yes, 2011 ... those were the days ... ... ...

Yea, I was waiting for the 50% off some of my wishlist items most of the year now. Now it seems I'm gonna have to wait till the end of the month, and hope they all go on sale at the same time for a weekend or something, like they sometimes do,
Wow I was really looking forward to this sale, but if it is going to take on this setup I guess I'm left out. The chances that 3 things I want all being available on the same day are pretty slim, unless they do have a big sale at the end of the month. Guess we'll find out - I'll probably save alot of money this way, but not so excited anymore. -Cathy
I really dislike this "buy 2 things you probably don't want/need to get the highest discount on the one thing you do want" sale. It would be okay - maybe - if there were three things in a day I wanted and needed. But it sounds like this sale is designed for people who have a thousand or more dollars to blow in a month. Definitely not me.
Well I guess I will save money this year, was looking forward to the 50% off but this whole buy 3 items to get 50% off is just too much for me this year. But I understand the PA's have to make money too and it's been a tough year all around.
Maybe I'll get lucky there will be a makeup weekend at the end of the month. :-)
i'm feeling a bit betrayed.
Thread split from the PA sale commercial thread.
Saw that coming. :)
Next the White Knights of the DAZ Table will come galloping in from all sorts of random directions while blowing rainbows up our noses, telling us how absolutely wonderful and charming it is to buy three things to get the 50% we used to just get.
I need to buy three to get the 50% off that I could get with just the items I actually wanted last year? Forget that. You can expect a lot less money from me this year.
is a ketchup sale solution even going to work?
is it 3 items total or 3 items from a single artist's store?
can i add 2 pc items to Village courtyard for the 50%?
n/m, would exceed my visagiftcard. so, instead of spending 20 bucks today, i'm spending nothing.
can the 3 items be from different pa stores?
can you really compare this year to the 'historically' pa sales? it's like, totally, not the same thing.
this was posted to help explain the structure of the sale:
So there is the new "featured item" and at least, in this case, two or more other stores to pick from to get the 3 products needed into your cart to trigger the full 50% off.
Yes, you can mix and match items from the featured PAs of the day and the discounts will still apply.
Yes, new releases for a featured PA are included. This was stated in the announcement thread.

But you don't have to purchase the featured item(s) for the discounts to apply. The featured items are new releases by the Premier Artists, but aren't required to trigger any discounts. It is 30% off 1, 40% off 2 or 50%off 3 for any item(s) in any of the featured Premier Artists' stores.
Well the good news is that I'll save a lot of money. Unfortunately, I guess I won't be getting the few items I really wanted and have been waiting all year for this sale to get.

And 2010, and 2009, and 2008, and 2007, and 2006, etc. I think this is the first year it hasn't been a staight 50% off. It's highly disappointing. And I will not be making any purchases except to use my PC monthly $6.
Discretionary money is almost non-existent this year for many people, and they chose to make it harder to get the discount. Not much of a festival.

...my one major complaint is it's early again this year (didn't this usually happen in like, November?) and it collides with the release of Carrara 8.5.
Well, that's sure nice.... I let my PC membership go back in March and stayed a member waiting patiently for the PA sale to get a few things I still wanted. After all those months of waiting, we get this? I have 6 items (at least) I planned on buying when the PA sale came up but I'm not buying them if I don't get the 50% discount now :( That's the only reason I waited for the sale as I don't have an income and need all the help I can get when I buy here.
Unless by chance those 6 items fall on days where I can grab 3 of them at once then you've lost a sale from me and most likely my future business here :( I'm so sad to see the way the site and company has gone over the last year or two and it's obvious now the site will never be as amazing with such great deals like it used to be :( I'm very very sad that I most likely have to miss out on the items I wanted. On a couple I've waited 2+ years to get these items finally only to be let down and probably never have a chance to get them now :( Thanks Daz :(

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
Well, I'll say it this way. When it was a straight 50%, I would grab things impulsively. Might grab one of the new releases, then as the day wore on, the idea of somebody's store being on sale (today only!) would gnaw at me, and then I'd come back and buy something else.
Now, there's a hurdle to overcome. Things go into my cart, waiting to see if they are joined by other things. I got to three things in the cart earlier, looked at them all in there, decided I was spending too much on the first day, and took them all out. Cart totals over a certain amount trigger enhanced scrutiny, and the impulse buys are gone. So...maybe DAZ is forcing me to be more rational with my spending?
Well everybody else has posted the observations/ concerns that I have with the " New" PA sale. If and or when the sales figures come back from this month and it's clear that they are not meeting expectations ( and there will be a lot of bummed PA artists too), will Daz announce a "SPECTACULAR" catch-up sale to try to revert to the way the PA sale used to work? Will the reversal of this foolish policy be acknowledged as a mistake and stated as a form of apology to the community or presented as a beneficent gift to all of us? The DAZAHOLIC badges have developed an incredibly ironic twist these days. I just don't get you guys anymore, honestly I don't. I have wracked my brain to find another example of a company that continually and very publicly " train wrecks " itself for close to two years now, and has taken one of the most loyal and passionate customer bases, and turned us all into whiners and complainers. It so goes against every basic tenant of sales, that for a long time I thought there was some fiendishly brilliant logic behind it. Sadly I've come to realize it is just thrashing in the water. God I miss Dan Farr.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....
Where's the Funnel Cake wagon?
...I once worked for a firm like that. After it changed hands, lasted less than three years before going under when economic times were good, due to incredibly poor decision making from the new exec in charge.
To paraphrase Maxwell Smart "We were That Close..." to having the search engine that would be the most used on the Net.
Seriously, everyone? DAZ have consistently reduced the 'value' of their sales for over two years now. March Madness and the PC sale were both big disappointments in the previous years. What made you think the PA sale would get a pass?
So I'm not disappointed, this was kind of to be expected.
I will be disappointed, though, if this sale turns out to be anything but a giant wave of content for Genesis 2 Female.

50% of the purchase price, not the discount price. so the 13,37 is the additional discount on top of the original 30% that you were seeing. to bring it up to the 50%
