It'd be really nice if there was a (Cinema4D) plugin or script  to automatically put PSR Constraints onto a figure that has matching joint names.

Are you doing all this instead of the Bind command?

Its when loading files brought in from the Bridge,   so they already have - usually anyway - a bound joint system.  Though with how messy joints are when coming from the Daz Bridges  I guess there wouldn't be much lost from starting the rig/weighting from scratch huh?  How much worse could it be.

Well, there's also a few Unity imports as well,  animations often come in as separate files - joints but no mesh.

Other complaint,  was once again reminded I somehow never acquired Digi-I's  Wingless Wyrm before it was pulled from the store.  Much sads since it looks like a cutie.

As I've said before, my dream scenario is basically for DS to become a plugin for other programs. Imagine having your entire content library available in C4D, being able to easily outfit and accessorize your character, even use PowerPose.

I feel like the userbase for the programs - maybe Blender aside - is too small for DAZ to really care enough to properly maintain the bridges. It'd be great if they worked as promised, but I just can't see that ever happening. But it would be amazing though,  buy the content, and be able to use the content in the program you want.

I want to organize my content library better, but I keep getting distracted.  Ooh it is after 9 pm.

    ...complaint.

Well after 15 years looks like the end of the line for Daz and me has come quicker than I thought as the latest beta release of 4.21 requires a driver that no longer supports Windows7 for Iray GPU rendering (not about to go back to glacial CPU rendering again).  Originally I thought I'd still have some time until the release of Daz 5 which will be built on the Qt6 cross-platform framework (Qt6 no longer supports older OS versions).  As I mentioned in another thread. I didn't think it would happen this quickly, but all the same, it doesn't surprise me.

There are those like myself who still consider W7 to be the best most trouble free OS Microsoft ever released. For me it's been rock stable for well over a decade. with barely so much as a BSOD (and then usually caused by a buggy driver or security update which Is why I switched to manual updating).  The thought of allowing a company such as Microsoft to meddle with my system when it pleases to without my permission unnerves me. It makes me feel the computer on my  desk is more theirs than mine. and if one of their updates bricks it, I eat the cost, not them.

W11 looked like it would be an improvement over 10 until I started reading more about it. I don't need some sort of "experience".  Being along time adherent of the "K.I.S.S. principle", I just need an OS that does the basic job it is supposed to, which is to support running the software I work with.

For now I'll just keep working with the current 4.21 general release, as the drivers I have still work fine for rendering.

thanks for the heads up, my Win7 currently without a card will get my 980Ti put back in when I can afford it so while it has 4.11 as the release build I best stick to that beta too on that machine

I have a confession to make. It was me. I did it. Me.

And I'm not sorry. I'll probably do it again. Yeah. Or not. I dunno.

Non-complaint:  Moody Blues.heart  One of the very few rock groups from the 60s & 70s that I actually heard live when they were at their peak.yes  Also, one of the only groups who enunciated well enough for me to understand the words and one of only two groups who's lyrics resonated with my brain (Simon & Garfunkel were the other).  I had no interest in the tales of misery and spousal infidelity expounded upon by Country Western Music, nor the nuvo-adolescent mush from the pre-Beatles era.  Nor the hard rock that came after.   The Moody Blues were my introduction to the bigger picture; philosophy, spirituality, and cosmology illuminated by beautiful music.  And they also have a few just simply happy songs too, as in the song below

From one of their early albums.  "Nice To Be Here" from "Every Good Boy Deserves Favor".

Unfortunately, their earlier songs ("Be Now") and later albums wandered too far into the adolescent mush or rhythmic noise & mental fodder arena.  So, I keep going back to the "great 8" especially the ones that included the Mellotron instrument that helped give them the big orchestral sound. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mellotron

The great eight early Moody Blues albums:  (and to be honest, number eight ain't that great)indecision

    1) "Days Of Future Passed"

    2) "In Search Of The Lost Chord"

    3) "On The Threshold Of A Dream"

    4) "To Our Children's Children's Children"

    5) "A Question Of Balance"

    6) "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour"

    7) "Seventh Sojourn"

    8) "Octave"

But here's a song from one of my rare, favorite Moody's sub-group albums titled  "Blue Jays" put out by two Moody's members in 1975, i.e. Justin Hayword and John Lodge (the two "J"s from the Moody Blues, get it?blush).  Listen to "NIghts, Winters, Years". (very orchestral)smiley

It's nice to see that this thread is a wacky (in a good way) as ever.

The Tabby Terror is in for his "snip" tomorrow, so he has to be "starved" tonight. This is going to be tough, as he is mad about his food.

*Sigh* What a rough couple of weeks, and it's not going to get any easier.

We're not feeling Christmassy either. Although he wants to put more decorations up, my father keeps threatening to take the tree down.

Non-complaint:  I've decided what to get myself for Christmas.  I was forced to get a new phone for my birthday last month.  So, that shot any discretionary cash I had left over for the year, but while perusing my Amazon wishlist I found the perfect self Christmas gift that I could enjoy once every month of the new year, and write it off as grocery expenses.enlightened  A case(12 cans) of Del-Monte asparagus spears.   Mmmm...  mushy 'sparagus...  expensive, but I'm worth it.devil  Yeah, yeah, I know.  Fresh crispy asparagus is better for you but I've survived three-quarters of a century eating the canned mushy type.  Mmmm... mushy 'sparagus.heart

