Hi guys and thanks for mention Rock. I don't know if you gonna like him, but I will release a new stylized male very soon.

Just for the record, I snapped up Michel (and a couple more of your matching females) as soon as he hit the store, great job! If you want to do a few more youthful males, possibly aliens and/or ethnic varieties, I wouldn't tell you "no". wink

Ditto.  He's a wonderful character.  I'm rendering him now!

The Girl 8 with Manga Marker Materials for Genesis 8 Female applied.

First one: no postwork - even the background image is supplied with this product.

Second one: added another background image and postwork effects in Photoshop.

    Great images!

The only problem I see isn't down to you, but how 3D clothes are made without depth; this is particularly noticeable on the skirt; Zero depth looks silly.

Here's a shape comparison if anyone is curious.

The Girl V4, The Girl 6, The Girl 7, The Girl 8

     (Skins adjusted with Altern8.)

Very interesting.  Thanks for sharing.  It looks like the eyes went back towards the original but the mouth would need to be tweaked quite a bit.  Broadening the shoulders would help bring it back to the original too.  I really love her and that she is petite now, it goes with being a 'girl'.  I've got the other ones so I can always pull them out if I'm feeling nostolgic.  Might take me a night of work but I'm sure I could get her close to the original with morphs.  I've had to decide that each generation is a character in it's own right and to stop hoping they would be exactly the same but better.  Daz would get pretty boring if they just made the exact same figure each time a new generation came out.

I wish they had recreated an updated "Girl" hair, Girl 7 and 8 here are using the hair from Girl 6.

Girl 7 is still my favorite, I think she's the perfect refinement of the classic shape. I'm sure the new one will grow on me, and as a Girl fan, it's the first Pro bundle I've bought in Genesis 8.

On a side note, I'm having horrible problems with materials on Girl 7 for Girl 8, I will try reinstalling but it keeps trying to use an unidentified UV.

Those are great.  I've been having problems using other g8 materials on girl 8 as well.  When I remove them I often end up with a white face.  Hopefully there will be an update.

The Girl is one of those figures I've never been inclined to use at 100%.  The large, stylized head never really appealed to me in a photorealistic 3D context.  But the body morph itself at a lower percentage worked pretty well in Genesis 2 and 3 for when I needed a more sexualized character for a shot and Lilith just wasn't working for me (or isn't out yet, fingers crossed).  This Girl... she feels even more toony somehow.  I think its in the base texture, particularly with the eyes and the eye makeup.  I'll have to try one of the other figures to see if that feeling carries over, or the base textures on another figure, but something just seems off to me out of the box.

Use other genesis 8 textures on her.  Not all of them look good but the ones that do totally change the way she feels.  Awesome render.  I love it.

Here is Hazel for Girl 8 with Jonah for Ollie 8. I had to use that Propagating Scale on Jonah for the head, feet, and hands and also scale the eye size larger to make him more stylistically like the Girl 8 & associates.

What I'd like to know is had anybody bought the Girl 7 for the Girl 8? I'm debating whether to use the Singular Blues morph transfer scripts on the G3M Girl 7 since I have to do that for Ayala, and Ruby and the other Girl 7 style characters, or whether the Girl 7 for the Girl 8 is sufficiently superiour in quality than that transfer script will do such that I should buy that.

Anytime you get a white face, it's usually caused by the Diffuse Overlay. Most (all?) of the "Official 8" Daz Original females have Diffuse Overlay makeup. If the settings are changed and a Diffuse Overlay map isn't in that slot it will show up as white face.

If you get that just go to the Surfaces Tab, go to the Diffuse Overlay Weight (up near the top of the surfaces list) and dial it's slider to 0. That should get rid of the white face effect.

Just a quick render for fun, did not even mess with lighting.   Girl 8, Patty head, Nylyssa texture, altered the angle on the eyes a bit.   Various clothing and kitten hair.  The lighter one has was brightened in photoshop.

Hello guys! I noticed that Girl 8's eyes are very "realistic". Do you have suggestions to make them less realistic, whether with products on store or maybe even editing textures or modifying shaders?

I was looking for a result more similar to the Disney models.

Example of a Disney model eyes:

    Thanks!

To be honest if you look at her profile view, she was based off of Elsa but happened to look like an adult version of Vanellope von Schweetz, so I leaned more towards that :D.

@VincentXyooj Vanille is one of my favourite models! I used her on these:

    https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/646456

    https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/643821

I love that she has a toon eye selection and separate toon eyebrows which I need for using with pwToon and Visual Style Shaders. She also has a beautiful and expressive face. I wish there was a male version of her with these really useful extras.

Thank you for creating her smiley

@tcassat you can dilate the pupils using the add on Genesis 8 head morph set. Also Cartoonize for Genesis 8 females gives you some morphs to adjust eye shapes, which help towards getting the the look you want. I used them on this render (the model is The Girl 8)

I absolutely love Vanille! She's stunning and my favorite "toon" type character. You did a wonderful job on her! :D

    Hello!

I'm doing some experiments with the models of "The Girl 8" to try to make a style more like Disney/Pixar.

I have a doubt about the skin, however. In 3D Disney/Pixar/etc movies, the characters usually have a skin more like rubber/plastic than real skin. However, my impression is that The Girl 8 has a very realistic skin that does not have the same effect (at least in iray renders). Would you have any tips on how to get this rubber-like effect instead of photorealistic skin?

    Note:
For now I only bought the "The Girl 8 Bundle" and the "Vanille Character" of VincentXyooj. If I need more assets and you have suggestions, I appreciate it.

    An image for reference:

    Thanks!!!!

I attempted to create some skin settings based on your reference image. It's not perfect as I only had a few minutes to work on it before getting back to work, but I think it probably gives more of a toon look than her default skin.

You can download the settings here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qdn4vvyf9rfeqf/Girl 8 Toon Skin Settings.zip?dl=0

Just unzip it, open the folder and drop the "Shader Presets" folder into your My Library folder

You should then be able to find the preset under "Shader Presets" >> "Girl 8 Toon Skin Settings"

It's actually a materials preset - not a shader. If it bothers you being under shaders I'm sure you can move it to the "Materials Preset" folder instead if that will be easier for you to find there.

Here's a quick 2 minute render with the Toon Skin Settings:

    I hope that it's helpful. :)

Besides the nice freebie from DivaMakeup there are paid DAZ 3D products Sakura 8 & Dwayne 8 that are the plastic/rubber/wax looking toon style.

lol Well, it took me longer than 2 minutes to modify the skin settings, it's just that the render of it only took 2 minutes to bake. :) I felt bad I couldn't put more time into it though. I just got swamped yesterday. I might revisit the settings and tweak it some more now that I'm not quite so busy. :)

That turned out so cute! I love the morphed version of the Girl 8 too - she's adorable!

Thanks for testing out the skin settings, I think it does give more of a toon look to the skin. :) Really cute render!

It was a pleasure @Divamakeup smiley I really appreciate the time you put in on this sort of thing. This made a world of difference to the render and I would never be able to work out how to do it for myself!
