Thanks for any feedback

Giselle sounds like the kind of name you'd give a ballet dancer.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

A google search shows a deleted placeholder for "Fallen Fae Poses for Giselle 6". Looks like we have the next female figure.

I am totally overloaded with female figures, as I am sure others are. Why can't 2 or 3 new male figures be released in a row like the females are pumped out like a production line? I hear male figures don't sell as well, but from the forums it sounds like lots of people want more of them, and they certainly can't sell better if there are none or very few to sell.
With the increased quality of the Gen2 figures males will probably do just as well as females, its kinda hard to state they won't sell if there is a very limited supple to choose from. And as I have been categorizing my collection for the past week as I look through the females both the base models and characters they are all starting to look the same, same skin, makeup, tattoos, ...how many more can you sell of the same thing? Look how much excitement was out there when finally a new male figure was in the running.....

Just my thoughts on the situation :)

So we've got another gossip on new figures. I think DAZ is saddeningly unlikely to release Gen2K (Genesis 2 Kids) or even children morphs as separate shapes for Gen2F/Gen2M (Growing Up does not fulfill half of my needs). Giselle sounds like a princessy adult. When I saw the thread, I could only come up with GEEZ... AGAIN.

It is not a good idea to release so many adult females. They cannot be varied enough. Aiko and Hiro would be different at least. Josie and Jayden are suitable for proms, but they are not kids anymore.

My guess is she's a thin waifish like eflin character. (but that's just a guess)

I do agree about needing more base male figures. Unfortunately, Michael 6 just wasn't that customizable in the head and it is tough to make basic male figures from him like you could with genesis figures, so those of use who like to render a variety of guys are kind of stuck.

I think we need more men before we get another female figure. When I log in to the Daz website now, I am immediately scanning for male oriented content and then following that, scene related props and items.

Also some more male clothing of all types. If there can be 12 different cocktail dresses based off the same basic style, why can't we have 12 slightly different pairs of jeans or other pants for the male figures? A variety of materials in suits and formal wear for males would be nice. There's lots and lots of room across all genres ( sci-fi, fantasy, post apoc, historical) for some unrestrained creativity in the male wardrobe. Maybe even just new texture sets for what we have now? When Gianni was released, I snapped up the pro bundle almost the minute it hit the store along with a few extras. That afternoon, I hit the store again and saw texture sets for the clothing items in that bundle. Those went into the cart so fast I may have given my credit card whiplash.

Admittedly, if the next character release is female I will probably purchase the base figure and any single item that is something I truly don't have in my library and could use but I seriously doubt I would be getting one of the bundles at this point. This is not a negative reflection on Daz or the various Artists, it's just that my library is glutted with female oriented content.

For Men's content it needs to be well made. Just putting together the same shirt and shorts and shoes with no pockets, morphs, and plastic textures doesn't work for me. Just because the outfit is basic doesn't mean it doesn't need to have realism, and i'm not buying just because it is 'for the guys.'

I'll buy Giselle if she is useful to the genre I render- sci-fi. I do not tend to illustrate fantasy so, fairies aren't of too much interest to me. There has to be something more. I guess we'll see next month.

I'm hoping they do something different with David and Freak. We still do not have an average guy who is morphable into other figures type character. M6, is a lot like David to me, so I hope not more of the thin head, narrow forehead type figure. We had that with M6. I need a male figure which can create a variety of looks, like the base gen 5 Michael could do.

Since G2M was released they've been alternating male/female each month (skipping March on account of the Madness).

Even though I have interest in any male figures, I really can't see what Giselle 6 will bring to the table with my workflow. I tend to not use canned character sets other than the textures and face morphs. here's hoping I am wrong and she is spectacular, LOL..

Not enough men? Gee, Gianni, Maxim, Boris, Peter (a real find), just recently. Not having seen Giselle, I can't say whether I'll be interested.

    Greetings,
I'm down with a waifish female character. I've skipped the muscle-folks, male and female. Just not my thing to render. So far my fave guy is still Dan; I don't need a David 6 with him around. (I'd take D6, but mainly for the content that'd likely go with, whereas Gianni's content didn't sell me.)

I also haven't found G2M that hard to morph, though.

Here's hoping the waifish G2F idea is right.

DAZ seems to be a bit more open to experimentation this generation. I could see her being the opposite of what people seem to expect - maybe a truly 'chubby' character. Or maybe something completely crazy, like an afro-american character.

I would be down with both.

I keep thinking of Disney's Giselle when I see the name. She was the princess who went to New York I think. She started out as a 2d cartoon character and then became a live action character. I wonder what type of clothing she will come with. I am also hopeing she comes with more ethnic characters.

It would be awesome if she were a senior. We could use some older figures. =-) I do realize the chances are small, 'tho.

That seems unlikely, Aiko has name recognition, in this age we live in, companies seem to think "Brand" is everything. You see this even with celebrities referring to their "brand". So, I can't see DAZ abandoning a popular name.

You mean like Laura? Luke, Ben & Maddie have vanished as well, but Laura still retains a solid fanbase.

My personal hope is that Giselle turns out to be either another teen or a Stalker Girl type for G2F. Josie is great, but it would be nice to have an alternate body type to start out with, and Stalkie surprised the heck out of me by becoming one of my go-to shapes.

If DAZ really brings me one, I am taking the plunge with pro bundle :D.

Same here, could use a 3D gazelle more than a Giselle, LOL.

Ehh... I wouldn't use Teens/Kids as a good example. Let's recall that Laura & Luke as well as Matt & Maddie were are not the original Millennium Kids, the first ones were actually kid versions of Vicky and Mike (and named specifically as such).

So even far back as the earlier Generations the youth spectrum was to be different every time. However, it's clear that all of the adult figures get significantly different treatment. Since Gen 2 there's always been a Victoria, Michael, Stephanie, and Aiko.
