Nice render,
A Daz take on Indiana Jones, cool.
CHEERS!
Looks good.
Could it be the glass material blocking it? It looks pretty dark.
Thanks. I have tried changing the glass material (which is standard as a default) to architectural and then to volumetric,
but it does not help. Instead, any changes made to the glass material, just took away the nice light effect
on the ground, and make the light very dark (dimmed).
Have to experiment more with mesh lights inserted into the lamp. So far does not look any better...
Lux render 1.4 works well with Luxus for Daz Studio.

Just edited material for glasses to Lux glass2 with volume clear
2.14 kS/p
That's fantastic! You'd swear it was a photo. You do wonder if it would look as real if a Daz character was in the scene with it.
CHEERS!
...hmmm that looks vaguely familiar...
Thanks.
Great image, Kyoto Kid.
...thanks.
That's actually and oldie, done a couple years ago a few months after I got my workstation up and running.
You should try turning an object (like maybe a cylinder?) into a light source. The lamp on the right is casting light, but there is no light source being seen inside of it.
Great render Kyoto!
CHEERS!
...thank you
Now this is where I agree that 3DL still has a tonne of mileage left. Couldn't create the same "storybook feel" with a physics based render engine without a lot of post.
Same with this:
That looks really nice too!
CHEERS!
..thanks.
Used vignette effect with the Fog Camera (currently borked since 4.7). This is the "storybook" style I want for Leela's story.
Have something cooking in 3DL but will be about another 2 - 3 hours (currently 3h:43m in @ 47%) as I am using motion blur and an HDR set. Time to turn in (not going to babysit it all night). Forgot that it's like 08:45 where you are.
Sounds intriguing,
I was taking a risk playing with DS this morning as I had a bus to catch at 09:30. I got VERY lucky with March Madness, I bought a lot of stuff yesterday and I was originally going to wait till today. Good job I didn't wait as everything I bought wasn't in the sale today!
All good now though
CHEERS!
...well 13 hrs and 45 min later, still rendering (@ 68% complete). UE with Motion Blur, a fair amount of reflectivity, and hair heavy with transmaps, are a bad combination.
Crikey, even Bryce isn't this slow on my system.
Mmmm, not good,
Well, after studying that Gia promo video, I can replicate Daz promos. It's great that I can do it, but, I actually like what I've been doing with PSK2 better. Still, the others might appreciate my efforts...
CHEERS!
...she looks too "shiny" to me.
Yeah, I think that's down to the PSK2 MAT, I think that works better with the PSK2 lights. Here are renders with the standard MAT.
CHEERS!
...much better. reminded me of loading figures in with the old poser MATs
Yeah, I got better with Wowie's MATs and lights and I do like them. That said, with the promo lights, the following render could be straight out of the store!
CHEERS!
...indeed. Actually looks better than some promos I've seen.
Thanks,
I just made a cool discovery when looking in the Daz Store for Gia's Bikini (The String Bikini for V6), you can get it free with the Day At The Beach bundle!! I didn't see it till I scrolled down to the bottom of the store page! That saved me $17.95 for the bikini and $49.95 for the whole bundle, nice! It isn't in the Freebies bit of the store either, odd!
CHEERS!
..OK 16h 32m and some postwork later (added blur effect to chain & back sprocket, resized to 1,200 x 1,200 and "warmify" the image a bit), finally here is teh tomboy princess Merida, just a wee bit "updated".
Of course for Scotland, made sure she is on the proper side of the road.
...and this was supposed to be a simple fun little work.
Ok, that was worth the wait!
Brilliant render!
CHEERS!
...thank you. Yeah was inspired by a number of "Modern" interpretations of the character I've seen on DA. Wanted to keep it more true to "wild" side. Even made sure the Motorcycle sported the same colours as her faithful horse, Angus.
Glad I did it with the conventional rather than progressive mode as progressive seems to take much longer in 4.8 for some reason.
What render engine was that!? I realised a few moments ago that I had Luxus but had never installed it, oops, LOL! Might give it a whirl someday......
CHEERS!
...good ol' 3DL with Dimension Theory's Yosemite HDR Pro Set which uses UE. The motion blur was most likely the big culprit in the slowness (even though it was only five frames) though rendering in 1,600 x 1,600 resolution didn't help the cause much either.
Uninstalled Reality4 and Lux a while back as there were just too many bugs to deal with.
I see,
Well, that's certainly a good advert for 3DL. Did you actually have Luxus or just Reality, I'm sure I'd heard that Luxus was better. Mmmm, just thinking, I don't think I installed LDP-R on this machine, best check...
CHEERS!
...just Reality, had it since ver, 1.25 (before the advent of Luxus). As I understand Reality had a better materials conversion routine.
Just found this nestling among my content, Dreamlight's Perfect Escape. Possibly one of those freebies he's always emailing about, looks lovely and renders fast.
CHEERS!
Nice renders, Kyoto Kid and Rogerbee.
