    EDIT: Voss Hair isn't in my DIM either, and I preordered the bundle.

    Well I bought the V9 Intro Bundle for $78 & change and I think it's over priced for the amount of content or lacking in content. Either way you phrase it but it's close enough that I bought it this morning knowing eventhing that's in it.

    I'm surprised the broke out a new type of bundle that contains eyebrows and anatomical elements as a "Character Essentials" bundle but am wishing all those eyebrows had been in the $78 Intro Bundle. I guess I'll buy that bundle sometime in the next month. I think ultimately that will get DAZ 3D a lot more sales doing it like that. If not, I'm sure they will go back to the old way in G10.

    I'm positively surprised how well hair and beard items convert from Genesis 8 to Genesis 9 (at least the ones I tested). These are done through autofit except for the brows which are from anatomical elements. Previously you would always get a lot of stretching when posing head. Not so with Gen9. Btw for those who are getting the anatomical elements. They don't come with genital mats and neither do the base skins - at least as far as I can tell.

    Anyhow. There might be stretching with larger characters but no way to test it now.

    I've been messing around with custom morphs in ZBrush and the figure is much easier to work with than G8 for me. I haven't tried making a bigger character yet, but this is Victoria 9 with ZBrush morphs and I gave her a significantly bigger waistline and a bigger belly. There was a little bit of the usual folding when a character doesn't have a corrective morph for unusual shapes, but it was much easier to smooth out.

    I agree! I swear the Nick hair I rendered with earlier fits the G9 figure better than I remember it fitting G8. Ha

    Acutally, the shape looks really natural. I have a feeling -- just from the introduction we've had so far -- that our figures in this generation will look more natural overall -- better proportions, better bending and flexing, less exaggerated features (e.g. breast size). I'm really excited for this!

    There is an autofit clone in the figure, but it's hidden. The autofit mechanism uses it (search for Genesis 8 Male and Female, with "show hidden properies" enabled in the Parameters Tab).

    I've heard that a 3rd party vendor is working on both skin and shape converters, but it's likely not going to be released for several months. Likewise, there are two pose converters I've tried that can use G8 poses and apply them on G9. I have no details on the release dates. I doubt these will work both ways, usually converters are designed to use older content on the newer figure.

    And yes, there will be Head and Body Shapes product available very soon, as well as an Expressions product I believe, those will add the sliders I've shown you in the streams (and they won't cost the price of a car).

    Check some of the makeup sets, they will - I think - include masks that you could repurpose to modify the materials directrly of through Layered Image Editor. The idea, I believe, is to allow a more natural blend with the surrounding skin than the hard division of a surface group.

    Actually, this is good to know. I just came back and have invested a lot in G8.

    I don't have any very long hairs to be honest but it seems this is not so good with longer than neck length and longer hairs. For example Odin hair and the Viking Hair (the one with braid) follow the bones (or is it joints?), meaning that the parts that extend down beyond the neck level don't move when the neck moves and the neck part doesn't move when chest area moves etc. Also you get really weird bends. You would need to parent rather than autofit those to the figure. This probably happens with all hairs that run downwards. Not necessarily so much the ones that are high (i.e. the mohawk) and not with beards. Beards seem to function better even if they are of the long type. I.e. Volta beard and even the Wizard beard work very well.

    The Store says I own the Bundle, but none of the constituent parts. V9, the HD makeup, the clothes... all of these pieces of the Bundle are shown as available for purchase even though I preordered the Bundle.

    So, I own a basket of goods, but not the goods themselves, I suppose.

    EDIT: Also, none of the Bundle pre-orderer freebies shows up as "owned". I only own the "Bundle" sku, but nothing under that sku shows up as owned.

    BTW, just thought I'd add I'm not thrilled with the outfit in the bundle. I have less than zero use for a dominatrix outfit. indecision

    Well, Genesis 9 will need some work in order to get used to her. Not all excited, but not bad either.
    One thing is a win - clearly a win. Her default expressions are great, this time. 

    Expressions have always been a mess with all DAZ figures, but this time they've managed to make them look convincing. The rest, I will be able to manage over time.

    I am more in the market for High Fantasy and sci-fi over contemporary. I personally would like to see the male side developed too. I am not a fan of barely there armor and outfits.

    So I need to purchase makeup to alter the lip glossyness? It should be standard included in every charater. I hope you made a joke otherwise I refund V9 items I purchased today and never gonna buy any V9 stuff again.

    Me also....i pre-ordered the basic package and have neither the model or the voss hair.

    i'm disappointed but not surprised... in my experience Daz has often been a frustrating mix of arrogance and incompetence!
