  • Cris, thanks for the reply. Yes, my computer is a 64 bit Windows 10 machine and I downloaded the DAZ 4.12 64bit version.

So far I've only had horrible luck with it.

It does not change the shape of the face at all, it just ads a texture to the middle part of the face and doesn't even wrap around the sides...

  • Still no love. So why can't Studio do a deep scan of the Texture folder and find all textures attached in a .duf without me having to locate each and every texture by hand?

    I have to disagree @Wonderland

If you take a look at my image of Patrick Stewart.  I subbed his texture for Edward 8. and you can clearly see the shape Face Transfers does, is really good. I do agree it only does the front of the face. They need to work on  a side image for maximum morphage.

  • Well if they made something that worked perfectly morph creators would be out of work :)

Here is "Brad Pitt" with an expression and then with Walker skin and beard. I guess it's good for generating new morphs, if nothing else...

I have tried it out but have only managed to get one transfer that looked like the photo version. It doesn't seem to adjust head shapes very well. One of my sons has a rather square face and skull and the program tries to make it to fit the Genesis 8 male. Fun to play with though. Below is the face that it worked pretty well for.

    PS

I hope that I don't sound unappreciative for the freebie because I do like being able to try it out. Thanks Daz!

    Hello All,

Ok, I have done it, I have upgraded to version 4.12.   Soooo, where is it?  Where is the Face Transfer?  I can't find it.

Also I have seen that they added the 'conditions' to the update page in which that you can use the program unlimted but it has a watermark.  And it mentions the three free saves without the watermark.  I am assuming that you do have control over this so that you can try out some faces and if one comes out really good then you can commit it to a save?

Oh yeah, and the timeline got a serious update.  So I have something new to figure out there.

    Thanks!

    Geo

Make sure you have the latest update for Genesis 8 Essentials.

    Load the figure.

    Select the head.

    Go to Windows menus>Panes>Face Transfer.

My pane attached to where my tabs for parameters, shaping are.

Got it! What a weird place to put it!

Actually, what this is cool for, is creating new custom morphs. I'm kinda liking this supposedly "Brad Pitt" morph with Walker skin...

  • So from what I'm seeing, if you save a transfer with the watermark and then add a new texture over, it erases the watermark? Or is that post work?

The watermark is on the photo you use. If you put on a new texture, it overrides the photo texture... I never saved anything, I just put the new texture on top.

That's actually fairly sueful then. There's something about the textures generated by these that just hits the uncanny valley a bit too hard for me, so I usually overwrite with those anyway. May be worth the upgrade.

This was done using the beta so if you don’t want to upgrade, just use the beta.

Except by not upgradig to the release version, you don't benefit from any improvements.

Don’t they keep upgrading the beta? Or is there now a new beta? The 4.11 release always crashed on me so I’ve been using the beta which has been more stable...

  • Here is a couple actors. They came out ok. Karen looks the best out of these 2.  This is straight renders no post work.

It looks like the problem with the space between the nose the top lip being too big and the lips smushed in still exists in release as it was in beta.  This seems to be the largest glaring issue with the shapes generated.

Thank you very much for pointing this out. I've made a couple of tests and the space between the nose and the lips was always too much. I almost searched one hour to find the appropriate morph in DAZ until I gave up so FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, where is this morph??? How can I correct this? I don't even know how this space is called surprise

So I already have it? I didn't download the release today but am using the beta I already had...

  • Face Transfer's the most fun I've had with Studio in years. I'll likely pick up Face Transfer Unlimited. The only thing I'm not wild about is how it handles mouths, but I have plenty of mouth morphs anyway.

If it says beta, it isn't the new release, so improvments made to studio and face transfer are not there.

  • I'm sorry, silly question.

How do I use the free Face Transfer? I can't see it in Daz Studio

  • Sorry for asking again but Face Transfer obviously has a problem with the space between the lips and the nose since it is to big compared to the real picture. Can anybody tell me which morph can correct this problem? I already searched the shape tab “face”, “nose” and “lips” but I didn’t find anything.

Besides that, my wish for an update: please correct this issue. Thank you.

Michael J. Fox? My second guess would be Daniel Radcliffe but he seems too young for all those wrinkles...

    My guess was Rowan Atkinson.
