Instantly, I love the new figure. So glad for the upgrade. Great job to the artists and engineers who worked on it. It's a joy already!

Not sure which thread about G9 is the "canonical" one, so I'll just post my thoughts here. I'm liking it so far, but there is one weird quirk that seems to have carried over from G8: the left hand fist control goes up to 145%, while right hand fist stops (logically) at 100%. Was there ever a reason for this?

The Victoria 9 Intro Bundle shows up in my product library, but nothing else - no Victoria 9 or any of the other items in the bundle. Also not in DIM.
I still don't see victoria 9 in DIM, is this a bug?
(My first random render of g9f base gave me odd points of color in the face, like a few red or white dots. Headlights, nothing special, dark skin.)
Maybe it's time to add Genesis 9 People instead of
3D Models > People > Genesis 8 People > Genesis 8 Core Figures > Vendor > Genesis 9 Character Essentials
I regret there is no Male/Female Figure filter, it will be difficult to find the male content.
There is a delay with the dowloads and products being added to your accounts. It "should" be handled early am Daz time. Also an issue with the dowloads that are being worked on
What is the point of pre-ordering the Victoria 9 bundle if I can't get anything in return ?
I put my trust in the daz team (poor communications around the bundle) but now i feel like I've been tricked.
I thought I would at least have the privilege of using Victoria 9 before anyone else.
Can the daz teams show a little more love to their supporters...

I don't see a genesis 9 .dmc file for Mimic, I hope there is one coming because the 32bit Lipsync still exists even if they phased out Mimic

I may try creating my own in Notepad eventually but an official one better
it loads in Carrara converted to Blended weight and saved as a character but not the eyeballs, the rest works so that's a plus
if I can get those eyes working I might actually buy into it for that reason alone
When you buy a pig in a poke you expect that the pig might be a runt but you don't expect that the poke will be empty!!! Reminds be of the poor folks who purchased empty Xbox boxes for their kids at Christmas time. No worries though, I expect Daz will straighten it all out eventually. Patience grasshopper!
I do think the Character Essentials fixed the errors I got with eyebrows included in the Genesis 9 Starter Essentials.
No it wont, the missing file errors are bugs in the pathways in some of the eyebrow files that come with the starter essentials, so there will be an update to the starter essentials to fix it.
I think that's just assorted eyebrows and genitalia, no doubt handy
Paid $$$ for the Victoria 9 bundle pre-order and it's nowhere to be found... please fix this. Thank you.
That bundle sure is underwhelming...
1 hair (a very nice hair, but only 1)
3 outfits but none of them useful for day to day casual wear looks. Gotta buy the OOT set if you want that. (The OOT clothes are pretty good though)
1 pose set that is well done (it's Zeddicus after all!) but is fairly specific.
Some makeup which may be useful.
Some expressions which are nice.
No other characters. Not sure on the status of anatomical elements. No casual outfits. No morph packs.
And, of course, I show as having purchased the bundle but none of the items in it show as purchases and I can't download anything. I guess I'll give it a couple of hours and see if it fixes on its own before turning in a ticket.
Sigh. I'm never ordering a Mystery Bundle again. There's almost nothing in the V9 bundle I'd use. I'd say that I probably won't download half of the bundle, but the items aren't in my account so currently that's an empty threat.
Not even close to being comparable, people complaining about being lazy is not the same as people not being able to get their items.
When you mess the same thing up every single time, it's time to stop doing it, since it's obvious you can't / have no clue how to fix it.
Guys, V9 and the Genesis 9 figure are great. Victoria 9 is like Victoria 8.1 on steroids, and do you see how beautiful and natural the arm bend is on just the base figure?!
I hope everyone's downloads and things are worked out soon, because this is a really wonderful update!
Riggswolfe, I belive the anatomical elements -- including eyebrows -- are in the Character Essentials which are available to purchase. I don't use gens, so I can't say much, but I did see that it's in that product when I purchased it.

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue, but I preordered the V9 bundle (the big one) and as of 7:44am Oct 19 2022 I still do not have access to download any of it, not via Daz Central, not the DIM nor manual install.
This is really bad look for Daz3d as a company, they should have been sure to have all the preorder downloads ready to launch BEFORE launching for purchase to the store. If you preordered you should NOT be stuck unable to get the items you paid for with no recourse other than Daz3d slow ticket system.
Honestly there's no guarantee the "get those items free since you bought the bundle" rule would work better....
Yes, a lot of people have this issue.
Eh, they look good but I'm just wondering how well they will hold up when you dial in big characters like the Brute and Swole - which hopefully will make their way to Gen9 as well, seeing that I do use those characters a lot. I mostly do fantasy themed renders as opposed to contemporary and realistic ones (for that I can always step out into the real world...). Gen8 had problems even with big but still realistic bodybuilder type characters. Especially if you were to get, say, a good bicep flex.
I wonder if they managed to resolve the problem with big bellied characters and bends, too. Real bellies just don't behave the way they currently do if you bend character forward... though I guess this would require soft body dynamics rather than just being something you can fix with good bends.
Whatever the reason, the presales bundle content just isn't there. The Starter Essentials got assigned correctly and could be downloaded - they're for free and in the shop now.
Do i understand this right? Those who preordered don't have Victoria 9 HD content but those who buy now have? That would be bugs then.
If just no one has Victoria 9 yet, i'd put that under hiccough, or maybe it's even smart to first iron out bugs of the general package, then start the specialized one. Though with ordinary sales being up, that doesn't appear to be the strategy at all...
Yeah, those are really great examples of specific cases that have been a problem in the past. I'm hoping since the bends are really well done out of the box for this generation that it means they function better in general. Definitely look forward to seeing how they work with more unusual characters and body types. I hope you will test it and let us know soon, either with something custom or once some of the bigger characters (as you said -- hopefully) do make their way to Gen9.
It's not a good look either way.
1) if it is Just those that pre ordered that don't have access to down load thier content that likely means some one fd up when setting up the release which is horrible as (imho) they should have made sure preorder people were set to go BEFORE launch.
Also I have noticed that on the Daz3d store the individual items that are part of the bundle shill show as being buyable rather than what usually happens when you buy a bundle and they get marked as purchased.
If this is the case I am likely to never pre-order anything from Daz again even though I am a huge sucker for preorder exclusives.
2) If it is a store/ site wide issue and NO ONE can download anything Victora 9 then they probably should not have put it up on the store or have taken it down until they can fix the issue.
Preorders do not seem to have been allocated yet but buying now will give you access to the files. I guess it's a manual process, or button press, that needs to happen DAZ side to add the items to our available items/DIM. Waiting patiently for that to happen.
If you shop here and don't expect things like this and get worked up about it you are going to shave years off your life with stress.
You also got yellow banners with extra discounts in the last sale, at least I did :)
