Hehehehe... Yea, I've found over the years working on all sorts of art "that" happens depending on what I'm working on. I think it's part of the excitement of the process.... I think! ;-)~

I think everyone who uses these programs experiences that no matter what way they swing. Explains why there's so many female characters. Hasn't everyone slapped some slutty garters on Victoria, cranked up the booby size to maximum and then throw her in a room with 6 horny Lycans? Oh....just me?

    A little present for Musicplayer.

    OH WOW MikeyFTL !!

Many thanks for the picture present....this looks SO real....just like a photograph. I have never seen armpit hair look this real....3D looking body hair can be very difficult to get right, and some can make a character look like it is related to a cactus ! ....but your products close-up shots look amazing and so natural.

Lots of my male renders have poses where their arms are raised, and this will add to the realism. You are very talented and have a great product here, and I am so happy to see the favourable comments others are saying. Your other demo pictures are a real tease and I am sure this product will be very popular.

    Kind regards :-)

No prob. Yes, it's very close-up friendly and in many cases, it can add additional detail to otherwise overblown textures. However, don't get too close or it will look like someone drew jagged little lines all over your model.

Hi Mikey, is there a timeline on when you expect to release this?

What happens if the hair is sub divided? I would think it would smooth out a bit more rather than look jagged on extreme close ups...

    :D

Conservatively, I would say end of March or early April.

I'm still taking suggestions and making minor changes. By the end of next week, I will be done with the modeling aspect and concentrate on submitting a package. After that, I will need to export every section of hair with their own thickness and length morphs. Then I'll need to make an attractive package that's easy to navigate.

Then there's the process of submitting to DAZ3D along with all the artwork and whatever else is required on their end. I vaguely remember submitting a pose set a few years ago but it was never accepted by DAZ3D for some reason and they never bothered to tell me why. So I have no idea how long it takes them to approve something and post it in the store.

I think it's safer to say April.

I tried that. Subdivision in DAZ3D has absolutely no effect on my existing objects. So then I did the subdividing in my modeling program and exported it. One subdivision quadrupled the filesize and brought DAZ3D to a halt. Believe me, these flat jagged polys are as good as it gets. Besides, no one wants to download a product that's pushing 1GB.

Sounds good... I'll be keeping my ears or rather my eyes peeled for news of its release in the coming weeks.
As for suggestions. I really can't think of anything else. I think everything I've seen has been pretty promising and most of my contemporaries here have probably suggested everything under the sun. So good luck Mikey! :)

Would it be worth considering some sort of 'wet look' option/addon/extra?

With this new public shower scene just released he is going to look a bit out of place completely dry.

That's a good suggestion. And all I need to do is turn off the frizz/kinkiness and add a little wave. I'll give it a try.

The only reason we have allowed this WIP thread is on the understanding that this will be offered to DAZ 3D once it is ready.

DAZ3D is the first place most people look (including myself) for content and I prefer the professional look of their store over any other content provider. Plus you can't beat the exposure.

My first attempt at wetness. Basically removed most of the kinkiness and pulled the direction downward. Then increased the spec and glossiness. Water drops are SimonWM's Wet Body Gen 5.

I'm sure it's already been asked (and can't be shown) but will there be pubic hair as well?

    Yes. It's already there.

After this package is released, I'm going to provide a bunch of happy trail, pube, inner thigh hair patterns that can be added seamlessly to REAL Hairy. I won't be able to sell them on DAZ3D because of their adult nature, so they'll most likely be freebies posted on deviantart or a personal web page.

You could probably include them in packages for sale here, just couldn't show them as a preview.

I don't know about you, but I don't usually buy content without preview images...and I think DAZ3D frowns on selling genital/pube related items. There's always the erotica sites, but they're pretty shady and have poor storefronts and equally poor support. Besides, I've gotten to the point where I can crank out small hair sections in a matter of minutes, so I have no problem offering up a few freebies.

You can always link those images to a deviant art site, with the filters enabled. As the product is not entirely gens related it shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't suggest trying to sell a 'privates only' product here, but you could throw it in as a bonus with the torso pack, or leg pack, as it makes sense.

When you mentioned subdividing, I assumed it just involved moving the SubDivision Level slider...which has no effect unless you use the "Convert to SubD" option in the edit menu. I never noticed this option until today.

Extreme closeups will now have a sick level of detail with no jagged edges. Thanks RAMWolff for the suggestion, even though I wasn't fully understanding it.

    This changes everything.
