I'm not sure I like the new store layout. i will miss my drop downs and I still haven't found where the fast grab is (if we still have it)

Seriously though, the only thing I like about it so far is that you can hide the stuff you already own. :blank:

What? I didn't look at the store, just my account. I have to check that out.

Except for the last couple of days, it hasn't been so fast, anyway. And the prices are a bit high for the FastGrab, too. I remember getting fantastic deals when they first put it in play. Now...meh, mostly.

It is the last item on the right of the scrolling (manual) banner.

OK, the Wishlist is horrid! It will take ages to look through it. And there's no easy way to see what's on sale in there, they don't have the words "Special Price" anymore. Rather than giving us a checkbox to hide what I own...in my wishlist...how about one to show only DAZ Originals, and one to show only items On Sale? Make it easier for us to shop our wishlist, not more difficult!

Well, I just got Ollok for the Troll. I put it in my cart. Then I went to the cart and it was empty. I went back to the page for Ollok, and it said that it's in my cart. Back to the cart...yup, still empty. I had to add something for it to show up, then delete that other thing. So that isn't fixed! :-/

I tried the beta for the store. The first time I hated it. Next time it was a better experience. I quickly began to love it, especially being able to filter out the items I already own. I also like the way needed items are shown (with a note if you already own them). I think y'all will like it better after a week or two.

Brace yourselves though. I THINK forum changes are coming too. I seem to recall that we were told the store and forums would both change. I hope we can change the forum colors.

...please development, no horizontal scrolling "anything" in the forums.

...and don't turn them into a "TWIT-er" or "Farcebook" clone.

This influence by smartphones and tablets on the the look of and how one navigates Net services (and in one case, an OS) is really beginning to chafe my hide. "Real" computers have keyboards and mice (and in the case of my workstation a trackball), we don't need no stinkin' tiles and auto scrolling displays.

I agree with you, KK. I don't do anything DAZ on my phone. My laptop does have a little touchpad, but all I have learned to do with it is how to turn it off. I've been a typist for over 50 years (and a damn good one) and have no intention of being reduced to touching and dragging. Besides, my phone screen and keyboard are so small my fingers have trouble hitting just the key I want.

That's nice, yes. But I don't need to filter out what I own in my wishlist!

Yes, I remember that. I just cleared out my PMs earlier tonight. I save them in a Word document, so I can look back if need be, or have proof of what was said. Unfortunately it seems to have randomly deleted some messages...there were holes or gaps where there were replies without original messages, or vice versa. of course, some of those might have been from forgetting to check off Save a copy. I always said, and maintain, that that should have been checked by default. I wonder if it will get worse. Anyway, if they replace it, I'm ready unless someone sends me a PM tonight. Watch, someone will just to be funny. :smirk:

...I'm the same ay except with my arthritis texting is even more of a challenge. I usually end up inventing entirely new languages some of it even the Enigma Machine probably couldn't decode.

If you're a touch typist, then you would hate what HP and Dell are looking to foist on the public.. Computers with no more keyboards, just a touchscreen/pad. Now for 3D work it looks neat, but even I couldn't type anywhere near as fast or accurately as I do now (even given the key misfires I've been dealing with on the old notebook) on one of those compared to a "real" keyboard (I can still touch type with my left hand).

Not sure if I shared this before or not, but it's something I commissioned a friend to do for me. Her rendition of a mottled-blue raptor from Warcraft :)

Our laptop has what they call a touchpad. It's not the standard mouse pad. You can do the swipe actions on it. But neither of us really goes into the Metro mode very often. As I've said, you can tell it to boot into desktop mode all the time, and switch to the tiled screen if and when you want to. We have a mouse connected to it. She has gotten used to the keyboard on it. Originally she wanted to get a keyboard, but she hasn't said anything about that in quite a while.

Did you look into getting a firmware update for the laptop? I think that might fix the problem, maybe it is corrupted. It would seem to be indicated, since it happens with different keyboards.

As an aside, there was a contract programmer that COMDEX used to hire now and then who was really rough on keyboards. He literally pounded the keys. He'd need a new one every so often...a lot more often than any of us. I don't think I ever needed a new keyboard all the time I was there, but he went through a few. He said he was always replacing them at home. He probably bought them in batches.

...the notebook is going on 8 years old, I don't think there are any more updates available than what I already have for it. This began happening again only couple weeks after I got the new external keyboard. First it was just the "e" and "r" (as on the notebook's keyboard) then it began to spread to the "w", "a", "s" "i" and "3" keys. Again I've tied it in each of the USB ports in case one was going flaky and that isn't it. The odd thing is, three of the other keys that were burned out on the notebook the "4", "6" and "back arrow" key all work fine on the external keyboard.

It wouldn't hurt to look. Diane says the same thing, "I don't think..." then I tell her, no you didn't. How do you know unless you look? How much effort would it really take? For the chance that maybe your keyboard troubles will go away? It's up to you. Then again, maybe you are hard on your keyboard and just don't realize it. If you hook a brand new keyboard up, and go easy with it, and it still does the same thing...then it has to be something else.

    I don't know.

...it is definitely something else as with my arthritis, hammering the keyboard would be excruciatingly painful.

Toshiba hasn't made this model for nearly six years. Heck, even the gallery programme that came with it, which still tells me there is an update available, never does so when I click the "update" button.

The only firmware update under "Keyboards" for my model is an XP hotkey utility don't think that will help.

I'll have to address this on their forums tomorrow when I'm more wide wake.

...egads, a fantasy and skimpwear-palooza tonight! At least there's some Edwardian clothing I can pick up for 99¢ each and a lovely texture set for the Shingi dress.

At least the Mercenary Maid (should have been "Mercenary Maiden") looks more practical and protective than most female fantasy amour.

Of course that name gives me a wicked idea...
