I like fried chicken. I don't want eat them alive.
Old movie. I spotted a lot of young old faces but among them were Jessica Fletcher and Sherlock Holmes.
Why does it seem that when Daz chooses new freebies they tend to be hidden when I have "hide items I own" checked? Is it because they go to my order history and pick out the DO items from there? Or is there a glitch that says I own too much?
I hate loose threads. It is so hard to figure out which direction the bobbin is. Why do thread bobbins get so messy and loose?
I think 3D-printed clothes are the way to go.
If they're like most Daz clothes you'll need auto-magnetize to wear them in public.
I figured if the printing material was stretchy enough, I could just select an outfit, get into my T pose and let the machine spray me. Something much like The Jetsons had.
Complaint: Lots of DAZ fiddling ahead of me with this computer switcheroo. I've moved my DAZ libraries several times in the last few years and it's gotten increasingly more boogered. It's probably time that I straighten the mess out when I move it, yet again, to my brand new "super" DAZing machine. I've been getting by with fixing broken links and re-installing individual models when trying to load old scenes. I might as well just put things where they're expected.
Non-complaint: After having bought all my new computer parts and accessories (furniture) I was afraid to look at my budget status. But today I ran the numbers and after all is said and done, and considering what's left in my checking account and "active" savings account (I still have a significant "inactive" savings account, so I'm not broke broke) and cash on-hand, I ended up $30 on the good side. Yay! Of course, I do have two weeks left before I get another income check but I have no place to go, my food cupboard is full, I have no doctor's appointments all my credit cards are paid off, and all my bills are paid. I just have to sit tight for two weeks and not order anything from Amazon or NewEgg, or DAZ.
And maybe in 6 months or a year when graphics card prices come back down out of the stratosphere and the good cards are actually available I'll have more than enough saved to be able to get a better graphics card that matches the capability of this new computer.
'Nother non-complaint: Lunch today was a toasted cheese sandwich on sweet thick slices of whole wheat bread, fried in the pan with real butter. Mmmm... cholesterol.
i'm thinkin of going walking without the rollator, just take the cane. gotta get my legs stronger. i'd rather die than lose my independence

My iPad was at 100% this morning but now it is at 31%?
Complaint: Arghhh. I finally got around to examining my new CPU cooler and it is a monster. I let my emotions do the shopping instead of my brains. More is not better when the cooler won't fit in the case. I didn't actually mount the cooler but did do some careful measuring. It would have worked on my other ATX case but the case that I bought for this new machine is slightly smaller and it would be pressing right up against the glass side panel if not actually deforming it or keeping it from being safely secured. (*sigh*) I won't make that mistake again. Upon reflection I don't need such a monster cooler. So, since I bought it from Amazon, and am a member of Amazon Prime, it goes back at no charge to me. Yay! But then I turned right around and bought a slightly smaller, but still quality, cooler. Again from Amazon. It is scheduled to be here Friday along with all the rest of my parts that are coming.
Anyone else sad right now?
....more disappointed and concerned.
I go through all of the emotions except maybe anger every day. I'm not sad right now though. But I do have pressure to prepare a presentation I'm supposed to do tomorrow.
Complaint - My ISP did a remote something to my modem/router yesterday which shafted my wirless card connectivity. Had to buy a much more expensive MSI one.... which didn't come with the drivers which I had to download. How do they expect you to download drivers when you've lost connectivity? Lucky I had a loptop that worked to save to USB. No warning from my ISP and no driver disc with the new wirless card. Lost a day's productivity. Civilisation is collapsing.
I only concern myself with those things I can have an effect on.
Anxiety results from any other approach. Been there, done that, don't like it.
I try to stay positive. It's not easy but it's worth it.
i need kahlua to make mudslides. is a long frigid walk to fetch it 34F, but thinkin of the warmth after i get home with it. a pickleent of a conundrum
Meow?
..wackawacka.*

I can't find my Bluetooth headphones that my iPad is apparently connected to?
I'm confused, complaint: My replacement 450w powersupply for my old computer has arrived. So far, all is OK, the old computer is quite happy with its new 450w PS and is not crashing every half hour. Yay!
