    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYSTIARRA!!

Also... I just realized your username is a combo of your old "Misty" name and your favorite program Carrara...

Geez, I must have looked at it 10,000 times over the past several years and that never dawned on me... WTF is wrong with my tiny little brain?

    Lots.

    Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I have no cake to offer... well... except for...

Behold! The Magical Corn Muffin of Malagorg!
A legend amongst muffins of corn!

And today I shall consume this muffin not just because I was going to do so anyway because it's still warm, hopefully because my daughter just baked it, and not because some sort of large warm blooded animal, possibly a Capybara, Vulture or Octopus was sitting on it... usually the sign on baked goods say "Don't Touch" or "Dad Don't Eat These!!!", means they are freshly baked... and thusly I shall devour this muffin, not just for the aforementioned reasons and my propensity towards greedily consuming anything left unprotected by a laser guided machine gun turret, but because today is your birthday Misty! A day of joy and celebration and possibly pillaging and looting, depending on how much energy you have...

I should probably just eat the muffin and move on...

    Happy Birthday!

  • Birth day... So long ago, so far away.indecision  But happy birth anniversary.smiley

Complaint:  Senile brain farts.  In my previous post about tea on my kitchen window sill I claimed that I keep my teas in "bottles", which paints a strange picture.surprise  Yeah, I roll up the tea bags and stuff each one individually into empty Coke bottles and when I want one I fish it out with a bent paper clip.frown  Actually if my brain hadn't failed me I would have named the container a "jar".  Makes much more sense.  Folger's instant coffee used to come in clear plastic jars with a screw-on, wide, red top.  Over the first few years of living here I saved my empty coffee jars and started giving them a second life as food containers for sugar, salt, flour, coffee, tea, pistachios, brown rice, matches, whatever...  Just the right size to stack on one end of my window sill.enlightened

"Bottles", (*sigh*) gettin' old.  Words evaporating or trading places.sad

Unfortunately, Folgers doesn't use those jars anymore, their new container has an hourglass shape, and not nearly as convenient for use as my container arrary.  They "improved" it.frown

Non-complaint:  One more post before I go make supper.  I ran across this video today.  I've long time known this about the relationship of matter and spacetime but had never seen it explained so clearly.  Enjoy, or get even more confused, but it's yet another way to visualize the weirdness of reality.

Note:  The first 2 and a half minutes are typical time vs velocity wierdness, but the explanation gets interesting at 2:30.

If it's any consolation, I figured that's what you meant... I defy you to say that of pretty much anything I write... but regardless, I figured you meant "Glass based containment device with a screw off lid"... the cool part about being in my shoes is nobody will know when I'm getting senile, as I've pretty much seemed that way my whole life.

Complaint:  Arghhhh... no water this morning.  Opened the bathroom sink to brush my teeth and a diminishing  "psssssss" of tired stale air came forth.sad  Neighbors in the other half of the house are also without water.  Not sure if the pump finally gave up the ghost or the pipes froze last night.  It was only down to 6F last night.  We've experienced colder many times before without trouble.

Non-complaint:  I still have a few 12oz. bottles of 3 or 4 year old water that I saved from my frequent trips to Wendy's back when I had a car (which I sold at least a year and a half ago) so I was able to take my pills and make coffee this morning.  For once that old water saved for a rainy day, came in handy.  Also, neighbor went to the store and bought a couple gallons of water for me for a while.yes

News Flash:  My water just came back on.  Yay!  Also, the landlord just drove up.  I guess it was frozen pipes but now I, and the landlord especially, hope no pipes were broken.indecision

'Nother Non-complaint"  I'm glad I don't live in Texas this week.  At least we're prepared for cold weather up here near Buffalo.

Oh dear.  i created a monster.

Oversold the barcode inventory idea, has become a hot project and they want it yesterday.

was just desperate to be useful.  i'll have to take disable ride to the post office to mail out the barcode labels.  UPS charges to pick up packages.  dunno how the usps works it.

Almost makes you miss the fact that the "we will celebrate our Independence Day" line makes absolutely no sense.

i should order food before the next snow storm.dont need to order a whole piezza.  a slice. and a meatball hero parm.  should last a couple days.

    watching the antman movies next.

prices on the usb 3 ssd drives seem to be lowering.  240gb for 38.xx  might be fast enough to run an external runtime.  need 2 exact copies of my carrara runtime for each pc.  divvying up the render batches.

Non-complaint:  Wheee... my new 2TB WesternDigital "Black" 3.5" internal hard drive arrived.smiley  I'd been watching the prices on them and when NewEgg undercut Amazon by another $15 a week or so ago, I couldn't resist.  I spent all afternoon today tearing into my new computer and moving hard drives to more logical places and doing some more cable management.  Now I need to finish setting up the data structure I originally envisioned 2 years ago.   No more scrambling to find space on tiny external hard drives scattered throughout my system.   I have two major computers and one retiring minor computer and they'll all now be organized and backed up similarly.  Wheee...  No more chaos.

Yeah, I have other computers too.  Two HP old machines running Win10, and two ancient DELL machines running WinXP but they rarely get turned on and have very little data or functionality.  But they all also have internal backup drives just in case.  I won't bleed if I lose them but I just sleep easy knowing they have some protection against my fumble fingers or disintegrating matter.

Non-complaint:  For the last couple of days when my brain is busy working on my computer or idling while washing dishes or staring out the window at the snow/ice I have this earworm gliding through the back of my thoughts (or non-thoughts)heart  (the music, not the commercial)frown

In it I hear all that is beautiful, emotional, passionate, spiritual, calming.smiley  Who needs a music system when you have this in your memory strongly enough that it surfaces spontaneously?

The last live perforance I saw in concert, the summer before the coming of COVID, included this piece.  This movement (3rd movement of Rachmaninoff's 2nd symphony), so incredibly beautiful is only part of over an hour of a palace of sound.  From the first haunting notes of the 1st movement through the energetic finale of the 4th movement it's a masterpiece.  I feel so privileged to have finally heard it live.
