Starting to get my feet wet with Zbrush now. Nothing serious, just practicing what I'm reading... Er, watching :)

Entirely likely I'll scrap this down the road when I get more practice in, but at least I'm comfortable navigating the viewport now.

nice model. I still haven't created anything with Hexagon 2.5. I bought it when it was on sale for $1.99.

Next, I will need to learn how to create texture images.

I got it at full price, only used it a few times, but never made anything with it. Heh, I made more with Carrara 6's hopelessly backwards modeling tools than I did with Hexagon, despite the tools seeming to be easier and more powerful!

On a similar note, I did more texture/material wise in Carrara than I did in Cinema 4D as well. Can't say the same for Splines and Models though :)
Never did understand Carrara's "spline" tool. Only got abstract and deformed... Things... Out of it

Poked around more on my "model" just now. Picking away at it and hoping I'll find some form in the guy. Still need to address the toes and his missing one finger though :)

    It looks really good :)

Don't know why one 12 core machine would render 30 times faster than another, must be an OS version thing.

I hafta say I'm a bit impressed with myself too! What with how quickly I'm adding in some details and stuff. Simple things so far, but hey.

Trying to focus on the legs and feet right now. Making heavy use of masking to get finer details, especially around the 'kill' claw which had too smooth of a transition between foot and claw before.

I've always been a fast learner~ If I can stay focused on what I'm trying to learn long enough to learn it XD

Oh, looked it up in my Funk & Wagnall's:
contumacy: Contemptuous disobedience of authority; insolent defiance; insubordination.

i came across it in the dictionary during a scrabble game.

thanks. i get confused with the past.

I just checked on the cake. It is beautiful. Going to get it tomorrow. I hope my mum thinks it is beautiful too. I hope she will take pictures of it so I can show it here.

...still experiencing extremely sluggish response just with the Daz site (Forums and Store). Spent nearly fifteen minutes waiting for the page to refresh and sign on to work before I could even start this. It is making me feel I am back on my old unstable wireless plan than high speed broadband.

Before it is even asked, yes, I cleared my cache & such.

When I first came to this page, all the banners had the "broken graphic" symbol.

After I clicked "login", there was a long wait only to receive a "reset" error message.

I backed up and tried again I finally got the sign in page after nearly five minutes of waiting. I clicked the "Login" button only to first wait, and then find myself back to the sign in page, not the thread. After clicking the "Login" button the second time waited another 4- 5 minutes and finally was signed in.

I have no issue pulling up other websites as they loaded almost instantly including those heavy with detailed pages/animations as well as overseas news source sites.

This is making me feel I am hitting some sort of flaky node either at the CloudFlare or the Daz Server source.

I am running FF 28.0 which I've been using for the last couple months with no issue until these last couple days.

I'm just wondering if FF might have updated itself without your knowledge.

...nope still getting the 29.0.1 pop ups but haven't clicked on "update".

Streaming the Beatles Rubber Soul album right now with no issue.

The site crashed my browser earlier, safari 7.0.3 (9537.75.14)
...installed FF 29.0 before turning in for the night. Seems to be running a lot smoother.

Getting used to an app's UI is half the job. Once you get used to using new software, the easier it is.

Rex looks like he's coming along nicely, considering you've just started using ZBrush.
...with Blender learning the UI it's more like 85%.

There was a weekend sale ?

I thought there was one but I missed it. Or did I miss a nonexisting sale.
...I've pretty much become immune to sales these days. The only things I got during MM were the freebies and something with my monthly 6$ coupon.

Congratulations on being immune to sales. I just was barely on the computer this weekend and I wanted to play Sims 3 and also ds and work on my website. Just doing the to do list and the blanket for my sister in law tired me out. It was a lot of work making that blanket.

Bought Hexagon on a sale six years ago for something like 56$ (originally retailed for something like 110$). Barely used it as it kept freezing up and crashing in the midst of whatever I was working on. Tried to switch to Blender but got frustrated with the UI so still have not gotten any grasp on modelling yet. The concepts are difficult enough to learn on their own without having to deal with instability (Hexagon) or a seemingly incomprehensible UI (Blender).

...the only "real" purchase I've made since MM was for GenX 2 as I have been waiting for it's release since last year. Already having bought the original plugin a couple years ago, I received a 66% discount which made if cost just over 12$.

Last bit of work on my "raptor" for today. I'm in desperate need of naptime right now, having been awake for like... Well, almost 18 hours I wager >_<</p>

Heh, I've done just about everything possible to make it inaccurate and unrealistic as far as raptors go but at least I'm having fun.
