Thanks.  I like him, too.  I think I'll be doing a lot of renders featuring him.

Originally, Bruno was walking away from the camera.  Then, when I dressed him, I realised his loincloth (freebie from Iceboy at Rendo) doesn't have a back...

He looks great!  Ah, no back?  Sounds, uh, yummy?  I'm sorry I can't see that! ;)  I may have to track down that freebie.

He looks good. I like him. I haven't used that hair much but it looks great on him. I'm quite partial to nice curls. ????

    What hair is that?

  • KnittingmommyKnittingmommy Posts: 8,191

It looks like Jonas hair for G3M.  I have it, but I don't think I've used it yet.  It was in the Leo 7 Bundle.

Hmm. I don't use Genesis 3, but I really like the look, might be worth using without fitting...

Yep, Jonas hair.  I've found it doesn't suit most characters, though.

@knittingmommy - iceboy stuff is mostly M4 and Ive had a few issues getting it to work.  It didn't load properly into my content library, so I had to hunt them down in file manager.  Arm and wrist bands are cr2 files that I had to drag onto the character.  The "laincloth" is his obj and converted to dynamic.

Oops, forgot to say thankyou smiley

I think one of the reasons that I haven't used the hair is that I haven't found a character it would be a good fit on yet.  I like the hair, but, yeah, it needs to be on the right kind of character to look good.  Bruno works.  :)

M4 I can handle, no worries.  Yeah, sometimes they are a bear to get working right, but look great when you get it, especially those cr2 files.  I can do .obj and convert to dynamic, no problems there.  I'll see if I can get it working once I download it.

    You're welcome!

I liked him a lot fully dressed, but seeing him half naked like this - wow! heheh I really like this character, he's great! Your French actor is my favorite, but this guy comes in close second! :D Awesome work, Butch!

Very nice lighting! Love the DOF here and the over-all warm colors. And his non-standard shape. wink

Here's my recent render. A bit gloomy, but I hope you guys don't mind, I tend to get gloomy sometimes. Used Darwin Mishap's Toruun.

I'm not a fan of demon type stuff but the environment and lighting are really great. The half submerged ruins and the lighting coming through the columns are gorgeous!

I personally adore gloom- and this is fantastic. Thank you for using him in this. :)

ROFL! I'm so glad I wasn't drinking anything when I clicked on that - I think if I had it would have ended up all over my monitor. lol The expression on his face really seals the deal. It looks like he lost a bet and is none to happy about it. lol

    Well hey there sailor. lol

Nice work, Serene! What enviornment is that? I really like the wood and the nautical props.

    Hi: Glad you like it.

It is basically kitbash. I looked in my runtime and the only nautifcal thing I had was the pier from Disconsolation. but the metal railing really didn't strike me as being too pier like. So I used the wooden floor from Country dining room as the wall. The rope is from western bric-a-brac and the buoy is from the Disconsolation set.

I wanted a rope to go over the shoulder in a coil, but couldn't find a prop like that. The only other ropes I had were the ones from All tied up.

Sweet! Nice kitbash! It looks like they all come from one set. And I never would have guessed that the wood wall was actually a floor! That's cool!

Nice thinking outside the box - I really need to learn to kitbash more. I've done it with outfits but not sets. In your case, it was definitely a success!

Love this- great expression and pose as well as the lighting.  Nicely done on the kitbashing- always my favorite thing to do.  You can certainly get some diverse set-ups doing that. Great work.

Thank you, divamakeup, the lighting is actually standard Iray Sun-Sky settings, the usual 18:00. But in combination with water and right angles it gives very nice long shadows.

Thank you Darwin, I really love your Toruun, he's the perfect gothic/demon/horror character and I love his many make-up options. Looking forward to see what you'll come up with next.

Finally, have something to share.  I was making the first render and decided I didn't like his plain shirt.  I thought he needed a little something more so I did a render of Stan to put on the shirt with L.I.E. and rendered it again.  I played around with the NIK Collection filters in post, too.  I like how it turned out.  And, since I couldn't just leave Stan only on the shirt, he got done up right with his own unique background for his own spot in my gallery.

Stan, also, got a little touch of post with the NIK Collection.  As for the background, I'm have learned so many techniques in GIMP while creating backgrounds.  This background and a few others will be up in the Free Backgrounds thread by tomorrow.  I'm still working on a couple in my new batch of freebies.

Very nice, Cathy. The "black and white" is very striking. Stan turned out "pretty good," too. wink (I've yet to get anything so creative out of the NIK collection...)

Thanks.  I was just goofing around, but I really like how it turned out.  I even like it better than the original.  If anyone is interested in the others, the original and other experiments with NIK and GIMP are posted in my Laboratory thread.  Just clicking the link in my signature to go there.

I like your black and white, @knittingmommy.

I didn't the clowns. They looked quite frightful. Like something I would have nightmares about.

I didn't buy Ivan either, as I thought he was big and ugly. Reminds me of the hollywood version of a KGB agent. Although he could be useful as a character actor in some scenes. Didn't think I would use him much But then I bought a new release and didn't realize that Ivan was required. So I guess I'll pick him up when he is on sale. I can't see paying full price for him, because I still think he is ugly. Although I admit that some of you have created some nice pictures of him.

So is Stan a figure that you can buy? I don't remember him.

  • Kev914Kev914 Posts: 1,115

Oh, I see Stan is the clown. Then who is the guy in the black and white?

Stan is a character by MortemVetus.  As such, he's been part of the really good deals with RDNA sales.  As for the guy in the black and white?  Well, you won't find him anywhere.  He's mine.  I created him based off of Leo 7 figure and his name is Cole.  Not that you can tell from the image, but I've also made some changes to the Leo 7 skin that he is using, too.  I made him way back when Leo 7 first came out and used him twice in the It's Raining Men contest that started from the whole there's not enough male content stuff.  Personally, I think he is one of the best things that came out of all of that for me.  His hair and beard changes slightly from one image to the other that I do with him, but the basic morphs that I used to create him have stayed the same.

I went back to the beginning of the thread and it doesn't look like I ever posted an image of him in this thread before, probably because the contest was still so new and a lot of people had already seen him.  So, I'm posting him here now.  This was the first image I made with my guy, Cole, in that little contest that was all about the guys.  Gee, I really hope they have that contest again.  It was a blast seeing so many male renders all in one place.  If anyone missed seeing any of the pictures in the contest, L'Adair has links on the first page of this thread.

Cole in all his glory.  He was in the Re-purposed Category.  Those shorts are from Willow for Genesis 2 Female and, yes, they did fit with a little maneuvering help from d-formers.  They might fit even better now that there is a Fit Control for G3M, but I didn't have that back then.
