I'm not entirely certain whether Giselle is a new Daz character or not. There is already a Giselle character available from Adam Thwaites, on either his Digital Creations site or Rendo. I will admit that it's not often we see fits added for 3rd party figures like that, but it's a consideration at least.

If DAZ 3D advertises it then DAZ 3D releases it, simple. DAZ 3D does not advertise, nor allow adverts from, off site Commercial sites. SO the Major promo that DAZ 3D is running at the moment is obviously for Giselle 6, a new DAZ 3D character.

How can you, in all seriousness, be uncertain.

Or was that post meant as a joke which I just failed to comprehend?

Also, if Giselle was not going to be a DAZ Original, she wouldn't be marketed as "Giselle 6," she'd simply be called "Giselle," or else "Giselle for Genesis 2 Female" or something like that.

Well, it's official, Giselle is definitely the Fantasy/Fairy type. Finally! :)

Based on the preview thread in the Members' Only forum, she's a new G2F character.

No way, she must be Gen2F AND DAZ Original too, there are no other options. Otherwise at least some vendors would supply fits for Dawn and other non-DAZ figures. I know there are DAZ vendors who sell Dawn fits for their DAZ products at HiveWire. DAZ would not issue newsletters for other shops' items (by the way, I got the issue you linked too the next day).

How exactly do you think a vendor can supply a "fit" to Dawn of a full body morph character?

I think she means fits for clothing items. I have seen some clothes for G2F (not at DAZ, obviously) that also had fits for Dawn available.

I forgot to mention that she was a DO. My bad.

Count me as underwhelmed. At this point, Giselle appears to be no more than a slimmed-down and slightly-stylized version of Teen Josie 6 -- if you already have TJ6, I see no real reason to add Giselle.

Also, while the character apparently uses her own UV maps, the G2F genitals have not been updated, which leaves a nasty gap in the texture. Don't know if DAZ intends Giselle not to be used with the G2F gens, or if the updated G2F gens files simply haven't been posted yet.

On the plus side, her skin texture is very nice.

    MUCH LATER...

After tinkering around with her, it appears that the default Giselle texture does not work properly with the G2F gens, and the archive does not appear to contain a separate hip or genital texture. Teen Josie 6 uses the Surfaces tab >> UV Set >> Base Female setting so her default texture can be used with the G2F gens, but this is not the case with Giselle. However, Giselle can use the G2F gens without issue if you use the textures from V6, G6, etc. -- just not her own texture.

This product smacks of "if they'll buy this, they'll buy anything".

    +1
Dial some "Fairy" and "Thin" for Josie and Giselle body is pretty much done. The Giselle face is of type I never liked.

I guess like a pose file that translates the values to fit the model's head, for instance. I am certain there was Actual Hair 2 for DAWN at HiveWire. It required any version from DAZ, I think.

I think she means fits for clothing items. I have seen some clothes for G2F (not at DAZ, obviously) that also had fits for Dawn available.

Yes, several Rendo products got updates with support for Dawn. Some vendors changed their base figure, for example Ali switched from V4 to V4 AND Dawn.

Now let's review Giselle as she hit the shop this morning. Well, even though usually parts of bundles are interesting for me, it's not this case. However, Giselle may not be totally lost for me, because this promo shows her to be quite similar to Christina Ricci, in other words...

    WEDNESDAY ADDAMS!!!

See yourself if it didn't strike you before.

Change the hair to Lada Hair in raven black, remove the makeup, use a pale texture like V5 Elite Valerie.

I think she is nice but I will pass. I'm not going to pay almost $30 for the base and I don't want any of the skimpware. I really wish there wasn't so much skimpware.

I like her. She has a longish torso and a not huge bust size, and is beautiful. There are a lot of women in the world that fit this shape.

Edit: To my eye, Giselle 6 differs quite a lot from Teen Josie 6.

Sorry but I don't really see the contents that have been released with her as skimpware, the fairy outfits are very pretty and fairy don't usually come dressed in highnecked long dresses, and the wicked dress is hardly skimpware, or perhaps our ideas of skimpware are different.

Are faes and fairys supposed to have long, slender limbs? Is that the style. Just asking; I'm not trying to criticize Daz. I might Giselle for her texture. I'm still trying to save money for Gia and Olympia.

As faes etc are creatures of the imagination they can have any appearance you like, this is just one interpretation.

They do need to be aerodynamic (the ones with wings anyway). I was told that, with the greatest authority, by a 10 year old once, who thought the Fairy I had done for her would never be able to fly as her boobs were too big.

I think Muon Quark is talking about Faertara (?) Clothes for Gen2F. Perhaps Spriteling to some extent too... Or the additional releases. I need to ask Sickleyield if her morphs can be used without Giselle too. The pack does contain a swimwear set that leaves little for the imagination, but we get those packages for the morphs and the clothes are just an added bonus for me.

Anyway, before I consider buying Giselle, I'll take a closer look at Thorne's morphkits as usual. I have a feeling they will be enough to create Wednesday. Oooh, I cannot wait for that!

First, a throughout backup, then wiping my hard disc, installing DS...

What I'm sure of, I will not buy any bundles. Even the hairstyles didn't click on me. Pixium Dress has a nice bashable look, perhaps for a beggar? If I retextured it, of course... Eh, only time will tell.

Ah, stunning! That's great point, you know! Can you give me the contact to that expert please? I think we may have a lot in common :D.

You know... It is all about how you imagine, the cultural heritage plays an important role too. And, boys and girls, remember: ELVES AREN'T NICE.

Not really, no, not in this set. The morphs were built on Giselle, and they need her dialed in at least partly to look right.

...that's why they have magic, otherwise some like Nursoda's Vila and 3D Sublime's Feodora would seriously violate aerodynamic wing loading rules. ;-)

I really like her she actually adds quite a bit to the gene pool.
She also transfers over to G2M very well.
This is G2m with 100% Giselle Head and about 50% Giselle Body and little else dialled.

I only do not like the boots in Elven Grove Outfit, but that's just me, I hate this type of impractical high-heeled boots in fantasy outfits.

I became your instant fan for this statement. I'm head over heels (HEELS! :P) with you!
