We should celebrate our pores!!  Just like moles and, once you reach a certain age, the hairs that suddenly pop up in strange places.  To me, if it's not some arty-farty shot, skin really does need to look a little bit real.

@nonesuch00  - the hair is actually "Jonas" that came with Leo7 and it's Oh My Brows, over the Lucius skin brows.  Both hair and brows use redspec hair shaders for Octane.

@knittingmommy - there's a fair bit of postwork in this image, using NIK tools.  Oddly enough, to get the pores to look decently real wink

Some people want glamor shot style smooth skin. Some people want gritty realistic shot of imperfect people. The nice thing about pore texture is ... you can change the number.

Well, lets be honest - no one wants unflattering portraits of them made and trying to take bad ones really doesn't make one a realist does it? That pore capability does come in handy I suppose if you are doing an animation of some Finns going from the outdoor snow of winter into a sauna.

I agree. I'm after as much realism as possible, not glamor shots or publicty portraits.

I've posted images of humans in the forum, and it isn't a problem. Mostly in suggestions for hairstyles.

Nooo. In total denial about pores. If you don't mind I will leave the celebration of pores to others... And prefer to live in poreless bliss.... wink

Although moles and bodyhair can be fun.

My art generally juxtaposes realism with the fantastic. Wanting hairless airbrushed starlets at all times reminds me of a guy I met who only listened to electronic dance music. There's this universe out there and to be focused on one rock just seems... unfortunate to me.

I think the thread is getting derailed with skin talk. Let's Bring on the hunks-!

I can't think of anything arty enough...whether smooth and silky or bumpy and lumpy. I need to try out all they carnival stuff I bough or maybe one of these Greenhouse I bought. I should try to get an arty effect through a foggy greenhouse window at dawn. That'd be interesting.

Hey, guys, kind of dorky of me, but I'm sharing my latest male render.  Done in Iray in Linux!  I finally got DS working in Linux.  I have practically nothing installed for it yet.  I basically just installed a minimal amount of product to test it out.  It is my first time rendering Ipo, too, from the Kimo 7 bundle.  I'm using a sunset HDRI so it is a little redder than I would normally use, but it isn't totally horrendous either.  :)  I do miss having all of my light sets installed.  I'll have to work on that!

This is a beautiful image! But that curved horison line gives an impression of the sea rising up to swallow him =) If that's intentional, I apologise, but if you just didn't notice, maybe there is a way to level it and make it a straight line. Probably something about dome type and radius in the render settings.

    Bedroom Series 1

Forewarning, naked male buttock on display.

Isn't it ridiculous the level of sluttery and violence that is allowed, but a single, naked buttock is not?

Well, actually looking at that I don't think the buttock is actually on display but maybe you have more experience than I with DAZ censors.

Anyway, that render's nicely done but you need put it in a modeled room, unless you have a crud computer like mine where that would crash DAZ on you.

Yeah. It's very illegal for me to slice someone's head off, it's legal for me to have sex with my wife. One I can openly show in a render, another I cannot.

Another contribution from me for this thread.

I seldom make close up portraits, most textures don't have enough details to make a credible pic.
IMO this picture is not finished, but I already spent way too much time on it. I have been working on this image for a few months now, but I am still not satisfied.
I wish I could find better eyes, and better nails, and better lashes, and...

Texture is tweaked and is Tye 2 from Jepe on Genesis 2 male with my own morphs.

Well I stopped reading or watching news and watching TV except basically old comedies and old sanitized fairy tales. My contributions to the betterment of society will have to be my own behaviour (trying to improve non-competitively), crash courses in candidates on the day before the election, and a small donation to HSUS.org & HSI.org every month.

No, it was staged very deliberately. As the artist, I say it is complete the way it stands.

Oh, OK. I thought maybe you have a weak PC like I do although I have yet to try anything complex since upgrading my laptop to 16GB. May as well try today.

Yeah, I noticed.  That's the Multiplane Cyclorama thing and it's built that way.  Since I had only loaded in the small amount of props I needed just for the test picture, I chose that instead of a proper skydome which would have been my normal choice.  Still, not bad for a test shot.  I'm just happy the Iray was working in Linux.

Nice. I like the posing and his skin texture looks good with that lighting.

Nice to see so many male images again!

This one started with Brayden and then I used the randomizer on him.

That's interesting, because I submitted an image to deviantArt which had a similar black background and it was rejected by a group because apparently they required a background (presumably modelled). But to add one would have spoiled the effect I was looking for (I actually tried it). I guess I understand what the group was trying to avoid, but in fact the render had an environment, but that environment happened to be black. So I absolutely agree with your last statement there.

As for TOS, as in many forums, one can never be sure because it will depend on the judgment of the moderator that happens to deal with it, but if you look at the old "Men, men, men" thread there were quite a number of submissions (including one of my own) that were accepted that were a lot more "explicit" (i.e. in terms of men's bums) that the one you just discreetely posted.

    1. Images may not show genitals, or the bare groin or buttocks, of humanoid figures. Images of female humanoids may not show the breasts.

I guess that is plural...and I was only showing one buttock...

How do you get from Studio to Blender? I tried some scripts, but it massively failed... and I didn't go hunting down why.

    oh, and awesome, as usual.

No scripts used.  Just regular export and then assigning all the materials to the correct regions.
