Yeah but the only drinks I am allowed to drink tea or lemonade, soda is forbidden for us to drink unless we buy it.

...well that's interesting. I'm running much older version of FF (4 updates behind because I'm sick of not having my Norton toolbar and other security plugins every time they roll out a new version) and I have no issues (at lest that I can see).

That's pretty silly if it is only compatible with the latest version of IE. It would be like making the next update of Daz Studio work only in Windows 8 (ugh). That ever happens, I'll seriously consider moving over to PoserPro.

If IE9 has conflicts with your workplace's databases and proprietary in house software, then it makes sense for them not to upgrade.

...odd as for most restaurants, Post Mix Fountain Sodas are the profit "cash cow". 4¢ per large cup for the ingredients (as well as lots of ice) and they charge 1.50 - 2.00$ for it. Cinemas rake in even a bigger profit as the price of an ice laden soft drink there can be as much as 4 - 5$.

We have a new housemate at my home but she is not my roommate. Do not know much about her but hopefully she will be less disruptive than the last new housemate.

Morning. Bright sun big blue sky and total traffic gridlock here today  Nothing is moving including me, half hour late for my 10 O'Clock and marooned in a Sargasso Sea of rusting vehicles on what we were calling a freeway yesterday that mutated into a parking lot overnight  My complaint is mobile broadband keeps dropping out, not sure why but possibly everyone in this traffic jam is on youtube at once

are there any free ebooks at B&N? I want to see if I can actually read a book with their app before actually committing anything to a book.

...sounds like traffic is a very serious issue there compared to where I live. Oh we get our commute hour "slowdowns, but they don't last very long and usually are not total gridlock (unless there is a major wreck that blocks everything). Oh people here of course complain about it, but they don't seem to even have a clue what commuters in the bigger cities have to deal with on a daily basis.

The most frustrating issue here are the many lift bridges that lead out of downtown to the east side which conveniently tend to go up right during the height of the commute.

Same with the LRT system as there always seems to be some kind of failure or breakdown right when everyone is tying to get to work in the morning or home in the evening.

probably because of those nasty food dyes. Or does it have that corn syrup junk?

...yup, HFCS is a primary ingredient (except in the "diet" versions and those chemicals are worse) but it isn't just that in my case.

Pretty much all major brands of sports/soft drinks use HFCS as the sweetener because it is cheaper than regular cane sugar.

Ingredients are listed from highest to lowest percentage of the product they make up. In most soft/sports drinks, usually the second one on the list is HFCS right after "water/carbonated water".

....I generally make what are called "Smashed Potatoes". The "soft serve" version reminds me too much of school lunch and airline food. In some cases they were so "runny" you could slurp them up through a straw.

I wonder if Fyrre will find this amusing... :)

    Is that from a game?

    Dana

World of Warcraft. Quest Givers all have exclamation points over their heads. And the raptor behind is... Well a raptor

Though in earlier versions the <!> would disappear if you leveled past the recommended bracket for the quest. Could still take it, but it wouldn't show up over their heads.

Hehe, a handsome raptor too :D
Two pics I found that included the guy (Though the second 'fishing' one could also be one of the stealth-raptors from WC, I can confirm the one in Ungoro with the tiger is indeed Takk)

...when I saw the banner at the top of the screen on the home page this morning that mentioned Coudflare (I have the home page as a permanent tab), I just figured the site was down again. When I clicked on it I got an odd looking sign in page (which I thought might have been the low res HTML version), with no username or password in the sign in fields. Since I have my password saved in FF (as being mildly dyslexic, I tend to forget these things) I was a bit annoyed, so I "backdoored" in through the forums (which I was already signed into), and only then were the username/password fields populated.

When I clicked on the store tab and the page came up, I wondered "who installed Win8 on my XP notebook while I was asleep?"

...just looked at a weather advisory for Swindon UK and it mentions thick patchy fog with "...smoke from bonfires potentially increasing the risk of visibility falling below 100 metres in some places for a time."

Of course, it's Guy Fawkes Day there.
