  • LY Pro HDRI Lighting (I got lazy and stopped it at 50%, though-doesn't do the lighting justice.)

One more example, and time to work again-when it's rendered I'll post it.

  • Looking really good!  Maybe silvery grey or very pale blue eyes to contrast with his darker skin tone...And of course a very dark brown which one would expect from his heritage...Sorry, I have thing for eyes lol.

  • lol- eyes are my thing too.  His base eyes are a very dark brown as shown in the close up.  I need to do a few others to add to the collection. Thinking Blue, Green, Gray, and a light Brown.

  • Last lighting example: Cake and Bob's Old Gate HDRI with DOF.  It's stopped at 80% because I'm impatient.

  • still tweaking- two scars, rendering the exit wound scar from the bullet wound scar on his stomach now

  • Amped up the stomach scarring more.  WIll do the back render a little later.  :P  Different lighting this time too

  • some eye colors:

  • Last of the Sicilian Spam unti I get more done: Brow version 2

Just using the Promo Light Rig here- no HDRI.  I love how his skin reacts to the different lighting rigs already.

  • ........one more when it's done- forgot to show the bullet exit wound scar on his back. XD THEN no more for a while.

  • it's at 20% converged-gut you get the idear

I was wondering if maybe that was an oddly linear scar for a bullet exit wound, and out of curiosity, I made the mistake of looking at Google Images to see if I was mistaken about that. The answer appears to be equal parts "it depends" and "NEVER EVER DO THAT AGAIN OH MY GAWD!"  Because they don't -- and can't, depending on search terms -- distinguish between old scars, fresh scars, fresh wounds, and "oh, look, an exploded body part on a very very very recently shot (and dead) person!"

If it's the exit wound for the scar in front, he's incredibly lucky to be alive! It ripped right through his intestines! (Well, one side of them.)

Oh, keep the Sicilian spam coming! Mmm mmm! Fine like wine! devil

And yes, researching bullet wounds is nasty business. In my first Black Kat book, my energy shifter gets shot and has to operate on himself using his telekinetic powers. This was an interesting scene to research and write. I had to read a lot of disgusting stuff about the havoc bullets cause to the body, what they go through, what stops them, etc. Wow. There was this period of my life when I was young and wanted to be a nurse. I think that lasted two seconds. I like helping people but would rather avoid the leaking of various fluids. (Kids are scary enough in that department! LOL) I'll stick to writing and rendering!

Yep, I've made to mistake of googling certain things and wished I never had!  Welcome to the club.  :)  It is amazing some of the injuries the human body can recover from.

@DarwinsMishap  I like Sicilian spam!  Nice scars.  :)

LOL- I would be in deep trouble if this PC was ever confiscated for the research search engines I have, and photos I've saved for references.  I've probably spent about 9 hours going through gunshot wounds, gunshot scars, knife scars, types of bladed weapons and the wounds they make, chemical scarring, etc.

It is the exit wound, yes, for the circular entry wound.  I went with a minor depression rather than the deeper hole that some people end up getting since I wanted this to be an older scar and the wound happening when the body was younger and healed better.  In my little world, that's the explanation.

Glad the Spam was enjoyed!  Thank you, everyone!

  • Best looking spam I have ever seen....I'm a big fan of tall dark and wow lol.

I had to laugh when I read about wishing you'd never researched something- I told my husband to look up a furniture company, he asked what the URL was and I said it was "obviously" (name of the furniture store) dot com. Well, it was a porn site and our second grader was standing right next to hubby when the first page and HUGE render of a not-dressed woman came up. I laughed SO hard as husband spun our son around and said, "Nope. Not it!"

Are those wounds optional? (hope so.)

  • @Novica, pretty sure all of the extra's on the boys are optional.  Which makes them so versatile.

As funny as that story is, and it IS funny, I have to also laugh that you called the image a "render," not "image" or "photo." I guess we get so immersed in this world, any image becomes a "render" to us. lol
    laugh

No, it  actually was a piece of art- not quite toony, not quite real. (But real ENOUGH, if you get my gist.) wink

Yup- they will be add-ons (though the one on his ribcage is gonna stay just to give him a small bit of interest there) for the base textures.  He is, now, 85% photo resources and 15% MR base.  I'm giving him one tattoo and one only- Most of the old school muscle didn't ink their skins since the ink can be traced back to the artist and by way of elimination, their family names.  No involving the innocents in their business, but I figure he'd have gotten the one I gave him when he was much younger before Giovanni (his older brother) made sure to correct him on doing it again. ;)

  • updated veins and entry wound scar. XD Not a finished render- I quit it so I could finish up getting his torso materials done.

    ... "Giovanni"?

  • Giovanni is Salvatore's older brother. The next in the list to make. ;)

    Niiiiice....

  • lol-watch it there.  XD

  • Looks really good.  I love his skin and all of those veins.  You always do such a nice job with that.

  • Thank you so much.  Just about done converting him to G8M.  Will be ready to roll the tester dice soon!

I think I'll sit out this time around.  While I would love to be picked to test, I'm just too busy right now trying to finish up my novel so it would probably be best if my name wasn't put in the hat this time.  I hope to have more time during the next round and I wish every good luck with their chance at doing one of DM's wonderful characters.  Don't lose my name, though, DM.  Once I get this book done, I'll have more time to hopefully put someone through the ringer.  :)

  • Of course!  I'd not remove a name from the list text file unless someone said they wanted out permenantly.  :)  I'll leave yours out of the roll this time, though.
