Hello!
I'm trying to make renders with 3Delight, but there's something wrong with The Girl 8 and I do not know exactly what it is because I am very inexperienced yet.
Below I put two side-by-side renders made with the same settings. As you can see, Paige's rendering was adequate, but "The Girl 8" looks very dark and the eyes look strange. It's as if the materials were not correct (though I set the correct 3Delitgh materials for both examples).
Does anyone know why The Girl 8 renders look so strange on 3Delight? Is there anything I'm forgetting to set up, maybe?
@tcassat I've not rendered The Girl 8 in 3delight other than when using Visual Style Shaders or pwToon which replaces the skin settings entirely.
I've just tried a straight render and I'm getting the same dark tone. I'm no expert on 3Delight and I tend use a free light set when rendering with it. I recently got IBL Master so I'll do test using that product to light her. I did replace her skin with one from Hazel and then applied the 3DL setting to it, it rendered ligh but washed out, I think I need to at least try a different light set.
@tcassat I played around with different light sets, but to be honest I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to 3Delight. The best I could get was with a light set provided in the RSSY Iray to 3Delight converter.
I lined up Aiko 8, Kaylee 8, The Girl 8, Sakura 8 and Dolly and set all their skins to the 3delight settings. On screen before rendering, Aiko, Kaylee and The Girl look very similar. I think its all down to the lighting and the way the skins are created and I don't know enough to be able to help you I'm afraid. Hopefully someone will come along with some brilliant advice. If not, then it might be worth popping into one of the 3Delight render threads and asking for some advice.
Thanks for the effort,Mollytabby!
But I think I'll give up 3Delight and try to minimize rendering time in iray.
That's what I'm doing as well @tcassat. I tend to mainly only use 3Delight for things like the toon shaders. There is a place for both, but I do prefer Iray for figure work and I just have to live with the time to render cost of Iray.