'Nother non-complaint:  Cookies!  I've been busy baking chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.  My mother's recipe.heart  I baked a batch a couple weeks ago to take to a Thanksgiving dinner gathering.  The recipe makes about three-and-a-half dozen.  I gave away a dozen-and-a-half and proceeded to eat the other two dozen at home in about 48 hours.blush (*Hi, my name is LeatherGryphon and I have a cookie problem*).  Then I was invited to a Yule holiday dinner last weekend, so I made another batch and gave away another dozen-and-a-half, and before noon the next day I'd eaten almost half of the two dozen left.  But I flogged myself for punishment and then made two freezer zip-lock bags of 8 cookies each and have them in the freezer.  They might last until Christmas.indecision

Complaint:  My cookie binging and holiday dinners has played havoc with my weight loss program.sad  I'm up 10 pounds but I'm on the way back down.yes

Chrome 109 is the last version of Chrome that will support Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.

it's letting me know I won't be getting future updates everytime I open my browser, I mostly only watch YouTube on this computer but that's Google too

Apparently I have to cancel my doctor appointment and Christmas unless my room is perfect.  I can clean my room but not without all this pressure.  Also I don't know what my room would look like if it was perfect.  I feel like my life value is based on how clean my room right now.  I can't do anything right now than go to the program, clean my room, hygiene stuff, and take my medication.  Oh I also have to eat so I can take my medicine,

Same here... (but not YouTube, I model on that computer)... I've decided to buy a new computer rather than upgrade to Windows 10/11, because I have too much old software that I wouldn't be able to use on the newer OS.
I kinda blows because I was already having a stressful day when I noticed that message... But I've figured that was coming eventually.

I'm more pissed about Hulu not working on my three year old "smart" TV anymore... two or three weeks ago I went to watch something and I see a message that the app won't work on my TV anymore... I don't get it that most smart TVs don't seem to be able to do much with the software... it's basically built in and you don't really have much access to it other than to activate it or watch it.

Luckily we have Apple TV for that TV, but I hate the interface and the damn stupid, stupid, stupid remote control... who the everlivingf**k needs a touchscreen pad on a remote?... I get that the idea is you can carefully rewind or fast forward, or maybe swish around the streaming service screen to pick what you want, but it's idiotically frustrating... it only really works well if you can swipe perfectly straight and rewinding is like trying to do neurosurgery while drunk... they just had to be Apple fancy and not use a normal D-pad...

But luckily again, the D-pad on the TV remote actually can control the Apple TV cursor... (and apparently the new ultrasonic humidifier)... just like the remote for the sound bar turns on the tower fan and the Dining room AC remote turns on the guest bedroom heater if you turn on economy mode... granted the heater is not a problem because they are in different rooms far apart and I found that out only by accident.

I suspect that's going to get weirder as more things have remote controls or use IOS (Internet Of S**t) WiFi apps... right now it's a dealbreaker if something has a WiFi phone app... especially stupid things like coffee machines... the hell do you need that?
So after a year or two they can brick your coffee machine because it's too old for their crappy data mining software upgrades?... I'd understand if it refilled itself, dumped the old grinds, mixed in the right amount of cream and sugar and then brought you the mug... but nope, it just makes "perfect coffee", which is just coffee... a couple of people I know have machines like that and it's just coffee... they taste magical things in the WiFi flavors imbued by the connection to the internet, but it's still just coffee and at best it's the brand of coffee that makes the difference...

eh... I'm going off on tangents now... I was heading in the direction of gourmet coffee shops and coffee cold brew stills...

But yeah... the Chrome thing sucks.

@kyotokid -  Personal experience with Windows 10 has been about 85% positive here,  using it since almost after it came out. Other than the initial few months its never been much of a problem and Microsoft's never once taken control of my system or did things w/o permission,  and  my laptop's gone months without an update.  Its sitting there with the notification telling me there's one, but unlike on launch day I can postpone it indefinitely.  Yes, 'back in the day'  updates were mandatory, but that's history (I was still on 7 at the time so 'technically' never did anything w/o permission)

Desktop I've been letting it do the updates and despite what the Horror Stories claim its never forced a system restart in the middle of me working on something. Only ever had a problem directly related to a system update once and it wasn't a system bricking either,  and truth be told almost any company can put out a troublesome update on accident  -  MAXON's  first R26 update had half of the interface missing because the GUI files weren't fully uploaded to the build or something,  Paradox recently had their Launcher deliver false positives on mods being corrupted...

I've not moved on to 11 yet myself mostly because a few programs I use frequently have some 'issues' with it right now, or visa-versa. That's just me though,  and I know what works for me obviously may not work for others and personally, I have everything I need right now so I've not seen the point of investigating other OS's. My acquaintances sometimes tell me a Macintosh would suit me better because of my working with graphics so often,  but I'm comfortable where I am  and I guess that's the important thing:  Do what's most comfortable for you, not what others say is best.

Didn't mean to ramble there but that's all I'm really going to say though since I've learned from experience that people can get quite "passionate" about their opinions and preferences regarding these things,  and I've historically not fared well in debates of any kind...

On a new unrelated topic;   I don't like the Search Tool in D|S.   Do a search for "Eagle"  and  'no products found!'   "Deep"   'no products found!',   "Deepsea"  'no products found!"   then just manually digging into the product tree and there's  Deepsea's Eagle.  According to D|S's search function, no such product exists. Oh, and I also have the DAZ Eagle 2.0,  but as far as the search tool is concerned there's no products with the word 'Eagle'  in them. Also Deep Sea Creatures, but there's no "Deep" text in anything I have either apparently! Get that with things too often for my tastes,  where its sometimes either overly sensitive with the search paramaters or is utterly blind.

Well there's another albeit minor complaint,  ran a cleaning scan and I *swear* I had  the Cookies/Preferences  option unchecked,  but I find I've been logged out of the websites I had open (Minus the DAZ forums funnily enough) and "This site uses cookies please confirm"  messages had to be dimissed again

Second minor complaint:  Octane's  KitBash3D coupons have been changed to Quarterly instead of Monthly!
