Great renders, Misty. I'm an especially big fan of the sky horizon.
Stezza is the master of caricatures. Now I want a scoobie snack.
scoobie snaaaack!!
luna lander ? I like how it's distorted - really adds to the hand draw feel=
knocking up laser guns? - dont let their dad catch you...
nice lgs by the way
it's the space pod from LiS - Lost in Space

yep... I modeled another dog!
Nuggets lol
Stezza, dog gone it, you have found your calling! woof!
@Mistara, lovely hair ! looking forward to eyebrows :)
here's the opening part of my show at Maitland Regional Art Gallery (in oz) 21 works made in Carrara in an important regional art gallery is a plus for Carrara.
the show is up for three months so I think a few thousand people might see it (fingers crossed)
Looks great !!!!
thank you Bunyip02 !!! The styrange thing was, I walked into the gallery and thought 'bugger me, it looks amazing' - I hadnt seen the works framed and of course the gallery did a terrific professional hang. They even have a soundscape set up which you can only hear if you stand below it (a very English voice reading the poem Karawane)

It's a test image I've done for a new plugin I'm testing.
The plugin is called "Cutouts and blimps". Basically, it creates a mesh from an image, removing the part with alpha, allowing to make cutouts with no transparency, speeding up the render by a huge margin. So, you've got a kind of splat that render faster, trading polygons for transparency.
But, it's not what I'm testing in this image. A blimp is an inflated cutout (a bit similar to the organic function in the vector modeler). I got the idea from Wendy who created a dog prop and put it in shareCG. I found the idea interesting, but the process tedious (thus the plugin). The point with blimp is that it corrects (at least in part) the main defaults of cutouts. They don't react well to light and they do not project correct shadows.
Here is the render with blimps
And here is the render with mere cutouts :
congrats on your hanging... awesome
I must get my sister who lives in Wangi to pop in and have a look and get some snaps
I must give a plug for my sister's book just released..
I did the cover for her using Carrara
For all you readers it can be seen here
that looks useful Philemo, I was actually once trying a similar thing in Zbrush using alpha to mesh but the results are disgustingly high poly!
One could use this in replicated forests etc with rendered tree png images at least for the more distant ones.
I can't imagine how excited you are. That is one posh-looking setup.
This must be the good news thread. :)
Stezza, between the new dog and the book cover, you are just killing it.
Philemo, I don't yet understand your new plugin, but it looks like it does some useful stuff. Continuing thanks for all of your efforts! I'm still excited about G'MIC, which I think has the potential to be way more useful than people suspect.
ktarya on g8f
little bit of toe distortion
g8's conforming eyelashes didnt save the autofollow morph in save subset
fantastic stuff once more Philemo :)
@Stezza, thanks so much! and thanks @UnifiedBrain - havent had enough time to get excited - some real life stuff is flattening us for about a month :( gah ! But will get excited soon :)
fantastic news Stezza, congrats on the cover -it works superbly at all sizes !
wow, so impressive you can make g8 even work!
awesome renders everyone BTW
and not only do HW3D Cat and dog UV match the same saved Carrara hair works on both which suggests same mesh
and rig
animations and poses interchangeable
scaled same here
I tested with morphloader in DAZ studio they are indeed the same mesh and load as characters on each other
Nice cover Stezza, and gratz to your sister on the book
my video with the coarse Octane hair
testing HDRI + distant (no sky), no postwork
edit: well, seems I can't upload 5k size images, gonna try later
Wonderful stuff all over this thread.
@HeadWax - congratulations on the showing. Very impressive pics.
@Stezza - congratulations to your sister (and you) on the book. Will be watching that Amazon ranking skyrocket!
@Mistara - Another G8F preset? Can't wait. With all the work you are doing on the toes, I may be developing a foot fetish.
@Philemo - another plugin! You work fast. Can definitely see the difference in the shadows. Excellent.
@the3Digit - Your avatar toes look much better than G8's uncorrected in Carrara. Intriguing news about the Hivewire house pets
I was going to post more or less exactly what Diomede said - so take it as said again! Congrats to all!
luv it
A few of my newest portraits
@Stezza - Danger Wil Robinson! Very cool.
What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs? Everyone knows it's Carrara Native Content!
