...oh, speaking of pics. here's the Leela one I hinted at several nights ago.

Turned out to be a real workout as there are several items behind the camera that are reflected in the car (don't have a lot of good HDR spheres to work with as I don't have a digital camera, and can't really afford to buy any ready made ones, fortunately the beast can handle the extra load).

    The End... for now!

    ...epic indeed!

Now I have to fire up Bryce as I've imported 3ds/.lwo ,objs into it before. Time to go "fishing" for that Pike freebie I found years ago before I realised Daz & 3DS were not compatible. Such an epic poem needs an epic illustration (so don't expect anything real "soon" now)

LOL! Well, best of luck, and may Olaf salute you with fresh mead!

    - Foot/leg very sore today because of above
    - Didn't sleep worth a darn last night
    - Crampy guts
    - Crampy shoulder muscles
    - Indigestion and lots of it
    - Eyes are fuzzy
    - Dead dog tired
    - Wanted to sick out but I need the money too badly
    - 1/2 a leftover burrito for lunch is all I have
    - Shoes almost dead, have to buy new this weekend
    - Got to work and my test hardware was dead, have to wait for new to be built
    - Lost an hour due to coming in late since I wasn't sure 'd make it in at all
    - Going to break 100f today

And no non-complaints at all. Feh, feh, fehhhhhhhhhh! (feh face)

(it doesn't have to be an award-winning translation you know - it just looks cool with all the little circles 'n things ... you could probably just recite your shopping list and it would read epically ;-) ).

I just got back home from my friends' home warming party and we had a big bottle of Bulgarian (!?!?) rum there. Amongst other drinks.

    ...thanks everyone,

Like most of my ideas these days it starts on a whim, only to turn into another "labour of love" so to say.

With the power I have at my disposal, I find it more and more enticing to throw caution to the wind and just do what comes to mind.

Getting that giddy feeling again like I had over five years ago when I was just discovering what this 3D thing was all about.

Olaf And the Kilometer Long Pike - The Finale

Olaf smiled as crowds did cheer
    Looking forward to a beer
    Maybe he would sit a-bench
    Swiving with a frisky wench
Olaf grinned and felt a glow
Hot enough to melt the snow
Skalds would sing as strings they'd strike
About his victory over the pike
He would get his greatest wish
And feast for months on this huge fish.

    Swift the beach-head growing near
Olaf felt a twinge of fear
He grabbed the pike-neck with a frown
The giant fish would not slow down
Fins were thrashing, tail did stroke
The kilometer-long pike did go for broke
    Faster faster through the ocean
    Olaf discerned the fishes notion
It came to him in a sudden flash
The darn fish was going to crash.
    .
    .
Suddenly the pike did hit the shore
    And kept going further more
Crushing bards, and women, and men
The toy vendors got done in
    Crushed by massive fishy scales
That could easily knock off whales
Into the village the pike did reach
But still could stretch right to the beach
A few quick rolls and that was that
The pike had smashed the village flat.
    .
    .
Olaf fell stunned to the ground
    Surrounded by the awful sound
    Of crying children, women too
But there was nought that he could do
The giant pike writhed to the water
Slipped back in just like an otter
    Ridicule and lots of scorn
Was heaped on Olaf, as he mourned
Oh poor Olaf, he could never win
As kilometer-long pike gave him the fin.
    .
    .
    The End... for now!

    Bravo! (applause emote)

...bah, world's just going too "PC" (and I don't mean Platinum Club) these days. Makes this prospective writer cringe with fear of endless brickbats and litigation.

May as well go back the the "white label" generic days and just write "Story" with "Bland Character A" and "Bland Character B" in "Boring Plot 1".

Eeeeeeee Google Translate really struggles with my language!

And I maintain that most of our epic poetry was written and created drunk. :D

Well, let's get you drunk then (^_^)d. I'll buy first round ;-).

Okay, sounds like you're well-primed to start on epic translations then ;-).

    Now, repeat after me:

    Ennen vanhaan mailla jään
Joskus kalastusta ei ollut niin mukavaa
    Viking veneitä vesi kylmä
    Täynnä sotureita niin rohkea ...

...bah, world's just going too "PC" (and I don't mean Platinum Club) these days. Makes this prospective writer cringe with fear of endless brickbats and litigation.

May as well go back the the "white label" generic days and just write "Story" with "Bland Character A" and "Bland Character B" in "Boring Plot 1".
You just described 90% of the current Fiction Best Sellers list. :D

...yup. and people wonder why I don't want a telly anymore or go to the Cinema much either.

I'm sure once I do start posting my story, it will raise more than a few hackles in some circles.

This is entirely too damn true and I'M GONNA RANT! (angry face)

I've been buying a fair number of books to see what my competition is doing, and I swear every single carping book has the SAME generic protagonist,t he SAME generic antagonist, and the WORST cast of stereotypical secondary characters! (angry face) If that's all I have to deal with I'll end up Stephen King famous! (angry face) Doesn't anyone study the CRAFT OF WRITING any more? (angry face) I spend about 10 hours a week studying the raft of writing because I DO NOT WANT TO SUCK!!!! (angry foaming ast the mouth rabid rant face)

The amazing thing is that I poist non-PC stuff on my Red Room site and I don't get flack, in fact my hits went up to 200 a day for 4 days afterwards, when I posted about how I felt that I had enough experience with women to be able to write from a heroines perspective. Argh!

Ok, rant over.... (Red red face)

Morning. Sunny just after dawn today, although the weather is starting to close in now, so went for a ramble to check out the Kingfishers feeding on a very swollen and muddy river :o)

...oh it's not going to stop me from my work. As Jack Nicholson (portraying the Joker) in the original Batman film said:
