So that painted in long hair is some of the best I've seen in DAZ. How did you do that?

Thanks for the compliment, nonesuch00. I took the first image into Corel Painter, added a layer and then painted in the extensions as well as painting over the top some too. There are tutorials for painting hair on youtube.  I watched a lot of youtube videos for Photoshop, Painter, blender and other things. Basically you lay down a base color somewhat darker than what you want the final hair color to be. And then you paint in the stands in layers (not Photoshop layers but you could use them) but hair layers. Then you back and forth with the colors and add highlights too.

You did a great job!  I haven't even attempted that yet.  :)  I love seeing folks learn new skills! :)

That looks great @Nemesis10!  If you don't mind, can you adjust the size of your image to a width of 800 px to fit forum guidelines?  Thanks!

I love that expression you managed!  Nice work.  :)

edit: forgot the little "@" symbol!

    Done!

    Thanks! :)

    Thanks, nonesuch00 and knittingmommy!

BTW, if you ever want to try painting hair, you will want to have a wacom tablet.

KevinH your hair looks really good. I think blurring the back of his hairline slightly will give the hair even more realism.

DarwinsMishap let me test out his new character, Diesel, (well, part of his new character - since it requires Elijah 7 to really look like Diesel). I don't have Elijah 7, so this isn't REALLY want the character should look like. But I do like him anyway - even without the Elijah 7 morph. The tattoo and makeup options are great and I REALLY like the skin texture!!

Here are a few renders of him (without the Elijah 7 morph):

I really like this character - I think he's gorgeous! And I know he'll look even better once I get Elijah 7. :)

Those are all great renders of a good character

I think the first one is my favorite, but you know me, I love vibrant color. The second one though with the tattoo is very compelling though as I love the design of that.

Darwinsmishap did a wonderful job on the character. I love how the dragon tattoo just kind of trails down his body a bit - leading your eye down. Whew. *fans self* hahah

Yeah, I know you and colorful art! :) I agree, that's usually the type of art I'm drawn to as well. I really enjoy vibrant colors, I just have trouble getting that look in my renders. I wish I could get my renders to look more like yours. Like your Night Flight image and your War Dog image - those are two of my favorites. Do you have a tutorial out or, if not, could you recommend a tutorial on how to get that look?

I love the artsy one the best.  Nice effect.

I made a tutorial for the wardog image here. It has no pictures since I have no access to my rendering machine at work. A lot of my art uses a variation of this technique

they were having a debate about photorealism in DAZ in another thread...that render is too my eyes pretty darn close...

  • Serene, I'm not sure Boyd would want to drink that.  He should totally go for the rum!

@Sithlordsims  Very nice!  Really well done! :)

I do like this one a great deal, thank you for testing him out for me!  Well done. :)

  • Here is Diesel with the morph.

Owen's got his boots on before his pant for some reason. Maybe he went to sleep that way? IDK. This was a pose request for a boot removal pose.

yes, I will share it. I want to package the helmet removal pose too but it is sort of specific to the suit in question, so IDK if people will find that useful. =-)

LOL, why are there rabbit ear antennas between that robot's legs?

Are those pistons? At any rate the robot is nice enough to help him locate his pants. Likely that is Boyd though . Boyd does not get another physical body for a while. He was born with a health condition that rapidly deteriorated so he was tanked.

    LOL!

Nice images everyone.  That armor looks good on the males.  @FirstBastion did one while we were testing that armor so I new knew it worked.  It's nice to see others putting the armor on the guys.  Not something I've done yet.

    Nice posing, SN.  :)