Having now reclaimed my 850w power supply that was being used temporarily in the old computer, I've now installed it into my big new computer. Continuing with the assembly of my new computer, I've added cables to my new 850w PS in anticipation of installing the new motherboard when the RAM arrives tomorrow. HOWEVER, I'm confused. The new motherboard (Asus, Prime Z490-A) has more power connectors than I expected. I see the 24-pin main connector and have a cable for it, no problem. But the CPU power connector is confusing me. I'm used to motherboards that only used a 4-pin connector for CPU power but am aware that some motherboards use an 8-pin connector for the CPU power. This board however, has an 8-pin and a 4-pin connector. But I don't have a 12-pin CPU power cable but I do have an 8-pin cable and a 4-pin cable, both labeled "CPU". The manual that comes with the Prime Z490-A motherboard is very sparse about instructions on these two connectors. They are labeled on the board as "EATX 12v-1" (8-pin), and "EATX 12v-2" (4-pin). A brief cryptic sentence in the manual says (in clumsily translated English) to be sure to use the 8-pin, or use both 8-pin and 4-pin. They also warn about not using just the 4-pin. The PS is modular with an assortment of cables with various configurations of end plugs all carefully keyed. Can I assume that I can use both the 8-pin cable and the 4-pin cable as long as the keying is satisfied? Do I really need the full 12-pin configuration? My CPU is an Intel i7-10700 rated at 65w (other members of the i7-107xx family use up to 135w). I'm under the impression that 4-pins of power is too little, 12-pins is overkill, and 8-pins is just right? Yes? No? Enquiring people want to know...
...my old P6T has an 8 pin connector. The PSU came with an 8/2x4 pin connectorfor the CPU. Never seen 12 pins for that connection.
Complaint: My new RAM for my new super machine may not arrive today.
Non-complaint: My old sick HP computer has it's new power supply installed, the internal cables have all been routed & tie-wrapped. I've reinstalled both the 4-port USB3 card, and the original (ancient) AMD graphics card (so that I can use the HDMI output) that I'd originally removed thinking that they might have been the cause of my crashes. Everything seems to be running hunky-dory now and the side of the case has been put back on, the table all cleaned up around it and the cable tangle behind it reorganized. Everything back to normal. Yay!
Complaint: Now that I've rescued the old HP and am about to add a new machine going to the same monitor, I have the issue of too many keyboards. I already have three computers around me (one on each branch of my "U" shaped work area and each with its own monitor and keyboard. But now I'll have four and will have to share a monitor and keyboard with one of them. Sigh, now I need to go looking for an affordable kbd/monitor switch. Either that or retire one of the older machines. Ach, noooo, not my baby.
Non-complaint: Regarding my old HP's bad power supply... Now, having climbed the mountain struggling with each handhold and reached the top, I can see that the bad power supply was the road up the other side. But I have to admit that the climb was actually fun, and I did enjoy the planning and shopping for a new machine. Learned a lot of new technology.
One thing I have to admit though is that this is the first time that I've run into the problem of a weak power supply. I've found them dead or massively crippled but never just weak enough to cause intermittant problems. And thinking back through the problems I've been having with that old HP computer over the last year, I can now see the pattern of slow degredation of performance. From the once a month failures to the once a week failures, to the once a day failures to the once every half hour failures**. Yep, road up the other side.
** Possibly cheap capacitors slowly drying out?
Might be snow in my future? Need to learn black on black background is not a good idea for screenshots.
Somebody needs to sweep the kitchen. Oh wait that is my chore so I guess I need to do that?
Non-complaint: Wheee... my new keyboard to replace the one that died a week or so ago, has arrived. I wanted one with letters that wouldn't get chipped off by my fingernails (cheap keyboards just have decals glued to the keytops. Grrrr) What I found was this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008CXTX7S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The keys light up (I sometimes play in the dark), and being that the letters are translucent, to let the light below them through, I think it will be a long time before my fingernails destroy them. Although when I first plugged it in and found the button that changes the colors I was worried that it only cycled through three colors and I couldn't turn them off. But after reading the instructions (go figure) I found that if I hold the button for 3 seconds the light switches off/on. Yay! Happy, happy, joy, joy.
I was also afraid that the big letters on the keytops meant that the keys themselves were larger (I'm old and like the bigger letters* but I don't have giant hands nor am I so ancient that I need bigger keys) but upon examination, the keys are exactly the same size as regular keys but just a little bit differently shaped. i.e. wider keytops but the keys themselves are spaced normally. Types nicely, feels OK. And the lighted keys are very muted and unobtrusive. All is good.
* Not that I need to see the letters, I've been touch typing for almost 60 years. I learned to type back in the dark ages when the general concensus was that it was a girls job and not needed for boys. My mother made me learn. Thank you mom.
