i'm trying to create an account for an online chat room.  They want me to email them my registration details.  I think using a web form would be better.  I forgot some details when typing the email.  Web forms have actual lables and fields.  Its 2020 - just create a simple webform or buy a premade script and set it up on the server.  *sigh*  Now I need to wait for the administrator to respond and ask the details that I forgot to type in.

In actuality, I have lived here, I dunno, maybe 15 years? Something like that. Every year I get only one or two groups of kids that come knocking. Most kids seem to have their parents drive them to a few select rich neighborhoods, instead of walking around their own neighborhoods lol.

y coudin took me to IHOPs for breakfast.  crepes with lingonberriescheeky

bangars and mash hold the bangars

is mash the same as homefries?  how do you say bacon?  do you differentiate canadian bacon?

had a really weird dream about Poland in ww2.  i think cause i was trying to play witcher3 and witcher was written by a polish author.
anyhow, yep dreamt of poland.  and it was rife famine like in Velen.  in my dream the pope was trying to get food to Poland to relieve the suffering.

i really have no notion of what the Vatican was doing during WW2 times.  Mussolni and al that.  movies usually show secret societies and corruption .
i learned from watching foyle's war mysteries about the rationing.  there was no pet food.  and from watching IP man, how the japanese occuation in China brought famine and how people were suffering.

gonna haftz leaave the lights on all night.

I miss NY Deli bacon egg and cheese on a roll yo. Everyone I know that grew up in NY, and moved elsewhere, the same thing. NY Pizza and breakfast sandwiches from the deli are sorely missed lol.

    ...mash is mashed potatoes.

In the UK bacon is called "bacon", though its a different cut than US bacon, as it is more like thin sliced pork tenderloin. It is cured but not smoked  What we refer to as "Canadian bacon" is similar to what they serve in the UK.  Both the UK and Canadian versions come form the loin which is much leaner than US bacon which comes form the fatty part of the belly.

...same here. we used to have Noah's here which were true New York styled bagels properly made.  They not only had a large selection of traditional "Schmears" and real "New York" coffee.  They also made their own classic bagel dogs using kosher hot doggies.  Sadly they were bought out by an outfit called Einstien's that only lasted a couple years afterwards before going out of business.  Noah's on the other hand was very popular here.

I also miss real kosher delis.  The only one we had (that charged a fair price) went out of business years ago.  There is another that has been around for a while, but it's overly expensive as it is in the upscale part of town.

...non complaint.  Finally got a decent chair for my workstation area (no more sitting on an old wooden shaker chair with a pillow on it).  Found it at this wonderful little second hand shop in the neighbourhood, only 25$ (compared to 150$ or more for one of those gaudy looking gaming chairs).  It is very similar to the office chair I had when I was still working, High back, dark grey cloth covering (instead of vinyl), with arm rests, and nice lumbar support.  The store was able to hold it for 4 days so I was able to get a friend with a car to help pick it up.

Feels so much better and my arms are at a better angle for the keyboard trackball so less fatigue.

My birthday is coming near.  Still several weeks, but I'm beginning to think of what wonderful surprise gift I'll be giving myself this year.  Last year it was a new computer that took me 8 months to completely purchase and assemble all the parts to the way I'd envisioned.indecision

I think I'd enjoy a new office chair.  But I'm tired of buying cheap office chairs that either rupture their hydraulics.  Or their "bonded leather" covering sheds big flakes like it has mange after three years.frown  Perhaps "faux leather" instead of "bonded leather".  Apparently there is a difference.  I'd love a real leather chair but I can't even find one which means that they must be priced like a Rolls Royce (i.e. if you have to ask, you can't afford it).

Alternatively, my recliner chair is a little long in the tooth.  It was 2nd-hand from a home that had cats that used a small part of it for scratching.frown  But it still works well, so it will probably stick around for a while.

I've thought of having a couch but have no place to put one.frown

I did break down and finally buy a humidifier just a few days ago.yes  Because already this year, the dry air is making my nose & throat dry.  I don't tolerate weather extremes as well as I used to.sad

I've thought about replacing my 10 year old laptop, but it's working fine, and in pristine condition and with a new SSD it runs better than it ever did.  So, why replace it.indecision

Perhaps in the end it would be better if I surprised myself with a balanced budget instead of a new toy.surprise

    surpriseSpooky cat eyes!

