    Enjoying my new art shaders.

(WT Outline, and then Smudge Stick filter in Photoshop)

    Awesome =)

Do you think MDL can be pushed towards a "brush-generated" look, similar to what Carrara NPR mode does?

I suspect not, but I'm not sure. You can posterize and otherwise manipulate color values, but anything that requires processing batches of surface might be impossible.

I might poke at it, depends.

(I'll be more inclined to experiment if anyone donates. So far I've been driven entirely by my own whim, because almost nobody donates. Which is to be expected, I suppose)

I wasn't even aware you were looking for donations. ;-)

It says it in the sharecg page, but apparently everyone skips over the text. Heh.

Well it's true, I don't notice those Donate most of the time. You could create an image that points where to donate if they want to with your other illustration images.

I haven't done a suitably odd image for a while.  Also, it's way past lunchtime and I haven't eaten yet.

Funny butch! Posing characters with food is tough. =-)

  • ButchButch Posts: 798

That is so true, Serene.  This is the third banana - the others just wouldn't pay attention or listen to direction.  As for apples... I'm sure they're all on drugs.

I like the little pull on the material where the bits bulge is... makes a nice central point to wonder what's going on there!  What can I say, I have a dirty mind!  lmao cheeky

I must, too, because I love that little bit.  It really draws the eyes in.  :)

    Fantastic image!

I think I am finally over my fear of men!  While it was fun hosting the contest for the It's Raining Men Again, I have to admit I had a few moments of "What did I get myself into?!" thinking.  I ended the contest on testosterone overload and didn't even want to look at another male render!  I'm happy to say that I'm currently working on a male render so I think I'm over that.  I'll post when I get the kinks all worked out.

I have started looking at this thread again with anticipation. :)

  • First guy render from me in awhile.  Hope you like him. Rendered in 3Delight.

Post this great image over in the jeans thread and tell us what you used, please.

  • My latest guy.  I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.  I was trying out the new BOSS Lights.  Rendered in Iray.

Yes, the posing makes it look so real and natural real. You can easily believe it is a photograph of three friends that has be Photoshoped with a bit of a digital art type filter. I really had to look twice when Laurie first posted this. This is a real winner. I'd love to see more of her work.

Thought I'd spam my newest render here too ;) Espectially since this thread is all the way back on the 3rd page!

He's positively rugged by my standards ;) (which is to say not really rugged at all, but not compised entirely of twigs)

I'm probably goint to be sticking this hair on a bunch of characters, Garibaldi is pretty fantastic at short hair (and its a lot more integrated than blender). I'm also pretty proud of the posing on this one, I like having hands not just floating, but find posing hands very fiddly, but actually spent time to get both interacting vaguely naturalistically.

Also I going to add to the praise of AllenArts image, the posing is great, but also, what really gets me, the buildings in the backdrop, look straight up photolike, At first I just assumed it was a backplate that you matched up really well (I know thats a fairly odd thing to focus on, but it seriously impressed me)

Really like the shower scene. I just tried to do one yesterdy, and the water and the fact that the shower handles did not actually twist totally frustrated me. Hard to take a shower if the thing doesn't turn on. I liked how you handled the water, and the nudity with steam.

  • Very nice renders, everyone.

Newest one-just Michael 7 here. Tried to get that still out of a movie look to it with minor post.  Most of the magic came with the lighting in Studio.  Just missed some contrast and grain and viola.
