This is the Naaru character from Giselle, with Bloomingwood Hair and Pixium Dress. I am getting an error message in my studio (that has nothing to do with this product, I've gotten it for a few days)that I'm missing

    /data/Age of Armour/Subsurface Shaders/AoA_Subsurface/AoA_Subsurface.dsf

so I'm getting grainy shadows. Just ignore those please. If I get it figured out, I will replace the render with the good one. :)
This is using the Sunbathing poses. (Edit- don't know if that product is causing the shoulder skin to pull so tight and sinewy, or if it's just because the character is so thin.)

EDIT: Am tweaking settings to solve grainy shadows, added a second render (extreme closeup) using UE2. Still some grainy but much better. This is still Naaru.

Instead of the usual "maybe when I save up money" or "maybe if I win the lottery", Giselle 6 is firmly in the "couldn't pay me to buy" category. Well, that saves me money at least.

    Count me as underwhelmed.

That makes two of us. Generic face (that face style is been overused to death) and a body you can get with dials from other characters. I don't even like the texture (she looks like she's covered with powder--or is that fairy dust?). Don't see why this is worth so much money.

Are faes and fairys supposed to have long, slender limbs? Is that the style. Just asking; I'm not trying to criticize Daz. I might Giselle for her texture. I'm still trying to save money for Gia and Olympia.

As faes etc are creatures of the imagination they can have any appearance you like, this is just one interpretation.

Indeed, in an AD&D mini-campaign I once ran the major blacksmith of the fae realm was a little 'cutey' about 3" tall. You did NOT mess with her. Not more than once, at least ;)

Have you tried re-installing the default lights and shaders for DAZ Studio? Check DIM and make sure that the default lights and shaders for DAZ Studio are installed in a mapped directory.

How can you, in all seriousness, be uncertain.

Or was that post meant as a joke which I just failed to comprehend?

To be fair, I hadn't seen the promos or any advertisements for Giselle. I don't really frequent the Members Only forums as often as others so I assumed people were basing it off seeing shape adjustments for Giselle included with other clothing items. Though I'll admit the fact there was a second Giselle was a tiny bit confusing :)

Having seen the release (and now purchased it) I can say she's a wonderful addition. I always tend to get attracted by the Pro bundles since they're incredible value for money, and I adore fairies if my previous art postings weren't enough of a giveaway. Here's my first render with her in the spriteling outfit and a dash of youth morph for added adorable.

Well, I don't have a problem with the character herself, but this is the second figure in a row where the contents of the bundles just seem to be extremely redundant and repetitive. So, as with Gianni (the man without a shirt,) I'll probably pick Giselle (the girl who lives in the bushes) when she eventually goes on super-sale, but I'd have been a lot more inclined to buy now if the bundles had included some non-fantasy clothing or a non-pale white girl skin. I can only guess that they're saving the next Gothic-Lolita outfit onslaught for the next version of Aiko...

Giselle doesn't have to be an fairy. I found out that with a bit of tweaking she does an awesome alien. Used Xena's Wicked Queen, a bit more bluish skin, slanted eyes and longer fingers. Have to make a browless face though, to give her the hairless look I want.

Normal maps are missing from the Giselle 6 zip.

'16 Texture, Bump, Normal and Specular Maps (4096 x 4096)'

The included normal maps were the only reason I made the purchase.

Whoa, that's freaky. The outfit gives the feeling of there being 'odd things' underneath, which makes it even creepier.

I think she is nice but I will pass. I'm not going to pay almost $30 for the base and I don't want any of the skimpware. I really wish there wasn't so much skimpware.

Sorry but I don't really see the contents that have been released with her as skimpware, the fairy outfits are very pretty and fairy don't usually come dressed in highnecked long dresses, and the wicked dress is hardly skimpware, or perhaps our ideas of skimpware are different.

I think Muon Quark is talking about Faertara (?) Clothes for Gen2F. Perhaps Spriteling to some extent too... Or the additional releases. I need to ask Sickleyield if her morphs can be used without Giselle too. The pack does contain a swimwear set that leaves little for the imagination, but we get those packages for the morphs and the clothes are just an added bonus for me.
    .

Yes Cecilia, thanks. I was talking about Faetara and also the micro bikinis she's dressed in for a lot of the promos and also just in general. Seems we've had a lot of skimpware lately IMO. I do like her though but not for $30.

If you're selling a character it makes sense to dress him/her in as skimpy clothing as possible so the customers can see what they're buying..

Good point. Although Muon Quark is more than correct about the abundance of skimpwear, especially since the release of Gen2F.

Cute! Which reminds me, her 'bellows' for the forge was a red dragon ... ;)
I like 'messing about' with the 'wee folk', and in a V:tM campaign a botched hunt roll by one of the vamps (the botch was he tried to nibble on a fae) led to him smelling really strongly of lavenders for the next 2 weeks until he managed to apologise ;)

WE need RawArt to do that one. LOL
It would make for a good Ticked off Giselle.

I'm not getting any discount at all on the base figure? Is that right?

At first I thought the image on Renpatu's post was a rendered version of Giselle 6 and went looking for the shape/texture.....I've never watched Torchwood (but I guess I should) so I didn't get the reference. I agree that RawArt could probably do a pretty cool version based on the image---scary fairies are fun, too!

Meh, its ok,. No normal/displacement maps. And the obvious limitation of the fixed G2F weight map.
Texture is mediocre in Lux. But in its favor, no baked in ambient occlusion.

G2F/G2M/G1 charters such as Giselle6 are severely limited by their respective fixed weight maps. And lack of JCM utilization.
Giselle 6 lacks JCMs, normal, displacement and SSS maps.

Sorry to say, save your cash and don't bother.

Texture looks pretty decent to me in Lux. It's been explained why the weight maps are fixed. As for JCMs, I haven't seen a spot that I feel needs them desperately in Giselle6, but I've only just started using her.

I think she's rather useful, and well made.