Non-complaint:  Wheee... I've scratched a little of my birthday itch.  My wireless headphones (Sennheiser RS-170) were designed in 2012 and my particular model is no longer in production.  Mine are at least 6 years old and looking a little ragged(again).  The "bonded leather" ear cushions and headband cushions have "unbonded" and are flaking off onto my face and in my hair. frown  About 3 years ago I replaced the earpads and could do it again, but I started thinking of birthday surprise.  But, surprise, the price of new equivalent headphones just chased that thought away.surprise  There's nothing functionally wrong with my headphones or transmitter, except that the volume control is not ergonomically designed (i.e. clumsy as hell) but I've learned how to live with it.  The only problem is the flaking, mangy cushions.crying  I went to the Sennheiser site, but no luck.  However, at Amazon (of course) I found a new cushion set (earpads AND headband pads) for about $20 so I'm pickled tink that my headphones will once again look new.  Yay!  And I didn't bust my budget!  Yay!smiley  So maybe when this set of cushions wears out in 3 or 4 years I'll think about new headphones again. Yay!devil

I'd be lost without my headphones.sad  I use them more and more for watching TV and listening to music while DAZing, but what I really need now in my audio setup is an equalizer.  So that I can customly emphasize the frequencies that I have trouble hearing.  Hmmm..., back to the Amazon and NewEgg catalogs.enlightened

I been using these cheap gaming headphones a while, decided to see what the fuss was with the more expensive ones. Cheapo ones were like 30 bucks, expensive ones were closer to 200. I didn't like the more expensive ones at all, my music sounds all weird with them. Went back to using my cheapo gaming ones for 99% of the things, and use the so-called better ones for just listening to audiobooks. I also cannot listen to music on speakers anymore, as that sounds weird now too lol. So my nice 250 speaker set sits unused most of the time. Only time I use then is when my uncle is being a jerkoff blasting the TV downstairs so loud I can hear it over my headphones, then I will crank mine up to shake the house :P

I tried less expensive digital headphones but found the sound "ragged".  The ones I have now are near the low end of Sennheiser's over-the-ear, wireless, digital product line but are dead quiet when they should be, and when sounding, are clean, as they should be.  They're also quite light and longterm wearable.  I could get by with less expensive ones, but at my age, I like pampering myself now and then.  Besides, I saved a big bundle by not buying quality speakers & powerful amps.smiley  Yeah, I'm missing flesh homogenizing bass, but If I want my body to shake with sound, I just wait for the kids in the other apartment to stomp up and down the stairway for hours.indecision

Non-complaint:  Music to DAZ by.  Went poking around my collection again today and found myself in the Ippolitov-Ivanov folder.  I'm quite familiar with his "Caucasian Sketches"  Suite #1, but realized that the other half (suite #2) was mostly unfamiliar to me.   The one (of 4) songs in the suite that is familiar is the last one "Georgian March"

     Michail Michailavich Ippolitov-Ivanov:  [Михаи́л Миха́йлович Ипполи́тов-Ива́нов] Caucasian Sketches #2

I.Introduction (Lamentation of Princess Ketevanna):0:00  Slow, somber.
    II.Berceuse (Lullaby): 9:45   Quiet
III.Lesghinka: 13:39 Begins slow, but builds to a frantic dance at the end
IV.Caucasian War March (Georgian March): 18:10  May be recognizable as a background music in some movies, or just one of those things you've heard in your life but had no idea where it came from.

And just for grins & giggles, I just discovered that he was born on the same day of the year I was, also the same day of the year that Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address.surprise

You mean you aren't supposed to pour a shot, put it to your lips and throw your head back quickly while swallowing in one swift motion? I've been doing it wrong, I guess.

...I have a small satellite/subwoofer system which can approach flesh melting bass levels if I turn it up.

An old audiophile here who likes superior frequency response and used to have some nice Hi-Fi gear. To get that sort of performance from headphones can be pretty expensive (yeah, love that 8 hz rumble of a 32' organ pipe and deep tones of orchestral double bass and bass trombones).   I generally set the levels pretty flat for a normal acoustic feel though I do have an equaliser utility that includes various types of effect filters like concert hall, cathedral, etc if the recording quality is too "dry".  Fortunately the walls where I live are nice and thick (and I don't crank the volume to "11",  crikey, barely above 40 - 50%) so no complaints form the neighbours.
