Not for a long while as yet, I just read that Reality 3 for DS is slated for a June/July release! Tell me about it!

Is that for poser or DS? OOO My next set really shows one more reason for my preferring the Luxrender

LOL I know that R3 was coming out for DS after Paolo mentioned it on the Rendo forum (where most regular R users "hang out" the DS reality thread is pretty dead in comparison...

Sadly the Pret-A-3D forums are pretty much dead, so I could never really get any assistance with Reality beyond stumbling through the user guide and a lot of trial and error. I'm still having a lot of trouble with Reality, not least of all trying to get the same vibrancy out of it that I can using DS lighting and 3Delight.

If there's a Rendo forum where I can get more detailed info, I might have to go hunting for it. I think mostly I miss being able to use UE2 in Lux, which gives me superb results. The converter for UE2 to Lux seems to fail on my copy of Daz, so I'm having to modify the IBL settings within Lux itself, and there seem to be very limited options.

I'm happy enough with DS alone for now,

Something is telling me that I'd better get round to doing something with Garibaldi Hair, I just got a download link for the 13th beta! Oops, I signed up when they were at 10!

Anyway, I decided to try out the HSS on Danae's Dublin and I got some of Spyro's eye tips to work. I'm pretty pleased with the results, and, I even managed to autofit the hair!

Thanks man. Thats been my thing from day 1 even when I sucked and was rendering as PNG's and doing all the postwork in photoshop. I got into DS cause I wanted to produce TV like episodes...

    Thanks,

Something in that render made it take around 45 minutes, possibly the hair. It certainly helps to keep yourself occupied while you're waiting. Oh, by the way, the poses I've been using are Syyd Raven's Portrait Studio which I ported over from Poser. They were meant for V4 but Genesis seems to like them.

That render of Danae’s Dublin looks really great, Rogerbee. I have also noticed, that rendering of some hair in Daz Studio
takes much more time, than in Poser. Perhaps just a feature of 3Delight renderer.

Thanks, the hair textures look better too. It always was intended for DS anyway.

With the Luxrender adding lights can slow rending times quite a bit

    That would definitely worry me!

I'm just about comfortable with the render times I get with the Lantios lights.

You learn to have patience when you get the superior results in the end..

Yes, and when Poser too long have you used, you must unlearn what you have learned, eheheheheh!

Ooo weee after a certain amount of renders in my episode I create a slideshow with win movie maker and post them on YouTube. I posted the last one on the 18th just passed 9000 hits! It does seem to draw more ppl since I have been posting my lux rendered slide shows..

HeraldOfFire glad they are trying to help you. Told you it was a great resource did a lot for me..

It was really curiosity more than anything that led me to get Poser. I'd just discovered Renderosity and nearly all their best stock seemed to be for Poser and not DS. It was in no way a mistake either, more a diversion. When Genesis came out and the 3D community were raving about it, 3DWorld even gave it an award, DS started to intrigue me again. Then, DSON came out and I initially saw no need for it. Then, it began to become apparent that DSON would only ever be a compromise and that I'd need DS back in order to fully make the most of Genesis. When I saw all the extra options that certain textures had were DS only it really helped with my decision.

Genesis is the way forward and the best way to use it as it was intended is to use it in the program it was initially designed for, which isn't Poser.

Anyhow, back to renders and I've done Stratton. I tried Spyro's eye techniques and they seemed to work, you have to bear in mind that Stratton has pale irises anyway. If they were darker the effect might be better.

Hey you gave it a try after all :) Great work. He's got the Riddick look about him.

If you check the Dublin render I got the cornea and sclera just right on that one. I'll give the pupil and Iris a go in another render.

I forgot that I did one of S5, her eyes are standard though. I can't help thinking that they could have made her more attractive, S4 was one of the best.
